Hiding out with Carmen SanDiego
But seriously, about 40 miles outside of Chicago. -
I got my refund early on and used it to buy a game from a developer that has repeated delivered licensed games of exceptional quality.

Have any prototypes of the expansion module ever surfaced?

Are we sure baby pac isn't just recently born jr pac?
He could be either. In chronological arcade release order, Baby Pac was released before Jr. Pac. However, in the cartoon, both Jr. and Baby are present.

One question: In the preview video, the intro sequence is accompanied by a voice-over. Is that only in the Windows version of the game? I didn't hear the voice on my 7800 version.

Cool, I just need a bounty bob cart to finish 5200 cib....oddly I have it's box and manual

Bounty Bob is one of the two. In this case, I may have to settle for a ROM on an AtariMax.
I also had one of those I-have-the-box-but-not-the-game issues. I had a very badly worn Quintana Roo box but no game. I found a copy of the cart with manual on eBay for a decent price recently, picked that up, and shored up the box as best I could to contain the contents.

Great picture book! It could have more written details , but pictures are just the best.

Being a photographer myself, I appreciate it more for the photos than the words

"The colors look just like the 'alternate' CGA mode. I actually have a nostalgic fondness for it, but completely understand the dislike towards it:"
<CRINGE> Now I'm going to have CGA flashbacks! Thanks a lot!

Bob don't ever take anything away from yourself. YOU ARE THE REASON I OWN A 7800.
Couldn't agree more. I already had ways to play 2600 games before my 7800. However, it was the home-brew games, especially Jr. Pac and Super Pac that made me realize I needed to get a 7800.

I don't think either of them have serial numbers (BB I or II). My guess is that they just did a run of a certain amount and that was it.

I'd be interested in one once they are ready. In fact, I picked up a PC game-port game-pad at Goodwill recently with this in mind

This is a testament to the game in that someone who's never played it (or an Atari for that matter) can pick it up, figure out the play mechanics pretty quickly, and become totally engrossed in the game, with no comments on quality of the graphics, etc.
My guest and his daughter must have played it for about an hour before they finally switched over Mario Kart Wii.
Well done, guys!
Now to get my own copy.

All,
I am trying to get started with Oscar's book. I've completed all of the setup instructions in chapter 2, typed in the Hello World program and compiled it. When I try to run it, Jzintv comes up but on-screen all I see are a quick flash from a pink background to a green one and, finally to a black one. No text is displayed.
I am running on a 2018 MacBook Pro with macos 10.14.3
I am using IntyBasic 1.4 and the latest Jzintv from 12.25.18. The SDL runtime I am using (2.2.0.9) is from here: https://www.libsdl.org/download-2.0.php
If anyone can provide some assistance on what I might be doing wrong, please let me know.
Thanks!

The liquid tape works great.... plus after building like 4-5 in a row, you get wicked high LOL !!!!!!!!!
I put together a paper circuit project for my Cub Scout den recently and, damn, was I loopy and nauseous after cutting all that tape to length.

OK. I found the bug, and a simple workaround.
LUI *is* shipping the correct FW update. There's a bug in the code where it checks to see if it needs to extract the firmware file out to disk.
If you go to your Documents/LTO Flash/FirmwareUpdates folder, you will probably see the following files:
- LTO_Flash_FW.txt
- LTO_Flash_FW.upg
- error_db.yaml
The bug is this:
The UI will not replace those files with the ones that it ships as internal resources. So the new version isn't copied to your system.
So the easy workaround:
Rename those files.
Next time you start the UI and connect your cart, those files will reappear -- but they'll be the new ones.
I'll be working on a fix for this, but it'll take a little longer than just rebuilding the installer... Turns out it had the right firmware after all. Looking on my dev system, it appears that I was exploring a solution to this at some point, but never finished it.
Firmware updates have been so rare since release that this is only lightly tested code. During the hardware beta we were usually *manually* upgrading, downgrading, and re-initializing firmware, so those pathways got a lot more attention.
I was able to get the cart to update successfully on my Windows 10 x64 machine with the above instructions. Considering how long it takes to flash most ROMs, I was wondering if it had actually worked when it only took a couple of seconds to perform the update. Thankfully, it updated it as it should.

-
Is this still available? If so, what 5200 games are you looking for?
-
I think your best bet at this point is to get the LTO Flash and download the full ROM. It certainly will be cheaper to do so.
-
I agree that you probably couldn't have faulted them for trying if the system had really launched on time. But I don't see why it would have had any better success than any other keyboard attachment for a game console.
btw, it's interesting to me that console manufacturers never stopped making keyboard attachments for their game consoles. Even the Xbox One is getting an official one now, but I also have official ones for the Dreamcast, PS2 and a few others.
The DC one was made mostly for 2 purposes: 1) People who wanted the mouse/keyboard experience on a console for games like Quake III and 2) for the web browser
