I'll try to get some pics tomorrow. Based on prior sales, I'm thinkin' maybe $300-350?

Actually maybe close to $450 since the CFFA 3000 is very scarce right now...

  2. The Atari light gun has the same issue as well actually.
  3. IIRC it's switchable to either 240p or 480i.
  4. Thinking of ditching my IIGS setup...

Essentially yes. There might be a few unique corner cases.. But you'll have access to over 99% of the //e library.

@Tempest: Nah, it just hasn't held my attention and all it's been doing lately is just sitting on the shelf

  5. Also wanted to add that the battery is still in good condition and I also repasted the CPU when I replaced the keyboard.
  6. Longhorn Engineer made a template a long time ago that works pretty well, I used it back when I did modding commissions: http://longhornengineer.com/images/atarivideomods/design/Videomodprintout.doc
  7. I'm looking into selling my 2015 Dell XPS 13 that I bought as a MacBook replacement but didn't work out. It's one of the mid-range models with an i5, 8 gigs of RAM, a 256 GB SSD and the QHD (3200x1800) touchscreen; everything works perfectly and there's very little wear on it, with only a few minor scratches here and there. The keyboard was replaced with a non-OEM model (the original one had some weird stickiness to it) but it works like a charm. There's no OS loaded but it made for an excellent Ubuntu machine last time I used it. Might even make for a nice Hackintosh laptop too. I'll also be throwing a sleeve, the original charger and a tip adapter so you can use the charger from a Dell Latitude or larger laptop with it. Looking to get $600 for the lot.
  8. I'd be up for something that'll get you at least RGB or component. After the SOPHIA board came out for the A8 I'd say it's time for a similar solution for the C64.
  9. Not sure why you want a picture of the board, it's just like any other VA1 except with some wires for the audio jacks and region switch. The serial is 89N51021, and like I said before it's been my main console for years.
  10. I have a VA1 Japanese Mega Drive and it does indeed have issues with distorted audio. I fixed it by tapping the audio from the CXA1034 preamp chip and routing it to a couple of RCA jacks at the back. It's been my main Genesis/MD console for years but I think the VA5 & VA6 boards are better, the distortion on my VA1 drove me nuts until I figured out it was a design flaw and not a capacitor issue.
  11. Isn't it just an easily replaceable barrel tip PSU though?
  12. Just an update for my console, I recently swapped out the S-video mod for Simius's SOPHIA board so it now has RGB output.
  13. I'm using a Sony PVM-1354Q, both my 5200 and 800XL are using RGB.
  14. I didn't use the Treco regulators, I used some inexpensive ones I found on eBay for like $2 each. The caps were put in when I installed the regulators, as I've experimented with switching regulators before and had interference issues without that extra capacitor.
  15. The 7805s are actually a good distance apart from each other on both the 5200 and model 1 Genesis, and actually the Treco regulators shown by the OP are only slightly bigger than a 7805 minus heat sink. In fact I just installed some switching regulators in my 5200 yesterday and so far so good. I recommend installing a 220 uF cap across the output though, since you'll get some significant video interference otherwise.
  16. The graphics were spruced up for the NES release while the Famicom version is more faithful to the original arcade game in that respect.
  17. Yeah I'd think you'd have a lot better luck (and a lot of interest) with an RGB board. Yurkie doesn't offer DIY kits for his RGB mod so having competition would be really nice.
  18. Honestly I didn't mind the extra work (I used to do a ton of NESRGB installs years ago so desoldering chips isn't too bad now), and the amazing picture quality was well worth it. Except that I am using a CRT.
  19. Simius's SOPHIA RGB/component board is the way to go these days.
