  1. Sorry to hear, about your friend.

  2. Well, played Adventure again today, this was a game which I hadn't fully learned yet. Besides finishing it on game 1. One reason I didn't complete it on games 2/3 was the look of the mazes were ugly and I couldn't see the layout on orange maze leading to the castle, or much in front of me...etc. I read the manual now a few times. Lurked around the mazes, killed a few dragons, outran the red one, got the challice and solved it! Then I solved game 3 twice. Wasn't very challenging since I memorized the mazes pretty easy with little practice.(wasn't as tough as I expected them to be) The hardest part was when I encounted some heavy flickering, and odd mistakes/glitches in the game. I was about to solve it a 3rd time and I got stuck in the castle door as it did not open with my key... the bat hit me, and lodged me into the castle door. I couldn't move...lol. Then another time the bat carried me against a dragon it ate me, and the bat carried us off room to room, (while in was in the dragons stomach!) all the while experincing a flickering mess. The sound when you kill a dragon is pretty weak. I know it's 1980 but still. We all know the DUCKS DON'T LOOK SO GOOD EITHER, BECAUSE IT'S NOT A DUCK after all. Anyway... the arrow for a sword is rather awful too (I forgot the arrow was a weapon) and so is that "Square" as your main charecter. Unfortunatley there's no score, and no timer..so you can't beat your old score or beat your best time. Blah.... most my runs through this game had some problem with the games programming. The magnet can help, but I did lose a key and magnet into a wall. Now for the plus++'s in the game. The randomized element on game 3 makes for a new experience a fresh game each time you play, I really like that. The game on 2/3 setting, has challenging elements that are kinda deceptive and you need to be on your tails and take it seriously or else you will be slammed and eaten by a dragon. The 2 mazes which are only shaded a few feet in front of you, keeps you tense as you don't wanna hit a dragon. You also might have hard time finding objects in those mazes, which the magnet helps you out.. thats cool. All in all, it's a decent game... but the praise that I read about it suggests the game is perfect... or the best 2600 game. I am not quite there with Adventure. It merits for me about, *Above average*. or the (B) grade. The game to me, just doesn't play "clean enough" to score a perfect mark. Adding a score or timer would have helped too. What you guys think?
  3. Mister VCS, (added you to 4th place in the score leaderboard) and yes I agree Pac-man is still pac-man, and this version isn't great but it's playable and has plenty of game settings you can select from, which makes things interesting. I noticed the flickering ghosts too now, in the past it didn't seem so bad, but with my semi-new TV set... wow the flicker appears much more sensative to my eyes. Flicker in general may appear worser with newer technology. The walls in Yars' Revenge were really flickering when I played it last night.
  4. Hmm the NES version, if I remember correctly... you had to call, then wait out in the hallway for them to show up for you. If I stayed by the phone, and none of my mansion friends were in hallways the meteor police didn't show up...

