  1. Well there isnt much you can do with king kong, the color side of things is easy but it all comes down to the picture you have in your head. The best bet is to use HOM and GFX hack them how you want it to look, if you post the ROM here i can change the colors to what you want.
  2. There's already a Stella port to Android here. By all accounts it's in very good shape (I haven't personally used it, since I don't have an Android device). Have that. Its ok... Better than just about every aos atari emulator ive tried, but not nearly as good as classic stella. Seriously pay no attention to the naysayers calling stella "buggy". Few emulators for any systems are 100%,but your definently closest to it as far as the atari is concerned. Id realy like to see a tutorial on practical use of the debugger. Anyone out there up to the challenge? Ps are you able to view your ASM source code in the debugger instead of raw opcodes and numonics? Yeah id like to see a tutorial on the debugger in Stella also, just the simple things like when scaning colors it tells the player0 color but i still havent figured out how to save the color i want. So yeah i have to do it the hard way with a text editor search the hex value while changing untill i get the effect i want. If its possible that the debugger shows the adress line would be great but i dont know. Or if i could like you said view ASM code that would be even better. Im all for a degug tutorial, it would help heaps
  3. My vote is for Starmaster by Activision, loved that game as a young lad it may not be that hard but still fun
  4. Thats awesome i want his software as a musician myself
  5. I dont know if its any help but the is a You Tube clip "How to make a Atari 2600 game" At the start he shows how to set it up. I just followed it word for word and had no problems with it. Only problems i have is with my code itself, just thought i would share it as there maybe something you missed on installation. I do know there is a few things you need to install but on the video there is a link with everything in a single executable setup file
  6. Thanks for sharing the awesome little game that was fun and worked out all 3 puzzles Keep up the good work
  7. Edit: Ok fixed that and now i can get it to run however cant start it lol ,ill just keep working on it newtest1.bas.bin
  8. Thanks alot for the help i fixed the missing value for the missile but have an syntax error with the file im trying to compile.
  9. Ok reading on with your tips looks like i got alot to learn but anyway i put the code in a notepad++ bB.txt
  10. Oh ok thanks here is the bas file i have found in the folder i was trying to upload and yeah i fully understand about people demanding answers. If you can find the time to have a look that would be great and i will still keep looking over my code to find out what i have done wrong. Thanks againdefault.bas
  11. Hi im just starting off using bB but i have ran into a little problem that when i have compiled the code it runs but is just a flashing screen? Probably sounds a bit silly but if some one could point out what i done wrong in the code would be great. Thanks. Oh it seems my project didnt compile or something it says 0k and isnt bas.bin just bas. So how am i going to show the code does AA allow people to post code?
  12. Why not just use an emulator? Stella is fairly accurate now and is only getting better i have a 2600 console but use emulator. You can always use an old PC with Svideo out and pug it straight to the CRT. Yeah its real fun to play on original hardware but i say collect it in mint condition and play emulator. I find PC is more reliable as you can keep backing it up if your hard drive fails not to mention emulation looks better on LCD/LED TV's. My next project is going to be an emulator box or Arcade machine but not sure what to build first
  13. Well here is another one i said i would make with a revamped DK jr Sprite, still not that good but atleast he doesnt look so much like the gingerbread man lolDonkey Kong (Hack).bin.a26 Edit: I forgot to mention that DK will jump left and right this is not a bug because its a single sprite that flips in reverse and back again. You will notice on the original DK he does the same but its a front on view, this trick saves space rather then using two sprites for animation.
  14. Here is a small one i done changed Jumpmans nose a little, the barrels dont look like Pizza's and slightly changed DK himself. Also the teapot looking enemy's in stage two are just a random sprite i made not to sure if i happy with them though. All i know is the DK sprite doesnt have much room to play with so design is very limited. However im think of modifying a DKjr sprite to replace DK but gotta see if it looks ok. Anyway have a look if you want Donkey Kong (Hack).bin.a26
  15. Have you tried it on a VCR? Also try to swap out the power supply if you can although i know Atari stuff can be very hard to come by in Australia. Might want to check out the RF cable as i know my 2600 jr began to give me problems ,lucky the jr can be replaced with a VCR cable.
  16. Was never a fan of mac computers ,i always wanted to like them as they looked so different and mysterious but never could. Thing is i started with Dos on the PC side of things then followed onto Win 3.11 and so forth. As a young lad my two first computers ever were a IBM 286 running Dos of course and an Atari 2600. I used to actually like looking through the directory (dir/p) and typing .exe on the end of the run file lol. Was sorta like a game in it self. However i do find the other apple products very cool indeed like the Ipod ,iphone and pad are great products. its just IBM Dos and Atari2600 i have a soft spot for. RIP Steve
  17. Klax is a awesome game and the last to be made
  18. Check your Difficulty Switches Brilliant thanks for that i didnt even think of it ,like i said im from Australia and grew up with the PAL but when i went on the emulator with NTSC i noticed it auto firing. To start with i thought my PC was having a hissy fit but realized it was only that game. Thanks for that now i have to mod the NTSC version also
  19. Congratulations and really good for your first homebrew mate
  20. Personally i dont think a graphic hack will help as the sprites are already fairly good for the 2600 ,only the alligator's sprite looks bad. Note that i said sprite as it is just one sprite that reverses making it look like two. So in other words i say it would need to be coded just for that simple graphic hack. Other then that to add vine restructure with two additional stages the game would need a complete work over. Would be impressive and nice to see none the less
  21. Sounds like Joust where you are a small bird running and hitting other birds turning them into eggs to collect ,or if its a sorta 3d game Desert Falcon
  22. @ Save2600 Yeah i found it a bit odd as the PAL version you can just hold down the fire button and it auto fires anyway. I was the same tho ,never knew because i grew up as a kid with the PAL version in Australia. I sorta like it better as i can time my shots rather then auto fire the whole time. Awesome game never the less ,was always one the first carts id throw in the system
  23. I like Vanguard and was one my favorites back in the day ,only thing i did not like was the shrimp sprites. Funny you speak of this game i just made a hack yesterday to change the choppers, balls, shrimp and arrows. They are now different style choppers the balls are space mines ,shrimp are UFO's with magnetic force field and arrows look more like space ships. I uploaded a .bin in the 2600 hacks section of the forum but is PAL version as i did not like the auto fire on NTSC version
