Grabbed a UAV board last night so I can finally sell off that Vader 2600 I have laying around, would anyone be interested?
-
Ever look at a power supply board and immediately think "yeah not even plugging that in"? That's me rn

Welp folks I’m an ST owner again

Really wish DHL had a tracking system that actually works.

@bluejay I'm the buyer not the seller so I didn't have a say LOL

So I have the opportunity to get a (untested) 1040STF for under $100, yes, no, maybe?

Recently picked up one of those IPS screen kits for a broken Game Boy Pocket I had laying around. Just got it all connected aaaaand the top half of the motherboard doesn't sit flush. Great.

I realized that I replied to so many "What systems do you have" threads over the years that I think I can piece together a pretty accurate personal history of what systems I've owned over the years. Sometimes being an overactive teen pays off LOL

For anyone who's ordered from Best recently, how long has it usually taken for Brad to respond? I sent him an email for some parts I need over a week ago and he hasn't responded yet...

I sent e-mail request a couple weeks back, I got a response within 1 day (around the holidays too), I responded back and sent payment, and I had my items a few days later. Did you follow their e-mailing instructions with putting specific Atari item/part number info in the subject line of the e-mail so it gets read?

I've been reevaluating my collecting priorities lately now that the new decade is approaching...
And I think it's time for my Amiga 600, MSX2+ and Neo Geo to go, among a few others...

@joeatari1 Will do, I currently have it in storage at my parents' place so I'd have to dig it out and look it over. I've done quite a few mods to it including a Unibios install and S-video output. I also replaced the original 270-degree DIN port with a 262-degree one so I could use model 1 Sega Genesis RGB cables with it.
@Keatah I'll probably start a new thread for this stuff since I have some fairly interesting hardware that I'm willing to let go of. My gameplan at this point is to ditch systems I haven't played in a while and replace them all with a MiSTer setup since it's matured quite a lot in the past few years.

@Simius still has some SOPHIA boards for sale if you PM him. The GTIA on the XEGS isn’t socketed though so there’s a fair amount of desoldering to do. I also used an 8-pin mini-DIN as opposed to the DE9 connector that the SOPHIA board comes with since it’s easier to mount.

Love to get the smell of blown capacitors before dinner time LOL

Love having my HDTV and OSSC setup don't get me wrong, but sometimes I'll see a setup like this and I feel the urge to go all minimalist with just a 13" CRT:

Local record store was having a little Black Friday sale and managed to pick up some gems for a reasonable price

Ever since I got a SIO2PC 11 years ago, I always said that I never looked back after ditching my Atari 8-bit disk drives.
Tonight I'm eating crow.

What you say is true, and I also use them for dumps as well, and with 2 happy 1050's and 2 Indus GT's I can do 4 at a time in syncromesh and ultra speed modes. But especially multi-disk games is what I use them for. If it's a single disk game I generally load an .xex from an SIO or cart device. I do still have some original floppies for some many of the .xex's though, just to use the disk drives a bit more once in a while; because I'm a hardware guy and I get as much joy out of just putting hardware to use as I do the software it loads, (and I don't mind the load times, but I do at least upgrade for fastest tape & floppy drives) And yes, half my hardware hobby time is spent on drive up-keep, but I enjoy it all the same. But I love playing my Atari multi-disk RPG's and Synapse Electronic Novels and Omnitrend's Universe on multiple floppies.

Well, tried to finish up a transaction on NintendoAge last night only to find the site had been murdered. Lovely!

If anyone is still in any Yahoo groups, now would be a good time to save what info you can: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN31010.html

Are there any Intellivision flash carts still being sold? Figured I should invest in one soon...
-
LTO Flash is supposedly releasing a limited run this month. 25 or so. After that who knows?

I'd recommend playing a brand new LP a few times before making a recording. Most people don't clean them properly (there's a few cleaners which help big time) beforehand on a new pressing, and there's things leftover from the pressing process. Even still, a play or two helps get rid of that crap, then clean it, then record I say. Lot less surface noise, clicks and pops.
-
Also, check out the Last (brand) products. I use a stylus cleaner, then follow up with their stylus preserver after each side of playing. Last also makes a vinyl preserver that lasts for 200 or so plays before you need to re-treat your LP. I've never worn out an LP since the mid 80's. Even my oldest stuff from then sounds as good as ever.
Even before then, can't say I ever "wore" a record out. Except for the times (pre teens) I was using ultra cheap gear and worn styli, placing coins atop the cartridge to prevent skips. Those LP's are toast... but I got rid of them looooooong ago.

Psst! I’ve updated my FS thread and added a modded European Sega Mega CD II! Check it all out here:
