  1. Come and pre-order your VCS, with underpowered hardware when announced and wont be shipped until it's 5 year lifespan has expired... Seriously though time is ticking away and those backers still haven't their system. This is like ordering the PS4 when it was announced and still waiting to play it.
  2. Thanks for clearing that up Mike yeah makes sense and probably not worth the hassle reporting it to Microsoft as it will most likely fall on deaf ears. Not a worry i guess it's just a waiting game until/if they get around to fixing their method of using too short signatures. Cheers 👍
  3. No worries cheers, yeah it found them twice on the 19th aswell. I must have missed the notifications and i haven't had them in the past since using ADS (when you released the extension). All good thought id let you know 👍
  4. Windows Defender has alerted of a trojan for some reason
  5. Thought id share this channel to those who may not know about it. Chip music i find very motivating when coding. No i don't know the channel owner or anything so it's not a shameless plug. Just thought others may enjoy and support the channel so they keep up the great music.

  6. Sorry to crash the topic guys, as for the topic at hand i second having the ability to change scanlines per 1%. Atleast with the mouse and 2% via hotkeys or vice versa. Slightly off topic i mentioned awhile ago post #25 about having the ability to change UI theme colours. I am wanting a dark theme (white on black/dark grey) rather then classic or light. Would i have to request this over at Github or is there a specific thread for requests. Or even better yet has this been considered and in the works? Cheers
  7. Yeah i used to play guitar many moons ago. That's all good however with the music generator tool in Visual bB i found it extremely hard to make anything decent. As a result i never used to worry about music and just stuck with simple sfx
  8. follow Looks good mate, might help a cobber like myself out with making music 👍
  9. Did the modem ever make it to market? I know the CD Peripheral did

Here is some good info on it.   Seems like it was sold in good enough numbers at least.   Maybe not as many as the CD unit from what I'm gathering.   Heard 50,000 CD units were sold, the modem was probably even less than that.

Suffice to say, I've had a few occasions where they were available in the community, or ebay, and I could have bought one.   Price was not terrible, but mildly inconvenient at the time.

It's an interesting device, Doom would have been alot of fun depending on the latency. It's too bad the Jag never took off as for 1993 it was a powerful system. With the right software and more devs on board the system could have really impressed. Thanks for the link 👍

Two player Doom in person is a fun "Let's get through the level before the level crashes" thing.   With a modem it would have been crazy bad.

  10. Usually GamePro were pretty on the ball when it came to technical information however i found this answer in the mail section. Looks to me like they were trying to say Atari's and Coleco were 4bit systems.

I knew I read that BITD!  Probably that exact blurb.

It's staggering they actually answered the question when obviously having no idea.

  11. Works with ADS too, however you obviously need to create then using VisualbB. Then just add the titlescreen files to the ADS project directory and the includes. Would be nice to see a stand alone package that features all these nice little tools to use with ADS
  12. Thanks for the prompt fix 👍
  13. I will also note that pitfall II isn't emulating correctly. I have used two different ROMs one of those from Rom Hunters latest pack. Both are showing the same garbled gfx, so im guessing it's an issue with Stella.
  14. Wondering if it's possible to change the theme colours? As in, i know there is Classic however the green can be a bit harsh on my eyes. Im wanting to change it to dark theme with white text, very much like an inverted Light theme. Cheers Edit: Furthermore and just a suggestion the themes could correspond to the three main consoles used. Woody = Standard Vader = Dark theme with white text Junior = Light
  15. RT's Basic Commands page is definitely the place to go for those who know what they're doing. I still find it incredibly useful for cross referencing or looking up something i have forgotten. As RT mentioned i too use ctrl+f to navigate my way around otherwise it can take awhile to find exactly what you're looking for. As for those dipping their feet in the waters the first time, the only suggestion i have is maybe a beginners section?/ Something that gives them a starting point with the very basics like tinkernuts demo. However that would be more work for RT to maintain. Time i run off and save an offline page of Basic Commands before RT makes changes
  16. Are you able to screen cap the output log? Or better yet everything highlighted in red copy and paste here. You should be able to expand the output log window and scroll upwards, post everything that is associated with the last build attempt. Also source code would help pin point the issue if it's a source issue but that's up to you.
  17. Brilliant! Cheers, will be interesting to see how many members are from SA
  18. Hello! Nice to see you have made the club @CyranoJ Name: Anthony Location: Southern Suburbs Interests: Atari to PS1/N64 - dont mind some the newer stuff - Automotive fan
  19. Small update, the oppositions car colour changes depending on the opponent you're racing. I also changed some other colors mainly to keep the luminosity of colors consistent. Nothing major, just small snippets of refinement Changelog Aesthetics - Colours Latest Build: Street Rod 20200528.bin
  20. Having alot of fun with NBA Live 95 for the Genesis. The game still holds up fairly solid for it's age compared to some the other sports games of the time. I like that there is actually plays and somewhat a simulation rather then sprint and dunk. Actually feels rewarding to score and defend. Good game! Now back to my season...

