  1. Thanks, yeah that's what i was doing so all good. Wasn't much information in the manual and last time i watched Rambo movies was in the 90's. Amazing scores by the way
  2. Opps, maybe i should have read the manual completely, i kept shooting him. Wonder how many points i have been loosing by not saving him
  3. Ikari Warriors Game: 1BB Score: 28,100 This game is definitely brutal, very small improvement but struggling in the second level/round.
  4. We all seen PlayStation's and Xbox's thrown in pimped out rides, i even put a ps2 in my car however i was browsing around and found this pimped out 79 Buick with a Sears 2600 and CRT TV. Kind of spoiled with the CD player off to the right although pretty cool nonetheless. http://www.engadget.com/2007/10/12/1979-buick-riviera-gets-pimped-atari-style/ My old 2004 XR6 Ute with a PS2
  5. Moonsweeper < another amazing looking mouse pad IMO, not so sure about that E.T pic as it resembles more the movie rather then the 2600 program. EDIT On second thought the E.T would probably look good when printed on the fabric adding contrast.
  6. Ikari Warriors Game: 1BB Score: 27,700 Actually really got into this last night for a few hours, gotta give this program some credit there is alot going on. From jumping in and out of tanks, gates, buildings to throwing grenades and shooting infantry. Defiantly on par with Activisions Commando, the tactic of taking it slow blows out the water when you hit the 24,000 mark. Gotta stay on your toes from then on or you can loose lives in a heart beat.
  7. Yeah back in the day they used assembly so something else other then missile0 could be sacrificed. bB is a homebrew IDE developed by Batari mainly so you dont need to learn assembly to program a 2600 program i believe. So there still is hardware limitations it's just bB chooses the missile0
  8. Great explanation, it makes sense so assembly you chose the tradeoff and in bB it's predetermined. Cheers
  9. Agreed, looks amazing i want one now
  10. I believe it does although i have never tried it out as never owned one, would actually probably work really well
  11. Looking into bB's kernal settings there is limitations when using paddles, you loose the use of missile0(player ones missile). Also you loose both missiles if multicolor sprites are used, most likely the reason why shooters rarely used paddle controls. Pong/breakout like games only use player sprites and the ball, so obviously missiles are not needed. Interesting EDIT: Come to think of it anyone know if that's just a bB limitation or hardware?
  12. Decathlon for sure, it was one those games that destroyed controllers. If it were paddle and a had a precision timing aspect is in fluent motion rather then as fast as you can go it would be brilliant. The further the turn the longer/faster the stride however must start off slow then build up to longer stride and faster pace, it would add precision challenge without breaking controllers.
  13. Nice to see Phoenix getting some love, maybe Millipede and E.T
  14. Yeah i only found the FB and twitter accounts aswell maybe gotta be a member on their forums or something
  15. I have no doubt's an email will get sent around the Activision office about this one, nice work
  16. Yeah the keypad's, probably the reason why it interested me so much having all those buttons i could press . Was kinda cool though, had to work out patterns with the code and what not
  17. Reactor by Parker Bros: Booted it up, took one look and thought 'you got to be joking' however within minutes i was hooked and wouldn't hesitate to place in my top 20 favorites. Mountain King by CBS: Really did not like pressing up to jump although the gameplay is fairly solid. Code Breaker by Atari: Believe it or not but i received the game as a present back in the day, well it wasn't much of a game but as it was in my collection i gave it a go. Turned out for some odd reason i actually enjoyed playing it regularly.
  18. For the bonus i will have to go with the chopper from chopper command, just like the scene where Rambo takes down the chopper with an arrow
  19. Preffrence order then pro's and con's of my opinion First - 2600 Pros - Great software, simple but relevant controls, unique gameplay and first system i owned Cons - Fraction of the software is bad apples also a couple of frustrating limitations on the programming side. Second - 7800 Pros - Backwards compatibility, revamped graphics. Cons - Lack of software, late release date and insignificant attention to audio in development. Third - 5200 Pros - More faithful to the Arcade ports, kind of a cool looking system and the RF/PSU rolled into one design is pretty cool. Cons - Poor controllers, competition like CV hindered sales and badly timed release date (during the "crash"). Forth - Jaguar Pros - Very interesting hardware design, very powerful for its time and well the game Doom as it shows what the system could do. Cons - Many bad apples when it comes to software, controller design was a little dated and shear cost on launch. Had to list a forth as the Jag is a fascinating system.
  20. Rain, hot coffee and a 2600 game is quite a peaceful atmosphere

  21. Zaxxon Game: 1BB Score: 34,800 Thought i would sneak in a slight improvement, been busy like a blue a$$ fly.
  22. Thanks mate, yeah i tend to have more trouble with the placement after loosing a life more then the sidewinder punks however they are a real pain when the intensity heats up.
