The Ultimate Intellivision Flashback
Rick Reynolds replied to Byte Knight's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
I honestly don't know about the differences in power draw between the 2 and 3. My question was about supplying power while guessing that the original flashback adapter is probably NOT going to provide enough power. -

Thanks! Could you send me one of those power tips? All the radio shacks around here have gone under. I'm pretty sure I can handle the tip change - it's a good idea. -

What's the community thinking about power for this box? I'm planning on putting mine into a flashback shell, so I have the power port that is installed in the flashback to begin with. I'm betting the power supply provided for the flashback won't be sufficient to power my pi 3, however. I know I could just power it with the power adapter that came with my pi, but I'd like to make the power button on the flashback functional (and maybe the reset button too?). So I'd like the power to go through that switch before getting to the pi. I've read that I can put power onto two of the I/O pins on the board, so that's definitely workable. But how many people bother with a different power supply than the micro-usb? Has anyone found a power supply that has the same barrel-sized plug as the original flashback but can provide more amperage? -

Heh, I think I've posted before about how I rage-quit Audacity and moved to (the expensive) Logic Pro X. Never regretted it... -

Well, maybe I'll be the ginea pig here then. I'm building on a Raspberry Pi 3, using Retro Pie 3.6 as my starting point. So far the front end comes up with the custom Intellivision 2 background and I can choose the jzintv emulator. I have a video issue within the emulator itself, but that might be due to a number of things (I'm using an HDMI to VGA cable connected to an old PC monitor, so I don't know how unsupported that setup is). But so far so good! -

Sorry if this is a perpetual question, but I just got my raspberry pi and am diving into this project. I see that the latest Retro Pie image is at verion 3.6 (as of 3/2016). Are the files that people are sharing compatible with this version? Or do I need to install the older version(s) referenced on David's page and in this thread? -

MYSTIC CASTLE by Intelligentvision now available - ROM
Rick Reynolds replied to Rev's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
Yeah, reading between the lines I assume this is the case. At any rate, I really love the improvements in the couple of games I've played so far. Need to put more time into this as Thunder Castle is one of my top 10 games for the platform (yes, I have chosen a couple so far...) -
Wanted: Feedback For Sentinel & Ninja Golf
Rick Reynolds replied to nosweargamer's topic in Atari 7800
I can't claim to be any kind of 7800 oficionado, I've only had mine for less than a year. But Ninja Golf is the reason I got it! I really enjoy this game, have to call it Hall of Fame. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -

I'm sure I don't know what you're talking about. -
In this episode we review the Mattel Electronics game Masters Of The Universe - The Power Of He-Man. We have an interview with the two programmers responsible for the game; Rick Koenig and Ray Kaestner. Keith Robinson makes a special appearance to discuss the Intellivision Game Club and Newsletter, and we have our usual Feedback, News and George. http://intellivisionaries.com/episode-26-masters-of-the-universe-the-power-of-he-man/

MYSTIC CASTLE by Intelligentvision now available - ROM
Rick Reynolds replied to Rev's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
I think we asked the developer about that - the comb represents vanity! Kinda funny - there aren't any penalties for greed (picking up points-only treasures) or out-right killing of dragons, wizards, or demons! Although, if you're in the mind-set of penalizing vanity, I'm guessing you'd look the other way at the killing of a few demons... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -

@wolfy62 got a couple details incorrect: There were two object changes from Thunder Castle. Thunder Castle: Candlestick, Mystic Castle: Heart -- grants extra life. Thunder Castle: Comb, Mystic Castle: Cross Bones -- cuts your score in half. None of the other objects have changed (I believe). I really like these two changes. Heart and cross bones definitely indicate life and penalty today. -

I'm ok with little hacked roms like this having a place in the hobby without going full-bore CIB release all the time. In fact, I really like the idea of hacked/better versions of released games showing up. I think that makes the games a bit more interesting. A lot of that kind of thing goes on in the 2600 community. That said, if a CIB version shows up, I'll buy it. (I don't have a problem, I can stop anytime I want!!!) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -

Thunder Castle is one of my favorites on the system, but it does play a bit slow. I can't wait to give this version some playtime! -

Well, thanks for that, but neither of my podcast players see a second episode in that RSS definition. Ok, I went ahead and ran the feed through a validator. Basically, the second episode isn't valid in some way: http://castfeedvalidator.com/?url=http://www.thelogbook.com/selectgame/feed/ Oh well. Hopefully they'll get it ironed out soon. -

Does Select Game have a working RSS feed? I just see no attachments in the RSS as if it's just a series of blog posts with no media. -
Heh. I'm just not one to swear (much). I actually asked Willie if my lack of swearing would change the feel of the show in a negative way. I'd rather not be on the show if putting me into the mix changed it for the worse. The guys were kind enough to let me join in on the fun. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

One lousy spare... But this is as good as I'm going to do tonight. And as it's done before, the uploader flipped the pic...
