  1. buy reprinted labels so you have labels on both sides. and buy extra ones for putting on other things..
  2. what is the comp7 cassette for? is there a "rip" of it available?
  3. well.. compumater has stuff he wrote. so other people musta wrote stuff as well. anyone?
  4. ok! can it be made from cheap parts? can it be made as a pass though? can it be made to display SOMETHING when used with most carts.. anything, speed, lives, a hit, anything.. just leds would be enough..
  5. yea man. i mean, how much money are we talking about? what are buying. few people are gonna bite this without a FEW facts..
  6. How about putting an APC into pair of paddle wheel controllers. . also, maybe make a hardware cart for the 2600 that functions like a simple APC. basically a noise maker cart. for people too dumb to make music. and maybe even hardware .. like it just gets power for the 555 from the atari. and if possible uses the sound. dumb idea? so is the APC, but people have made alot of them.
  7. yup, another atariage member looking for a portfolio. A compumate has allready been ordered, and broken ones are still being seeked. The atarivox isnt being made right now, so if you want to part with yours please email me. ebay takes your bucks. its nice to share with others! I'll actually play with the portfolio and compumate. not a collector.
  8. thanks alex. its good to have somewhere like this to learn this stuff. couldnt find well organized information of this kind. ive read about people modifying old carts to play other games. havent been able to find decisive info on that yet. seems like everything i would want to know if buried in this forum somewhere.
  9. did we all get our rom files from the same place? here on the atariage forum? Im gonna hafta separate the roms that work and make a collection of them, unless someone else did?
  10. the harmony cart is great! it works well with my modded FB2, though not all the roms work. about half. i took it off the TV and connected it to a 3.5 inch lcd for micro gaming fun. one note. at first i couldnt get it to work. My flashback was being powered by a 9v battery. which worked well for the built in games but not carts. when i put in the harmony i got the spinning yin-yang. i thought thee was a prob with the card, but neh. it was low voltage from the battery. once i plugged in a power supply it worked fine. confused the heck out of me. so note, the FB2 uses very little power with the built in games. soo little that a 9v battery will power it for DAYS. but add a cart and things get heavy. and the harmony will just spin the logo.. I want to get another FB2, put it inside an old 2600 case, with real switches and put the cart in the right spot. Then put speakers, and the power supply wall wart built into the case. and then ad a 3.5inch or larger LCD to the case as well, as a pop-up, or just flat on the case. that way the whole thing, screen and all, is in a 2600 case.. only supply AC power. oh, and ill move the controller ports to the front. not authentic, but an improvement. Ide like to make a switch extension as well. something that plugs in and looks like an atari controller, but just manages the switches from a more remote location. in case you are plugged into the tv. though with my all in one system it wouldnt matter as much. i think its a good idea. but i havent the funds to do it for myself till i can repair more 2600s. so if someone else wants one. soldering a FB2 isnt THAT hard, and switches and ports can be had new. dead 2600 cases are cheap, and 3.5inch screens arent that expensive either.
  11. ok, i havent read the OTHER thread yet.. but i modded my FB2 with a cart port, and the menu on my harmony cart works. ide say about half the roms i have work, and the other half dont, no matter what bankswitch extension i rename to. i think i may have read about this (here on atariage) before i got my harmony...
  12. I think it would be helpful if you had a good collection of games and a friend who also had an atari. share games with them one at a time. Also i want to make one to copy a teleterm2600 cart and play around with communicating with 2 2600s. I know its dumb. jeez, its 30yo hardware. It is still fun to think about.
  13. sorry if im thinking outloud in the forum. im just intriqued by your project. I hope to gather the parts and skills to build it myself. thanks for your help.
  14. havent figured out how to run this yet. will though. did yall include "mate" and "new" into your words?
  15. is there any info in the compumate that this cool device can get? can a compumate be "dumped"? if i get you a cart port can you make another one? i think people would pay for this just cause its pretty cool and yet just beyond some people's skills.
  16. Im kinda creeped out by this. boxpressed said it though. she probably posted it for free. so whats the harm? She may relist it for something more reasonable. but yea, freaky. talking like that on your ad is no way to win people over.
  17. well, im suprised no one wanted this. so i sold it on ebay. after fees and shipping i made no profit on it. so someone paid for it, but i still gave it away. thats ok. i would have rather sent it to someone for free..
  18. this file is NOT worth $20. Im glad that member shared it/ the only way to get his money for it was to share it. thanks man!!
  19. i want "compumate gets a new brain" but i would be just as happy to see files posted. and why dont you see "rips" of the old cassettes? does any one have compumate cassetts? i ordered one from venuz, so im not JUST speculating. 4 weeks to go..
  20. thats pretty cool but i dont think a gui is am important as the apps. someone made atari OS, but without coding any apps (but pong) into it, its just not very usefull. fancy gui, no purpose. the harmony cart has a fine text interface. i dont mind text interface. but an "office" cart or app cart would do alot, especially if you could save or load date..
  21. You could have lights. i think the teleterm idea is really cool. how do you make the connection cable. . Get 2 carts of teleterm. would teeterm fit with other stuff onto a cart? or 1 burned cart and a harmony cart. the teleterm bin looked pretty cool. i am very interested in this stuff. after market atari stuff. non-game uses.
  22. wouldnt it be cool if he offered boards and parts as a kit. al least the boards, or maybe just a circuit diagram. why is atari hardware non open source? If it isnt going to be made anymore... i dont know enough about this stuff to understand.
  23. You are on to something. The harmony cart has a file loader, and can browse folders. Read a post that said he could prolly add another bankswitching scheme to make it read simple text files. wouldnt that be cool? what about some kind of picture viewer. A cart with a searchable rarity chart and a (SAVEABLE??) color drawing or ad for a retro gaming store. there is a calculator bin file. add that. so complile a a good range of stuff and put it onto a version of those carts that can be rewritten. so the os can be updated. what do yall think. ive been thinking about this before it read it. any hardware guys know how possible this is? how many average games (apps) could fit onto the biggest rewriteable cart? kinda a multicart ??, but with text and pic capabilities, or other OS stuff. music maker, basic programming. :ramble:
