  1. Bit off topic but my cars name is Sharleen lol I still got my original light sixer unfortunately no cables, PSU or games anymore due to moving and lost in the travels(No idea where it all went). She hasn't got a name though, poor girl sits in the basement collecting dust.
  2. Kaboom! Game: 1BB Score: 918 Mouse does not seem to handle the rapid movements after 4th wave, somehow managed to pull off a 918. Not sure about making a paddle-like controller either, i feel it could be a form of cheating after thinking about it. Anyway i wanna crack the 1,000 mark with the mouse for my own little challenge however not sure if it's possible.
  3. Thanks, although i have to admit there is room for improvement, only played about 10 rounds with each round significantlly improving. I did the same thing with the touchpad to begin with, i noticed it has pros and cons. For one i found it to be very precise giving that paddle like feeling (kind of) however the bad side is when trying to add speed. All hell can break loose ie finger slip's or run's into the edge of the touchpad. It's got the brain ticking as i may head down the local electrical store and have a look for different paddle-like gadgets i can wire to USB. The knob design is great but a slider of some sort keeps springing to mind, see what happens.
  4. Pretty cool, definatly adds another element to HSC and a database that shows a complete list of high scores. Brings back the retro feeling of when you see your name listed in a magazine, great work.
  5. Didn't mean my comment personally just a point i was getting across
  6. Good on ya mate, to be honest E.T was one those game i had countless hours of fun playing back in the day to the point it almost saddnens me to think why people hate it so much. At the end of the day it wasn't all that bad it's just those who never understood it let alone played it to make acusations about it. E.T. By far has many monumental leapes abound many of the games of that era. It's a sheep sydron as i call it as those who never grew up playing ET never earned the respect it deserves. The game really is great and it ticks me off when those who say otherwise . It holds a special place in my heart whether i am a master at it or not it is a nostalgic memory and thats that. Worst game i disagree however most gameplay critisim i have to agree, be all end all it was one my favorites and to me thats all that counts. For example if Super Mario Bros is your all time favorite then let it live to me it's ET, who should say otherwise???.... E.T has so much going for it at the time if you say otherwise you have no idea about the development in gaming, especially from a programmers point of view.
  7. J.Ö.R.G.E.N.Game: 1BB Score: 1,222 I feel like such an a$$ missing the past few weeks, started my own business about 6 weeks ago and juggling mrs, kids and a business is leaving me with no time todo what i want too. I know it's a cop-out but yeah hopefully some free time is on the cards as i kinda miss the fun of HSC, not to mention Yars and pressure cooker which are some personal favorites of mine. Sorry guys.
  8. Was also a Nirvana fan, well was my favorite for a long time in the 90's and still don't mind the odd song every now and then. First thing i disliked when Courtney or Kurt topped himself was no more albums In-Utero was also a personal favorite album, it had that amazing grunge sound and every song was a classic. By far in my opinion it was the perfect album, while Unplugged was great it didn't have that grunge sound (obviously). Bleach also was great with the classic song "love buzz" and Nevermind had some good songs, however In-Utero then Insecticide were the classics for me. Still got all the albums in my CD rack across the room although doubt i will ever get rid of them as they bring back a nostalgic feeling of my teen years. One those bands you can't replace and when Kurt died it was a true loss to the music community.
  9. I don't even bother arguing with those who slander games such as E.T/Pacman ect. It's fairly obvious they know nothing other then a article they have read on the internet or word of mouth smoke on the water. When a conversation like that sparks i usually ask a few questions about other Atari games or related knowledge only true fans know about, they quickly notice how ignorant their knowledge is of the system. Most the time the response is "well i never played much Atari i played Mario bros blah blah blah". Best way is to make them realize they don't know it all.
  10. Reactor Game: 1BB Score: 44,320 Haven't much time whatsoever to play 2600 but had to fire up Reactor for a round, this game is just brilliant. Will try and squeeze some gameplay in tonight and improve my score. Missed out on Yars aswell
  11. After messing around with Stella and using ET's left foot as a sprite position reference with a background tree on the forest stage, i believe there to be no difference at all. Ran numerous times with same results and you cant inch creep (single pixel movement) without it registering energy loss. It looks to me that 1 energy variable is lost per x or y pixel movement. You can slightly tap the opposite direction as to E.T is facing and it registers by flipping the sprite without moving a pixel however no energy is lost unless he actually moves on the x/y plain. I am thinking the energy variable is tied to the x and y axis rather then detection of controller inputs. You can also fast move without using 10 energy as you would normally when stretching his neck. So unless you actually stretch his neck the fire button will not subtract any additional energy. Two screen shots showing reference points i used
  12. Pac Man cart is suitable for the eating concept, really cool almost looks too good to eat
  13. That's pretty cool im with Hyperboy would be great if we could have a read, if it's not classified so to speak.
  14. 15. I am not going to lie when i seen the line up for the fortnight kinda [email protected] myself Definitely one my favorite games however i was never that good. Working on a score but nothing i feel worthy to post yet, the scientist and FBI agent are not playing in my favor.
  16. Alien Game: 1BB Score: 36,216 Had a bit of a lucky run, was struggling to hit the 20,000 mark prior.
  17. Nice selection of games, especially E.T as it brings back that nostalgia feeling. Played it alot as a child yet i was never that good, now it's time to complete it with a decent score.
  18. For me DOS was where it was at, those classic games like Duke Nukem(2d platform ones), Commander Keen, Street Rod, Wolf3d, Dangerous Dave 2, Leisure Suite Larry and the list goes on and on. Going from all those great games to windows 3.11 and 95 sucked, the Mac OS was fairly useless back then too. Problem i had was half my DOS games were a pain in the a$$ to run on those windows OS's. To be honest i downgraded back to DOS till Win98B came out and wasn't till XP in 2001 where they finally produced a arguably decent OS.
  19. Leaps and bounds ahead of the original and faithful to the coin op. Never minded pac man when i was a lad although if this was around back then it would probably of been a classic 2600 game.
  20. Pretty cool, Artillery Duel shows the whole worms idea could be done as a homebrew. Was a great game in the day and even though there was a human vs cpu game mode it was always a two player game.
  21. Ikari WarriorsGame: 1BB Score: 31,600 Slight improvement