  7. I'm trying to set up a couple Polls, but not sure how it will look or how to make it right... Now, the first poll I'm trying to set up is, with about 10 or 11 questions. You would vote once on each question (once for the game you like best). I want it to look like this, 1. GAME TITLE / GAME TITLE = Vote once here. 2. GAME TITLE / GAME TITLE = Vote once here...etc, 3. TITLE/TITLE... same thing untill the poll questions end/finish. Though it's not really a question more of a vote for a game you like type thing... Can I make the poll so you can vote for 1 game and not another? How would that work?
  8. Yesss!, especially when her kids forced her...they are up in her business while she's tryin'to play it too. Rumor has it that she rolled the score late that night and missed work the next day. If she got fired or not, we dont' know! But her moto in the hood was, "Have you STOPPED playing Atari today?!" B*tch!
  9. LOL! Nothing short of a "cryptic" moment.
  10. Where did you read that line from? Is that the review... ? Bad review if it is.
  11. Found some Spider-Man videos last night on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XfSFbs3vDf0 (w/commetary) scratch the first video, i just watched it, he's not funny and isn't playing right. lol. ("better" game play video) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qK7nErlfyc&feature=related (game review) (angry game nerd tries spiderman)
  12. It's been a little while, so I don't remember how long it took, but I don't think it took very long. I just played on the easiest levels, and basically just moved forward counting as I went, to see how far I had to go to reach an intersection or lair, then filled it in on a grid in MS Paint. I'm glad the maps are useful to you. Michael Okay cool, it is a complex maze, but not impossible. Hardest part is running out of your Wand, and not remembering what direction you took when you are returning to the intersections. So far I actually haven't used your maps yet, just got out of the Crypts by myself. Mainly by good use of those intersections, walked and walked till I found lairs, and up staircases! But if I want to try advaced or difficult games, the maps will help me... and I think I may not bother to map it on my own, since there's maps ready from you. Thanks again for posting them.
  13. Normal Game.. made it out of the Crypts! I only went upstairs 5 times to get it, but still 3,155 Didn't recieve much for bonus lol.
  14. If you're determined to give "Crypts of Chaos" a fair go, what I suggest you do is stick to the highest (easiest) levels and try to get the hang of the controls first-- not the movement so much as the "fighting." I've owned the game since it first came out, and I still can't handle the fighting very well. The problem is in the way you switch between different "weapons." You'll be in the middle of trying to kill an enemy when suddenly you'll unexpectedly find yourself moving between different weapons instead of moving your "fire" in the direction you want. And it doesn't help that the movements are so slow, which "encourages" you to push harder on the stick to try to get it to move faster (yeah, I know that never works, but it doesn't stop your id from trying to make it work anyway), and that just makes it all the more likely you'll unintentionally switch out of your chosen weapon and find your cursor moving between weapons. Getting the hang of the controls is very difficult. Michael Giving this one a few nice plays. Enjoying it. I got the hang of the controls! I don't make many mistakes, although I'm often using the Peace/Wand. Seems I take a nice beating with trying the Sword against the snake, IRONIC. Tend to run out of Wand weapon, which can be discoraging. Only think I am runing into problems is, the maze layout of course... The intersections mainly is the problem... trying to remember if I turned left or right, or if I am heading back where I came from by accident? LOL. If only they made each corridor a different color, would be much easier to tell if I went down it already or not. But it's not impossible! Just gotta maybe map as I go, or use those nice maps you Michael have supplied. Really impressive maps you made! Especialy maze C and D. Was is extremely difficult to map all of this? How long did it take you? At least this game has an easy mode!!
  15. My high score so far on Normal game 2,177 and a pic of me exiting the Crypts on Easy game, was "easy" to do, just made two lefts, collected 2 treasures, and went straight then that led me up the red staircase!
  16. BTW: VERY NICE SCORE, YOU MAKE IT LOOK EASY.
  17. Topped the grey building! Collapsed on the pink, man there's not much time to get up it. Who ever heard of a "Pink" building. LOL. My Score: 4,210
  18. I played this one again recently, and I think it's pretty cool, kinda badass. Very good graphics, sound and playable. Maybe having the (temporary) force field makes it kinda easy, but still gotta' play carefully and have to shoot 4 enemies to get it. What do you guys think? I only seen two reviews at Atari Age. They aren't saying anything too good about the Flash. External Reviews Atari Gaming Headquarters (by Keita Iida) 50% Video Game Critic (by David Mrozek) 62% Average Score: 56%
  19. 2,250 2,600 A little better, still cannot get up the gray building.

    Worm War I

Yeah this is a good game, I own it with it's org. manual. It's a high quality product hehe.
  21. My favorites, would be probably Moonsweeper, Star Voyager and Dragonfire. Other great ones are... No Escape, Fathom, (the ones you have), Solar Storm (paddle game) Avoid, Fire Fighter. The game looks good but is far too easy and basically all it is is, how quick you can put out fires, and the fires are very easy to put out. That's the only dud Imagic made.
  22. Hi again all... Just recived Crypts of Chaos today and have been playing it. My opinion is, it's not too bad (so far). I'd say it's met my expectations. Probably better then what I been reading online with ratings/reviews. Another plus, is I don't feel I'm moving as slow or purposeless, as it COULD have seemed so, that's good. I was a little worried. The controls aren't as tricky as I expected either... another plus there. I like the sound effects, mainly for the weapons firing and music cues on the enemies approaching. Cool! Glad the walls change color, I'd have no clue how far I've gone without that I think it's a decent game (so far so good). I think the only gripe I have is the maze itself, and that's fine as it's kinda like Haunted House, but much more involved, maybe it gets easier the more you play? Of course, the more difficult the game level is, the harder the controls will be to maneuver probably. Thanks yall' for helping me make my mind up.
  23. You're welcome. Congrads on making the Rollers club, had a feeling you could get there. Bopping over and over using "rapid fire" during the falling orange eyes bonus, is the way to go. The Oranges bonus also count 'more' later on in the games stages.
