  1. I received my copy of Side Trak today! Very fast shipping I might add I didn't expect it for another week or so. Many thanks to every one involved in finally getting this game made for the ColecoVision. I really appreciate all your hard work and dedication to the ColecoVision!
  2. I am more than willing to make a youtube ad. I contacted Eduardo via email and he will send me photos and other information when he has the time. If there is any other way I can help out feel free to let me know.
  3. I would like to jump in here and say that Yurkie is THE MAN when it comes to mods like this. He modified one of my CV's about a year and a half ago and his work is awesome. He works really fast as well. From the time I sent my CV off to him from the time to receive it was only about 7 days! Thanks Yurkie!
  4. That would be wonderful and really appreciated. Please let me know if you need any assistance. BTW, some news about the SGM status soon. I am definitively behind schedule, but things are coming along. My plan so far, and it is subject to change, is to make a YouTube "commercial" similar to what they did 30 years ago, but at 1 minute or maybe 2 minutes. I plan on showing some finished homebrew game logos with a voice over just like the old commercials did. And I also thought I could show some photos of the new super game module and maybe a few seconds of video of planned games, or at least logos of them. Even if they are prototypes and get changed, or never arrive, it would be just like the vaporware games shown back then in the CV catalog! I guess what I need first is permission to do this from everyone involved. I will need some basic info about the new module, nothing really technical, but basic stuff, like more colors (how many?), better sound (how many channels?), more memory (how much?) etc. Or I can just say something like "With the new Super Game Module you get better sound, more colors, just like the arcades!". I would also like to show any photos or videos that will show the module and the games themselves. Hopefully more than just a circuit board, but something that looks like a semi finished product. Like I mentioned even if they are prototypes that would be fitting with some of the ads back in the day showing things like the coleco controllers with spinners on them and so on. I am open to suggestions so feel free to contact me with any ideas, changes, or things that should be included that I haven't thought of. If it would be better to PM me with photos and such feel free to do that as well. By the way does anyone know the launch date of the CV back then, or a rough estimate?
  5. One of my subscribers gave me an excellent idea about making a video to promote the 30 year anniversary of the ColecoVision in August. Maybe I could showcase the upcoming Super Game Module with some photos of the module itself or something like that. And with permission maybe some footage of games in development, just a few seconds or so like they did 30 years ago. Let me know your thoughts. I am willing to help out in any way I can.
  6. How about the first time I saw a ColecoVision in late 1982 when I was 17 at a kiosk at Musicland (anyone remember them?) and got to play it for the first time. I thought it was awesome. To me at that time it looked just like the arcade games I had played. Of course it really wasn't but it was the best I had seen. I guess I was hooked since I still have one 30 years later.
  7. I think both the ColecoVision and Atari 5200 are great systems, and they both have their merits and flaws. I also think that some early coleco games were rushed in order to capitalize on the 2600 and Intellivision's popularity back then and some games suffered. The 5200 was capable of a larger color pallete but it seemed like they didn't use it well at first. In the final analysis neither system really got to show their full capabilities until late in each systems life and by then they were made "obsolete" by the NES. But here we are 30 years later and people are making these new great games for not only the 5200 and ColecoVision, but other systems as well. I think that is awesome! I would have never thought that people would be doing this back then in 1982 when I was 17 years old. My thoughts are no matter what system you own, or prefer, if people are making new games for it support them in anyway you can. They won't make new games unless you give them your help. Just my thoughts, not trying to start a war.
  8. In addition to what has been said I vote for Lunar Lander and Parachute. Parachute looks kind of like a reverse Rip Cord, which is one game I always wanted. I guess since we never got those games back in the day they are on my want list. Whatever game/games you decide to develop I am willing to purchase.
  9. I just found this today and I have to say it is pretty awesome! I saw the video on you tube and tracked down the rom so I could see in person on my colecovison. I have watched it over and over for the past hour! Who is Krue and what is the story behind this? I love all you homebrew guys, your work is so awesome.
  10. When I opened up the box for my steering wheel controller to make my Turbo video I found a bunch of Coleco warranty cards, some of which I had filled out but never mailed, obviously. The first one was light blue and it has a ColecoVision logo at the top. I think this is the warranty card for the ColecoVision I bought back in the day and I filled in the serial number for it, which is AO935856 and the date 5/11/83. Which is later than I remembered, I thought I had purchased my CV before then, but memory does play tricks sometimes. The other cards that I filled out back then are for the following cartridge warranty games: Donkey Kong Jr. 5/19/83 Space Fury 5/24/83 Smurf Resque 5/25/83 There were many more but I didn't fill any of them out. I also found several warranty cards labeled Coleco Software and one that I filled out was for Smart Letters And Forms but it doesn't have a date. There is a yellow card with the ColecoVision logo and the words Expansion Module Warranty Registration on it, I think this might be the card for the steering wheel itself? Finaly I found a dark pink card that says Roller Controller Warranty Registration but I didn't fill that one out either. I don't know if any of this has any real value or any important information, but I thought I would share something I found that I had totally forgotten about and that I didn't even know I had anymore.
