  1. I just received my Super Game Module today! Wow! I am so impressed by the whole thing. The awesome packaging, everything. I felt like Steve Martin in The Jerk when he sees his name in the phone book. I wanted to jump up and down in the driveway and scream "The Super Game Module is here, the Super Game Module is here!". But since I didn't want to be commited to a mental institution, I remained as calm as I could until I got in the house. Eduardo, and everyone else involved, thank you so much for your dedication, devotion, and everything else. I know it has been a long journey for you to get this finished but I have to say you have done an excellent, if not perfect, job! I really can't thank all you great people that continue to make the ColecoVision better and better!
  2. I have not been contacted about shipping yet. Maybe I was too late for the first run? No big deal if I missed it I can wait.
  3. That box looks fantastic! I admire your attention to details and getting everything just right!
  4. Looks fantastic! Maybe you should save some of the goof ups and sell them in a few years as rarities.
  5. I received my games today! I wish I could afford more but I am having to save some back in order to afford some of Pixelboys upcoming games. Why couldn't I have hit the $500 million lottery?
  6. Those LSL screens look fantastic! I so want to see this game someday. So many fun memories from playing this on an old pc back in the day.
  7. Oh man Leisure Suit Larry on the CV would be so cool! I loved those games on the PC.
  8. Well then that might change my option list then! LOL
  9. I guess we are talking about 2, or more, options, that have to be ironed out into a final form if I read this correctly. Here are my thoughts. Option 1: A new CV board to replace the old one, but which is essentually the same system just a new more reliable board, potentially. I don't have a need for this yet, (I have 4 CV's and they all still work) but I am sure that others do, and more will in the future. The only reason I said potentially at the end is no one can say for certain that the new board will not develop problems in 5, 10, or 15 years. I am not saying by any means that it will, but unless you have some insight into the future it is not guaranteed, but it would help out the people that currently have problems for sure. Option 2: A slightly better but still 8 bit CV with somewhat better graphics and sounds but with backwards compatibility and with AV outputs. I would be interested in this if it had full backwards compatibility with current cartridges. I think it would be nice to have games that could offer possibly more colors and more sprites on the same scan line with less flicker. Sound is not all that big of an issue with me but I can see where a couple extra channels could be usefull. Option 3: A totally new CV, or CV2. Possibly a 16 bit system. I guess this would be the "what if" console, as in what if Coleco had survived and this is maybe what they would have created to counter the NES and SMS or the 16 bit systems that followed. This is an interesting idea and in a way I would like this on as well. But I wonder if there is a big demand for this? Unless this version is backwards compatible, I personally wouldn't be interested in this. Unless this could be mass marketed by the "new" Coleco and many games are developed I myself don't see a need for it. I love the idea! I just don't know if it is worth the trouble to make a few hundred or maybe a few thousand. I guess my vote would be first for option #1 to be sold as a replacement board for those that need it, and I may be one someday. It could maybe be sold as a drop in replacement. Then option 2 as an upgrade with a new case and enhacements that are mentioned. Just my thoughts.
  10. Gee a difficult choice if I have only one. The one that comes to mind right at this moment is Mappy. A fun game with great music. How doable it is on the CV I don't know. I defer that answer to the great programmers out there.
  11. I threw together a 30 second advertisement of the ColecoVision's 30 year anniversary and I featured the Super Game Module in it as well. I hope it helps sell a few more when it is released.
  12. Welcome! I think you will find that the ColecoVision homebrew community is pretty awesome. One homebrew you might have missed is right above this post. http://teampixelboy.com Have fun with the ColecoVision!
  13. I for one am just happy this game was finally made! It is a very fun game and addictive, which is what makes systems like the ColecoVision so much fun, even 30 years later. I find it awesome that people are willing to go to this much trouble to make new games for my favorite system, the good ol ColecoVision. I hope that they will continue to make more games. I may not like or buy all the new games, but the simple fact that people made the game is great, because someone likes it and buys it. I didn't like or buy all the Coleco games back in the day when they came out either, but here we are 30 years later and there are new games being released. Thanks to all who continue to make these great games!
