  1. One more pic of some preparations. I just "finished" this controller last night. Right now it's an Atari 2600/7800 controller - the third buttons on each side and the orange near the top aren't wired in yet. My plan is to make it switchable between Atari pinout and Sega Genesis pinout. But I didn't quite get the time to finish that bit before Saturday. Still, it came out pretty good. Used the Easy 78 board from Edladdin controls, and Ed even pointed me to one of the enclosures he uses so I just ordered one of those. I know it isn't an Intelly controller, but the planned Genesis compatibility is so I can use a Sega -> Intellivision converter that grips03 is going to hopefully be making next year.
  2. I don't seem to possess the secret-sauce to allow me to edit the initial post in this topic, so this is here. The 24-hour game day should be streaming on my youtube channel on 11/11, starting at 8:00am EST: https://www.youtube.com/user/rickreynolds1969
  3. Did some testing of equipment tonight. I *hope* I've figured out why last year's stream was so choppy. Things definitely looked better in my testing tonight. I'm going to do some more this week to be sure.
  4. Thanks so much, Rev! Yep, the gaming marathon is scheduled for this Saturday. I'll be doing some testing this week to try and make sure that the stream will go well. I've also been working on some repairs of consoles and controllers. Hopefully things will be in good shape for some great gaming time this weekend. See the first post in this thread about donating to my campaign.
  5. I really appreciate that Jason! Looks like I'll have to stock up on cheez-its before the gaming day...
  6. Hey everyone, As you may have heard on the show, Cmart has berated me for not publicising my Extra Life game day charity event enough. You may also have heard that he was going to step up and be my publicist! And then you may have heard that he passed that buck on to Rev! So I don't know what's going on there. But the Extra Life event is coming up quick! The main day is 11/4, but I have a prior commitment that weekend so I'll be doing my all-day gaming marathon on Saturday November 11, starting around 8:00am EST. Extra Life (https://www.extra-life.org/index.cfm) is a charity that helps Children's Hospitals. I'll be playing for the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. Any little bit you can donate will help! My other Intellivisionaries co-hosts want to tie some stunts to various giving totals. E.g. if my overall funds raised hits $500, I'll play a certain game on the marathon day, or I'll down a box of Cheez-its, etc., etc. I'll certainly entertain such requests! If it's something I can do (and is within the bounds of good taste!) I'll try to do it. I've already received a request to play a specific game (Diner) and I'll certainly be doing that. Anyway, if you'd like to donate to my Extra Life campaign, you can do so here: https://www.extra-life.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=donordrive.participant&participantID=249319 On the actual gaming day (11/11), I'll have a link to wherever my live-stream is available on my personal website (http://www.rickandviv.net) and I'll probably update this thread here on AA as well. I think I'll probably be using youtube again, but I have to do some tests to see what setup will work best. It's a great charity and a fun event. If you are in a position to do so, I'd love it if you can help my fund raising campaign. Thanks everyone! Rick
  7. Sounds fine to me, Bruce. Let me know when you're ready. You can PM me here on AA.
  8. Hey Bruce, if you would tolerate another beta tester I'd love to get hold of one for my NTSC Intellivision as well. I did an RGB mod on one of mine using another board successfully, but it has color issues. I'd love to try another.
  9. In this episode we talk about what we’ve been up to, and what we’re planning. Rick has a Homebrew Highlight segment on the upcoming Jr. Pac-Man release from Intellivision Revolution. Rick also introduces a new segment called “Rick’s Hobby Projects”, this time discussing the Raspiboy. Cmart does a rundown / preview of all the Intellivision action that will be at the Portland Retro Gaming Expo 2017. And of course we have Feedback, News and plenty of George. If you’re an Intellivision fan and going to PRGE 2017 (and even if you’re not going), this is a must listen! http://intellivisionaries.com/episode-32-portland-or-bus/
  10. Thanks for the update, grips! Take care of yourself and get better - that's obviously the most important thing.
  11. In this ‘not-so-special’ (and quite short!) special episode, we discuss what’s been happening, why there haven’t been any new episodes for a while, and what the plan is for the podcast going forward. George has a few things to say too… http://www.intellivisionaries.com
  12. Sorry to be a dummy here, but I have one of the SGMs that came out in the 3rd run (I believe?). Is this the same hardware? I thought I read something about a new batch having more capability and that being the standard new games were going to be programmed towards. Is that right? I.e., do I need to get in on the 4th run to play newer homebrews that will soon be made? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  13. Our episode all about Keith Robinson is in the RSS Feed. In this special episode, we reminisce about Intellivision legend Keith Robinson (Keith died on June 14th, 2017). Rick, Paul and Cmart are joined by Scott Schreiber of the Retro Gaming Roundup Podcast, and Chris Bidwell of Now You’re Playing With Podcast. Tommy Tallarico talks to Paul about his Keith recollections, and Emily Reichbach Rosenthal (VP of Intellivision Productions) also shares her thoughts on him. And listener Chris Dreher contributes a fun story about Mr. Robinson. The Intellivision community has lost one of its greatest assets with Keith’s passing, but join us as we celebrate what Keith has done for the Intellivision community. http://intellivisionaries.com/in-memoriam-keith-robinson/
  14. We're working on a "Remembering Keith" kind of show for the Intellivisionaries. If you have a cool memory or story about Keith that would make for good audio listening, we'd love to use it. You can send us an audio recording or an email to [email protected] Rick
  15. Incredibly sad news. I'm pretty shocked. I only met him at CGE 2014, but doing the podcast made me feel "close" to him somehow? I know that's a bit silly, but I admit it's how I felt. I'm going to miss him.
  16. Not to toot our own horn, but we Intellivisionaries talked a bit about the crash screen in ep7 and posted a screenshot of the crash screen in the show notes for ep8: http://intellivisionaries.com/episode-8-sea-battle/
  17. I took some pictures last night, but because it was on a CRT they didn't turn out great. I'll try again via my HDMI upscaler - the color issues can be seen there too.
  18. Never heard that one. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. I installed a board from here: http://retrorgb.com/intellivision.html I was planning on taking some pics while at CORGS this past weekend to illustrate the color questions I have. But a wire came loose about half-way through the show. I've fixed it tonight and added some strain relief to hopefully keep it from breaking again. I'm hoping to get some pics of the screen tomorrow night. I emailed the board maker with some questions, and he indicated that the colors used by the board are chosen from a specific palette - shown in this posting: http://atariage.com/forums/uploads/monthly_10_2012/post-34079-0-22599900-1349323365.gif So I'm now wondering if I've got it installed correctly and the colors are just what they are based on this palette. The main color that seems wrong is the orange on the main screen of the LTO Flash cart. It shows up as a pretty clear yellow instead. But some (many?) games look pretty good to my eye. Anyway, I'll get some pics tomorrow night.
  20. Hey guys, I have some questions about an RGB mod I just installed on my inty II. I installed the one described at this site: http://retrorgb.com/intellivision.html Colors aren't quite right. I see yellow on the menu screen for the LTO flash instead of the normal orange, and some other weirdness. I saw earlier in this thread that someone mentioned a soldering sloppiness that caused color problems. I wonder if I've made a similar mistake? Anyway, I'll post some pictures tomorrow when I'm at the CORGS show with my inty. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. I'll just appreciate that comment for what it is! Thanks so much! I was very pleasantly surprised to find that the Overcast app (iphone) automatically takes time signatures in the .mp3 description and uses them for time markers. You can jump to any section in the podcast that is called out with a timestamp. I use it in RGR and if/when I listen to our show...
