RKade replied to therealbountybob's topic in 8-bit High Score Club
10790 Narrow 8930 Wide I loathe Wide. Narrow is infinitely more playable to me. Hopefully I can improve my score. -

Just a matter of waiting for a new controller and getting it just right so I can participate properly, heh. -

Unfortunately, I will be unable to participate further in this particular contest due to real life issues dealing with my computer. It should be sorted out soon. -

I can't even PLAY a bunch of these... I don't know how to play the rest of those games. How sad... 40275 on Loderunner. 16540 on River Raid. 2150 on Serpentine (my xbox controller hates this game so much.) 3830 on Turmoil -
HSC8 *Team* Round 16 - Final Poll & preparation

Wait, what do I do? I'm in. -
We have the cars. This bridge bombing should pretty much be in the bag.
-
I'd vote for HERO, Spelunker, or especially Montezuma's Revenge (the one with 3 difficulty levels which, I assume, is the official version.)
-
I'm pressing print screen and cropping in MSPaint. If I don't need screens, I won't use them. Cropping is hard when you have to zoom because of bad eyes. I'm going back to try and improve my score edit: Darn, looks like I'll have to take screens if I'm going to go for the bonuses (I won't win but still...) How can I efficiently get screens without cropping? edit2: 39695 on Qix.
-
How do you guys get such high scores? I was never good at qix though I do love it. I was amazed I got to the 3rd round.
-
I voted Qix because, though I'm not too great at it, it's still freakin' Qix.

The original Atari 8-bit version opened a part of "Pictures at an Exhibition" by Modest Mussorgsky, but was changed in all other versions, including the later re-releases, to a much more dramatic, foreboding song. Also, this. Spelunker Animated Intro Version.atr

Except Legolas' hair is blonde which cheeses the wife off (no idea on the swearing stance so I'll err on the side of caution)
-
We play on Laurelin. I'd rather not fire off that warhead. Her mom's crazy...
-
Is that the original or the re-release with the animated intro and the awesome music?
-
Here's hoping, right?

I'm a cripple (eyes, ears, lungs, lungs, chronic pain, and lungs) from the states. Born 3 mo's early back in '83 and the docs said "get him a video game" and my parents bought me the greatest video game system ever, the Atari 800xl. I've literally been playing it since before I could talk AND I learned how to read and write with it. I originally signed up to thank people for altirra because I had been banging my head against a wall ever since I got Windows 7 and my old best friend died so so long ago. So, yeah, I'm Ryan and I'm going to try my hand at the high score games and generally lurk about. I would someday like to get another Atari 800xl (or better) and a way to get all the rom files onto floppies so I can play it like it OUGHT to be played, on a tv being prompted by a black background, yellow letters, and dark blue prompt letters to pick my choice! In other news, I enjoy Civilization 4, Lord of the Rings Online, and my wife whose parents hated her and gave her the inferior 2600 as a child.
-
Altirra had that option as a default when I installed it.

I signed into this site to say that I love everyone who suggested Altirra as I was banging my head against the wall for over a year... also, coincidentally, I've been calling myself RKade on forums for a decade now. That's all I wanted to say, I'm going back to fun.