  14. In 2013, the annual Coleco convention Adamcon will be in the province of Ontario, Canada and the dates should be about the same as this year 2012. So better make your passport ready if you want to join in next year. I would like to attend one someday as well. I remember back in the day I was subscribed to a couple of newsletters and I think every 3 months or so I would get one in the mail and they would have articles sometimes about Adamcon and all the great things going on.
  15. you should do a review like your others for side trak this weekend He already did on 7/15 He got it out lighting fast! He's also much better at the game then I am I'm still trying to get the hang of switching tracks the way I want to.....any suggestions from anyone would be great So you are the one that watches my channel!
  16. I found that if I always press the controller in the direction that I want to go before getting to a section of track that is switched or going in a direction that I don't want to go that I had a lot easier time playing this game. So, don't wait to press the controller in the direction that you want to go, plan ahead and vary the speed of your train as needed. Yep that is how I figured out how to do somewhat better. It gets harder when your train is at full speed so if it is safe slow down so you can switch the tracks easier. This comes in handy on the tracks at the center of the screen since you don't have as much time to react since there is less space/time to make your decision. Hope this helps out.
  17. Interesting question. I wish Coleco had survived as well. Think of all the games we could have had back in the day after 1984 or later if Coleco would have survived. If they had survived the crash in a strong enough position to still get the rights to games for the Coleco then the NES might not have been such a big game changer in the US market. But this is all what if.. stuff. It is interesting that Opcode is currently working on the Super Game Module, which is probably what could have happend back then, if things were different. So maybe it has taken 30 years but it is becoming a reality in the near future.
  18. Always glad to help out especially if it means reviving someone's interest in this fabulous system. I agree 100% with you there!
  19. Coleco made two different, but same, ADAM Computer configurations: The first is the Stand-Alone Memory Console version with a built-in ColecoVision Game System. This system has the Cartridge Port on the top right of the Memory Console with a Computer Reset switch on one side of the Port and a Cartridge Reset switch on the other side of the port. This version of the Memory Console has the three video options that I discussed in the post above. The second is the Expansion Module #3 Memory Console that NEEDS to be attached to a ColecoVision Game System. There is no Cartridge Port on this version as well as Cartridge Reset switch seeing as this console connects to the ColecoVision and used the cartridge port built-into it. This version of the Memory Console only has RF Output. Not to confuse the issue, but you can have a ColecoVision modded for Composite or Component Video output. If you do not have a ColecoVision Game System, then you can not do anything with this version of the ADAM. Good information, I wasn't aware that the stand alone Adam had more than one output, all I have are the expansion model versions. Forgive my error and thanks for clearing it up!
  20. You didn't mention in your post if this was a stand alone Adam or the expansion module 3 version, which has to be plugged into the expansion port of a regular ColecoVision. The reason this matters is because the stand alone Adam uses a different output than the module 3 version. The stand alone Adam uses a composite output, while the plug in adam uses an RF output. An RF output looks very much like an RCA jack, in fact you can plug one into a ColecoVision, but it won't work. If this is the model you have you can purchase an RF to coax converter at radio shack for $5 or so and hook it up to any tv that has a coax input but you will need the original RF cable not an RCA cable. I hope this helps you out.
  21. I would like to see Rip Cord programmed, but I don't want it to take away from your schedule of upcoming games. When and if you get to it is your choice and I respect your decision of if you want to create this game, or not. I wasn't trying to put pressure on you to make this game. I was just asking if there was an interest of making this game.
  22. Back in the day a good friend of mine had an Atari VCS and I always enjoyed the game Sky Diver. A very simple but fun game. In the Coleco catalog a game is shown called Rip Cord, which looks like a fun game. I think the original arcade game was not in color at least from what I saw on you tube. Is anyone else interested in seeing this game? Maybe I am the only one. I am curious what others think.
  23. I received my copy of Side Trak today! Very fast shipping I might add I didn't expect it for another week or so. Many thanks to every one involved in finally getting this game made for the ColecoVision. I really appreciate all your hard work and dedication to the ColecoVision!
