  1. Well, if it's coming from Venezuela, there may be more and the one pictured has been removed from the bag for the auction pics. I'd like to see a bagged one - probably from the mail order form. Mine is the boxed retail version.

The boxed version, you speak of, is high on my want list. :)

  2. Nice collection, but just wondering if the offer was reasonable, then why hasn't it sold?

I think it's unrealistic to expect someone to plunk down $50k for a video game collection. Trouble is, most people who are both willing and able to throw around $50k indiscriminately are - in great liklihood - NOT GAMERS. They're going to be the type of people who have so much money that $50k doesn't matter to them, and they're probably shopping for a yacht to manage their investment portfolio on, or plan the next corporate takeover.

Anyone who would be interested in the whole thing at once is only going to want it dirt cheap - say $10K - and figure they're entitled to a quantity discount so they can flip it for a profit, over time.

It's hard to sell even just one console's complete collection unless you're going dirt cheap.

If I were looking to dump a collection like that, I'd begin with the most valuable pieces, Ebay them, and repeat. When what's left is a bunch of common stuff, the price will be lower and the likelihood of finding a quantity buyer higher.

I'd either split it up, go dirt cheap as a whole, or expect to keep it.

You are correct. Why do you think he hasn't sold it in two years? Only one reason.

  3. Q: What are you looking to get for this?

A: Basically just the best offer. I think individually this is worth around 50k, so I am gauging the reasonableness of offers based on that figure. I am NOT saying that I'm asking 50k for this.

Q: Come on, you aren't REALLY serious about selling this, are you? There is no way you can sell this at once!

A: Believe it or not, there are people out there with enough money to buy it up at once. I've had several reasonable offers.

You may look into a local game shop to sell the lot for you on commission. I don't even think a game shop would buy the entire lot without looking at it in person. There must be several drop-off eBay sellers near Milw. WI, but then you would have to transport it to them.

Some nice items, but noting that rare that most people would bother to buy the whole lot, so this would definitely have to be a buyer within 4 to 8 hours of you and require a moving van. You will probably be waiting another few years looking for one buyer without any success.

If you already have reasonable offers you should take them and be happy. Because it is such a large lot, you will probably get too many that you feel are unreasonable, wasting your time and theirs. It may be hard to take, but breaking up the lot will be your best bet at getting the closest to $50K and a good start on a college fund. Most 4 yr colleges take 5 yrs to complete now because they only offer classes every other semseter.

How much are you asking for it all.

He has all ready said, he is taking offers only. He has all ready had reasonable offers and wouldn't take them. I presume he is waiting for a lottery offer, like the 50k, he has mentioned.

  4. I just got a copy of halloween with label lose for 31 bucks the other nite on ebay. I have a lose copy of TCM with a hand written label in green ink does anyone else have a copy like that? I found one years ago on atari2600.com for 45 bucks. I've never seen them again anywhere on the internet or ebay with a hand written label. Just curious

The written label, or no label Halloween and TCM or a bit more common than the Label version . They go for around Half of what a nice label goes for. There use to be a game shop here in town, that started in the 80s. The name is eluding me. He had aquired a bunch of them and still had some up untill the early 2000's. HHW

  5. That isn't a repro, just a label less Activision cart that some kid put a sticker on. Seller isn't claiming it to be anything special, sold for parts.

I say, I say it was a joke, son. :D

  6. Pastfinder is a fairly rare 8-bit title. Even I don't have that one boxed.

    Tempest

Bingo. Will buy you a beer at CGE. :D Box was bit rough though. :x It will have to do, till I find a better one. Now what do I do, with that x tra loose cart. :ponder:

  7. Tropicana is NOT sold out... you have to call them up and use the code on the CGE website to book. All non-CGE related rooms are sold out though, and for some reason you can't book through the website with the code.

The CGE Code Booking was sold out over two weeks ago. If you got a room , it was a glitch. HHW

  8. What are the cords wrapped around them. :?

to stangle your opponent if you didn't shot him dead with the first 10 bullet! :D

Get on over there, and buy some of that Pal Crap from Marco. :P

I'd hardly call a VAL "Pal Crap" ;)

Neither do I. You gonna hit the 99k BIN or am I. :D

How 'bout we buy it together - $50k each and it can spend 6 months of each year with you and 6 with me :D

The postage back and fourth would kill us. :P

  9. I went back to yesterday's thrift to get this one... the store only takes cash, I was low on that, and unwilling to risk the on-site ATM, and I had to see what it was anyway:

Genesis Master of Monsters. $3. Loose.

I also discovered a recently discovered good game store has opened their second location within a stone's throw of the particular thrift, too.

    Nice find.
