  1. Thanks so much S! It's funny how different everyone is. I still listen to most of RGR, but I skip the Dinosaur Pie and Ali Express segments. I actually like the top 10s. Not every segment of every show is for everyone, I guess.
  2. I don't even have to show up for recording sessions anymore! It's awesome! I wasn't really in ep31, BTW. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. Let's talk Vectron! In this episode we review the Mattel Electronics game Vectron. We interview the programmer / designer Mark Urbaniec. Keith Robinson joins in for part of the interview as well. Will and his wife Margo cover GoSub in a Homebrew Highlight segment. Cmart (Christian Martin) joins us again, as does George (and Nigel). And we have our usual Feedback, Mentions, News and fun. Over 5 hours of Intellivisionaries goodness! http://intellivisionaries.com/episode-31-vectron/
  4. All the regular audio for ep31 has been recorded (news, feedback, game review, etc.) and Paul is editing. I don't know the status of a programmer interview.
  5. Thanks for that. I asked specifically about which cable because for my application I'm probably not going to be using SCART but want to setup my pins so that the pinout is at least standard with "normal" cables out there.
  6. I'm looking to do this mod myself (got the kit in December). What cable(s) are you guys using to connect?
  7. Hey omac, I'd be interested in seeing your tips on getting it all working. I've had issues since upgrading my setup.
  8. And it's great to overuse adjectives in close proximity! Great, I tell ya! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. This is great news. The game is looking really great! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. Heh, nothing to be sorry for - you've done a great job with this emulator! Thanks for the response.
  11. Hey Decle, I came across this website and saw this guy has a basic Space Invaders homebrew for the Studio II. Any chance of getting that rom put into your very fine emulator-on-inty? Or are things not really that simple... He has a couple other homebrews also, but I really love the idea of being able to play a space invaders clone. http://www.robsons.org.uk/archive/www.classicgaming.com/studio2/index.htm
  12. I sense a homebrew release coming - Cmart keeps throwing random concepts at me in an attempt to drown my personality in all these extra bits of nonsense; I have to dodge for as long as I can. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. LOL. Cmart seems to be on a mission to associate me with as many non-sequitur random items as he can! Penny Farthings... Cheez-Its... I doubt he's done... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. Heh, there were a couple of points where I was having to concentrate a bit harder to keep my train of thought going... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. @FifthPlayer - thanks for the recognition that I was putting my best into that! I confess, I actually like card games to a degree - not as much as other styles of video games, but I had fun with the cart. @atarifan88 - funny! I'm sure Paul was trying to do exactly what you're describing. I did in fact wonder if I went into too much detail after listening to the final episode. I really like having a serious deep-dive into all these games, but I wondered if the whole community was listening and thinking "ok Rick, we get it... let it die already!" 16. I have it. I really like it. A great port of DL, plus the other games are available too (I haven't tried them yet). Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. I think an Intellivision module would be cool, no doubt, but unlikely for all the reasons given above by other folks. I noticed that the only pre-crash system mentioned in gamester81's video was the 2600. Personally, I'd love a multi-platform system like this (or a retron-5) that is all pre-crash systems. I'm attempting to build such a beast myself on a PI via my ultimate intellivision flashback system.
  18. They were many, and personal thank-you-very-much. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. A Special Episode just dropped into the RSS feed! Rick discusses the Portland Retro Gaming Expo 2016 with Cmart (Chris Martin), FreeWheel (Gary Magnan) and Tarzilla (Don Switzer). They go into the expo in general, the Intellivision homebrew games that were released and shown, and other side stories that may or may not involve dank restroom smells. http://intellivisionaries.com/special-edition-4/
  20. [quote name="mr_me" post="3666333" But I don't think the jzintv keyboard hackfile has an affect on any 2600 emulator. Oh wow, that's correct. Not sure where my head was at when I wrote that. Of course, you just need whatever Stella you're using to recognize the inputs coming from the Inty controller. You'll probably want matching definitions to be setup in the jzintv kbdhackfile just so the same inputs coming from the ultimate interface will work when playing inty games, but that is independent of how the Atari emulation would work. 21. As I understand it there are three main pieces: (1) the Ultimate Interface needs to be programmed for the Atari joystick in port 1 (2) the kbdhackfile that jzintv uses needs to be setup correctly for the 2nd port to send inputs that the Atari emulator will use and (3) the Atari emulator needs to be setup with inputs matching what the Intellivision controller is sending. For (1), you hold down the fire button on the Atari joystick for like 5-10 seconds during bootup (i.e. when the Ultimate Interface powers on) and it understands that the Atari joystick is in port 1. Port 2 will keep its programmed state. To reset back to Intellivision controller, program it by holding the 0 key on the keypad during power up. For (2), you need the kbdhackfile definitions to be correct. On my system the file is named hackfile.cfg and is in /opt/retropie/emulators/jzintv. I don't know if that's the same on every flashback / retropie setup or not. For (3), I'm not an expert. My system is running a port of stella instead of lr-stella that retropie defaults to (I believe??). I think it gets definitions from files under ~/.stella, but my understanding stops there.
  22. Finally got a video review of the boxes up on the Intellivisionaries channel! Sorry it took so long to get that done, Marc!
