  1. Homer is correct. I just gave you past sells. You never know.
  2. If it is confirmed Past market values are $300 to $500.
  3. I thought Wonder paid $3000-$3500 for the last one. I believe that was the highest that I saw this one sell for. Could be Then he got 5ths ghosts Docs, now he has a complete one except for the snorkel and Shirt. IT didn't matter then because the other New Giants were not involved. It would not surprise me if this one went for over $6k.
  4. I Guarante this is going to be a record. What was the highest paid for this game, with the box no docs. Wasn't it around $2k to $2500.
  5. Also ,The point is mute. Once the Giants Awaken. They are going to crush us, like tiny Ants.
  6. Sorry..bid placed. Go Frostbite! I'm rooting for you man! Hey what about me , am I chop liver? I've never really liked you just kidding. Go Frostbite and/or Wolfie! LMFAO. I don't blame ya, I am a smart ass.
  7. Sorry..bid placed. Go Frostbite! I'm rooting for you man! Hey what about me , am I chop liver?
  8. Well, lets have our fun , Before the Sleeping Giants Awake.
  9. I know you are worried about hitting a nice large amount, but you could have started it at 99 cents and would exceed your starting bid. Three of the Giants don't have the box, and the four of em don't have that shirt. It would have made us little guys feel good to put in our $5 to $1000 bid. You will do fine.
  10. But the point is, he won't actually pay $700 for it and either will you. That's just what he thinks it's worth based on no historical or current sales data whatsoever. That's no different than me posting I think it's worth $5. Neither one of us has any basis for the valuation and neither one of us is willing to put up the money. What counts is current market value based on comparable sales. All of the cartridges you have cited above are rarities or at least very uncommon. I could just as easily post a list of tons of 2600 items that have sold for below the previous market value in the past few months due to the economy. A 2600A Promo edition only appeals to a specific segment of collectors and to date, I have never seen one go for $700. Could this change at some point? Could one of those big wallet collectors want one? Maybe, but until one sells for that amount, the best and most accurate estimate of the value is what the average of the previous sales have gone for and that's still a few hundred dollars. Boojay I won't disagree with what you are saying. The only reason I think it would sell for what I think it is worth is the condition as described and the recent up swing in prices for quality items. I guess I personally had not seen many mint condition sealed units. Also wolf, I am not sure I agree that there is only 4 collectors driving the prices up. The Air Raid auction caused the market to shift a bit and brought in a lot fo people from all walks of life that were not in the hobby previously. So has the price of a beat up box changed? probably not, but I will continue to believe that the price of a mint conditon sealed item has gone up. By the way this happens in all collector hobbies, something brings big publicity, the prices jump up and then after a while they stabilize again. The market for quality stuff is at an all time high. What stinks for me is that this is also the time when people come out fo the woodwork with real rare stuff and you have to fight to be able ot purchase the item. Right now it is a sellers market for rare high quality stuff. Again as Boojay stated there is no basis except my personal analysis of the last few weeks. Boojay wants ot go by past sales as an indicator and I want to go by recent market upswing, the truth is probably in the middle between what we ar eboth saying. Here is a good example of what I am talking about. If Atari 2600 Lives. Speed O, Speedy, and Wonder ( The top 4 Giants I have mentioned) didn't bid on this item It would have gone for a lot lower amount. I would probably say between $1500 and 2k because of the snipes that did not register because of the high bidding war. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 180494340857 Click on the 14 bids. All us modest collectors, knew it was a $1500 piece(Because of Past Sells) and would not pay much more than That. BTW MY $1500 didn't register.
  11. Yep a nice deal. A lot better than his original BIN of $2500. Cheers to the person with the Balls to offer him $30.
  12. I can't even remember what the BIN was. It was in the thousands though. HHW
  13. I still say, right now, at this time, one would sell at $700 BIN. This person that started this thread wouldn't sell it for that any way. He sees one up for sell at $24k. That one will never sell. We only will ever see, if someone, right now puts a sealed one up for sell. I don't think a Sealed one is as common as you think. So at this point in time, When the big wigs are hungry , we may never know. Oh and BTW I think ATari 2600 lives, would pay that right now. He just paid $3500, for a $1000 copy cart.
  14. I think that is what I have been saying, around $700 and I am not sure if promo adds or detracts value but if it is in better condition , I think this auction you post is a good indicator of where the market is today. I'm starting to doubt you know anything about Atari at all. The auction pictured is for a six switch in an early box in mint/new condition. Those don't pop up every day and they have tons of nostalgia value. While $700 is high for that auction, it's not totally crazy. The OP was asking about a 2600A (i.e. a later model) in the promo box. Those have popped up very regularly in the past few years and many collectors just don't care about them. It's not like anyone remembers going to the store and buying a promo 2600A and certainly, unless you are a completist collector, there is not a lot of need to track down the 2600A promo boxed variation. As such, I believe your valuation is way off and unless you point me to some evidence to the contrary (i.e. other similar auctions for the same item), I'm going to assume you just pulled the number from nowhere. HHWolfman here. Been Buying and selling and collecting Video games since 1982. I have also made a living at Selling Collectibles for over 25 years now. I study the Vintage game market ever day, and have been for the last 10 years. Jay, Six months ago. I would have said yep $200 to $400. I would probably only pay around $200 for one myself. A few months ago a few collectors have popped up with Large wallets. I don't recall any of them picking up a seald promo box and their hasn't been a SEALED Promo up since they were involved. I gurantte if a cherry sealed promo box, gets listed with a $700 BIN it would not last an hour. In one of Atari 2600 Lives statments, he even says he would pay $700 for one. Which means right now it is worth at least $700. Just because past sells have only been around $200 to $400 Doesn't mean it will go for that at this point in time. When the smoke clears, These High Rollers have what the want, It will go Back to $200 to $400 , you speak of. Good examples of sales in the last couple of months. First prices are listed at what they used to go for. $400 CIB Springer $950 $1500 Magic Card $6700 $50 I want my Mommy CIB $150 $45 Snoopy and the Red Baron CIB $200 $1000 CBG $4500 $1000 Copy Cart. $3500 $350 Trac and field $600 $450 Loose River Patrol $1000 HHW
  15. I'm somewhat surprised at the price, but I wonder if it will go much higher. I think maybe the big hitters bid early and towards the end we'll see only minor bumps. We'll see I guess. Tempest BTW Mat, What is the highest price a 5200 proto has sold for.
  16. I'm somewhat surprised at the price, but I wonder if it will go much higher. I think maybe the big hitters bid early and towards the end we'll see only minor bumps. We'll see I guess. Tempest Ooops editing as you were posting. Speedy is in the lead. This could be a Atari 5200 proto, Sales Record.
  17. $735 and five days left. Bring out the pocket books boys. Speedy is Leading, as of now.
  18. Because of your helpful hints I got 5.89 one time, but can't do it again. I keep getting 6.11 everytime now.
  19. Missed that. Good eye. I wonder who got it and what other games were there.
  20. Hmmm Ok, Atari 2600 lives, If this was a cherry, original Sealed box, would you pay $700 for it?