The game definitely has it's quirks that take awhile to get used to. It's solid though and and pretty amazing how well they programmed the AI to respond to certain situations. I have the SNES cart aswell, packed away somewhere in the back room. I have been playing on the emulator for convenience anyway so might see how the SNES version stacks up to Genesis. Been a good decade since playing the game so i was surprised how well it played. Usually i play NBA Jam or NHL which really play solid as well. I cant speak for Madden as i have it but im Australian and really don't know American football all that well. However i will say International Soccer has unforgivable flaws. It used to be a favorite of mine in the day but the gameplay is pretty bad. There is no real strategy, its just boot the ball towards goals and try to score

Cool, status update how they compared!

@Joe C. Well an update :) I fired up the SNES version and as a mini review here is my findings between the two.

Graphics are pretty much on par, most noticeable differences is obviously the text and slightly more detail of the players with SNES.

Sound well i can't pick a winner they both have the same funky beat that sounds great on either system. It's really preference of whether the player likes that gritty Sega Yamaha chip or Nintendo;s Sony chip. I kind of like the gritty Yamaha sound with alot of games however with Live 95 they both sound great.

Gameplay i will have to give to Nintendo believe it or not, despite the advertising ploy back in the day claiming Sega was the master of sporting games... To begin with i was thrown off by separate buttons having individual functions, unlike Sega having the buttons with two or more functions (like modern games).

Other then that, once used to the controls SNES takes the title imo. There is a dedicated steal button and it actually works. Sega's stealing feature is AI controlled meaning the player needs to position on the opponent and wait for the computer to attempt a steal. SNES you can take a swipe and depending the position and circumstance fouls are called if too aggressive or reaching (works well).

SNES version is really easy unless you toggle the rules settings. The most fun i have had is on a harder difficulty setting, then the game plays more realistic otherwise it's just too easy. SNES also has the issue like mentioned by @retrorussell of bad passes and the ball being thrown off court :( Sega doesn't seam to really have this issue.

Anyway in conclusion id say either consumer would be happy, although if having the choice SNES surprisingly tips the scales imo

  21. Think im done with this game as im not seeing much more that needs to be done and motivation isn't all that high ATM. I was going to add regeneration of the city on a points basis, however for what it's worth i really don't think it's necessary. Probably leave the game WIP for now as i have plenty of ROM spare for Easter Eggs when i feel up to the task. As for bugs, family members and myself haven't found any - none have been reported online and the game plays fairly solid, so think im good in that area. Along with keeping this open as WIP for Easter Eggs, there is a chance i may tinker with the colors for aesthetics. I might look into some other interesting projects i have tucked away. I have a few experimental projects that id really like to make happen someday, so maybe one might catch my interest. -Anthony
  22. IMO Reactor is massively underrated, i think because i has one the most simplistic graphics however the gameplay is really solid.
  23. Yeah it's looking good, i was all for this when mentioned as a response to one my similar concerns awhile back. It really gives a place for homebrew to live rather then scattered posts among the other general topics. There is many areas of the AA forums that homebrew gets uploaded to. Many of the AA members tend to hang around a single subtopic they like and don't venture far. Im sure there is homebrew people don't even know about, gets lost in the timeline or in a subsection they never venture. Either way im excited for this new feature as i have a few of my own i would like to upload to the downloads module 👍
  24. IIRC to keep in mind the temp variables are obliterated everytime you call drawscreen (not 100% sure about the standard kernels) as sometimes it depends on what temp variables are used. For single frame calculations i find them useful however personally for random number generation or values i want to read id rather store that value so i can read it and or increment it every frame. I look at it like Russian roulette, it's all about when you pull that trigger it's luck of the draw as to what it lands on. In some cases rand doesn't even need to be used especially when it's not a timed event. rand can be cycle intensive and sometimes the least amount of calculations can make for the better experience. Keep at it and experiment, you will stumble onto what you're looking for 👍
