Well as an Australian we're fairly used to wildlife that's dangerous. Although waking up to the cat paralyzed after being bitten by a snake isn't exactly all that fun. Poor fella couldn't move his back legs and had to go to the vet pronto. During receiving antivenom he had a reaction and went into cardiac arrest. They had to bring him back with a shot of adrenaline and start the antivenom process again. He will be in there overnight if all goes well. Might be time for a snake handler to come find the bastard that got him.

Hard to tell, he has been on an IV all day to keep his fluids up. He wasn't showing any signs of improvement earlier and they weren't allowing us to stay (covid BS). Wasn't till they were finishing up for the day, they gave us another call to say he has shown small signs. The biggest worry was they need to guess the antivenom out of 3 common snakes we have. They chose Eastern Brown as they're common around our area.
More to the story i was poking around in the shed and found the snake! He broke it's back and killed it, it's just too bad the snake got him aswell. Wasn't an adult nor a juvenile so it's still a decent size snake for a cat to take on. Probably near the 4ft mark. Either way they brown snakes are just as venomous even if a juvenile.
Anyway he has to stay at the vet overnight and they will be calling us in the morning for an update. He's a tough boy so im hoping he will pull through.
Here is the bite
