  1. Love my 16bit racers : Test Drive - Brilliant : Nigel Mansell - No worries : Micro Machines - Easy : Road Rash - Now we're talking : Lotus 2 - Punishment! It's funny because i have such fond memories of the game yet it's just so damn hard. It's like Kaboom, where it takes that complete blank state of mind with full concentration to play well.

      Amen!

(Only *mostly* 16 bitters, I know...)

(I have a Mario Kart shelf too, NTSC/NTSC-J/PAL).

*Edit*-Lol, somehow I thought I was mebbe the only person in the World that actually likes Nigel Mansel World Championship, haha, it's brutal.

Top Gear, F-Zero, and Mario Kart were always a Blast!

I will say when PlayStation came out though, that the Twisted Metal series showed me that what I really needed in my life were machine guns and missiles (and even MIRVs...)   Now am I alone in thinking somewhere in Twisted Metal 4 that the Awesome weapon called a MIRV was also referred to as a Mirverby?   IDK,  Maybe I dreamed that part ;)

@Rogerpoco Very nice little selection of 16bit racers! Nigel Mansel WC was brilliant and a friend i knew owned it when we were younger. We spent many hours playing it and liked it so much i went out and bought it for myself to play at home. It had great difficulty ramp up and definitely got really hard in the later stages.

@GoldLeader Without a doubt Top Gear was really good. Especially TG2 was a personal favorite with engine upgrades gave that sense of progression. And well Mario Kart was one those awesome games that even those not really into driving games still loved. It really spoke for itself.

Personally with the Test Drive it was one my favorite series on any platform i could get my hands on. The simulation aspect is what really drew me in as it felt like i was really cruising around the streets. The only issue with the series is it always left something to desire. There was no real gameover or goal to be met. Always wished there was a proper goal or even the ability to upgrade the vehicles over time.

As for the 32bit playstation era that Gold had mentioned. I would have to place Gran Turismo 2 as my all time favorite on the system. Colin Mcrae Rally was also alot of fun and spent many hours trying to master it. Now im thinking Toca2 and Destruction Derby we can't forget about either 😉

I could go on all day about awesome racing games lol