  11. I would like to jump in here and say a big thanks to you Eduardo as well. I sincerly admire your work and dedication to the ColecoVision. Im not sure back in the day after the "crash" I would have expected people like yourself, and others, to still be supporting this console 30 years later. Personally it means a lot, and you have my gratitude for all your hard work. If I can be of any asstistance via my youtube channel feel free to let me know. I hope to see more from you in the future.
  12. From what I recall the instruction manual for the US cartridge version had a few codes you could enter with the keypad while you were in the tunnels to advance to the next screen/mountain.
  13. No problem. I am always willing to help out when I can. Hopefully my overtime situation will end soon and I can make some more gaming videos. But some of the money will be spent on some new games I know that.
  14. My video is now online. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qeX2ghvIidw Sorry it took so long to get it finished with my crazy work schedule. I hope it helps out!
  15. "CV hacks" Ouch.... I really don't think you would think that if you knew how much work, money, time, and effort went to the games that you see and play. Have you mostly just played free roms on the Internet or have you bought and played the games that Collectorvision, Pixelboy, or Opcode have made and sold? Almost all of those games aren't available in rom form with just a few exceptions. When I think of hacks I mostly think of messed up mario bros hacked roms like afro bros that people would never dream of charging a penny for. I would never dream of calling any of the released Colecovision homebrew games "hacks", to me that just sounds insulting even though I'm sure that wasn't what you meant or intended. To be honest I think the word "homebrew" doesn't really even do these games justice as most of the homebrews are even better than a lot of Colecovision games that where released in the 80s. I honestly feel like the games that are made for the Colecovision now are official games that add to the already amazing Colecovision library(although I may be alone in that feeling but that is the way I do feel). I don't see why time(when the game was made) would have anything to do with how "legit" a game is. In fact I'm really not a fan of the name "homebrew" but I just use it sometimes because thats the name everyone uses to describe new games for retro systems. To me its all retro gaming and just as games like DK, River Raid, and many other bring back lots of Nostalgia and are a ton of fun to play, I get the same feeling when I play amazing games like Pacman, Mario Bros, and so many others. I enjoy those games more because I can play them on my Colecovision(my favorite system) when I was never able to before. I'm sure in 10+ years I feel Nostalgia for games that I haven't played before I started playing them as homebrews with games like Mr Chin, Ghost n Zombies, Jeepers Creepers, Sky Jaguar, A.E, plus so many others the list would go on and on, and most importantly they are a ton of fun to play. Plus its fun to play these games with my kids, as they have all the new modern systems, but always come to me and ask to play the Colecovision with me, and nine times out of ten they choose homebrew games to play. So I'm sure when they grow up they'll look at the Colecovision and "homebrew" as nostalgia official games as they are all just fun games to them. They don't say "dad I want to play a homebrew game" they say "dad I want to play Mr Chin or Ghost n Zombies" Just my thoughts and feelings about it, and I'm not saying I'm right and your wrong by any means so please don't take it like that. I just think you should come over and play some homebrew games thats all, as I'm sure one kick a*s night of playing homebrews and drinking brews(I'm assuming your over 21 right ) would definitely change some of those thoughts about Colecovision homebrews I agree 100%. And I would like to say that technically the people that make these games are professional if you go by the definition of the word. I am paraphrasing here but if I recall a professional is, by definition, someone who has great skill at something and another defintion is someone who gets paid to do something. So in that case we have several ColecoVision PROFESSIONALS here. And all of them in my opinion do incredible work.
  16. I just sent money a few minutes ago. If this another April fools joke then I am going to be the first one at your lynching party!
  17. You got me there I fell for it. I hope you had a good laugh.
  18. Welcome to the forum! Always nice to see another person that is into classic game consoles and especially the ColecoVision.
  19. In a way yes. Basically you have to reheat the solder joint then add a bit more solder to it to make certain that everything has a good contact. Sometimes in electronic curcuits something happens called a "cold solder" joint in which the solder didn't quite get as good as a connection that was needed but it will still work and it can work for a while then develop problems. If you look closely at the solder joints with a strong magnifying glass sometimes you can see the problem. I hope this helps.
  20. Hopefully you will enjoy some of the great new homebrew games that have been released, and others that are being released by: Opcode Games Teampixelboy Collectorvision Forgive me if I left anyone out! They all do great work. Top quality games by all of them.
  21. Wow I can't wait to see more photos and any information about this.I always thought that Coleco was way ahead of the others by including the expansion port. From your photo and others I have seen in magazines back in the day they had this in mind from the very beginning.
  22. Glad to see you back in action! Awesome stuff as always from you!
  23. While not technically a delay try playing a racing game on the XboX or PS2! it takes a couple of minutes to select the car type, transmission, car color, race course and etc. I find that a bigger pain IMO. Hope you enjoy the CV!
  24. The training option of the game lets you practice hitting & fielding. True but that doesn't really show the gameplay which I think is what people would like to see.
