  1. Obviously you cant just copy paste a rom itself you need to make it into a file the eprom supports and the 2600 itself can comprehend.

I thought the bin dumps are already in the correct format for the eprom's and 2600 console ,isnt it practically the same as dumping it to a harmony cart?

  2. Looks like one dude is making a killing off these carts and consoles ,selling them one cart a piece at no lower then $20. Some ridicules prices at $500 and $700 for a console!! I havent been on ebay for a while but thats a joke and its all from the same seller. I would start looking at getting one from the States and weigh up the price ,or can just keep an eye out for decent priced one local

  3. Yeah but should not be to hard to fix that problem as when i bought my coax adapter i bought a pack that contains attachments that can change female to male vice verse. You should be able to buy a Y 2 into 1 adapter and find the female to male ends in a dedicated electrical store. Also when i was in the store i noticed they had loose adapter attachments in trays rather then buying a pack or (standard) single coax adapter

  4. What about an Atari power glove!! haha. I do think it could be really fun with the 2600 tho as some them paddle games and Adventure ect......If designed well of course ,however i do not know how the legal side of things would work.

  5. I think thats a great idea as you can slowly build up a collection of all games with whatever lables you desire ,however i do agree with disjaukifa on the sales side of things. Other then that i would not mind doing the same myself ,for all cart based consoles i have. Personally the collection of hundreds of games you have produced your self would be something i would be very proud of ,not to mention look very cool. I sure some of the veterans on AA can help you out when they see the topic you have posted

  6. I know one i used to do as a kid on Adventure ,it is not much and only a glitch but i thought i will share.

Some may know this and already experimented with Adventure doing this but you can get into the top of the black castle.

just get the bridge ,carry it to the red room on the bottom right of the map and lay it across the bottom wall.

Can do it to the yellow and white castles also just by experimenting going through walls with the bridge

  7. Not sure if you know this but have you tuned it in? When you go to channel 3 turn on the system with a cart inserted and the RF adapter in the antenna input.

Now depending on your TV if it has an auto channel scan it will be found in the menu options ,scan for stations on channel 3 and the first station it should find will be the Atari2600.

  8. Thats what i was thinking they look to me like F-104's “Starfighters” while the other old ww1 looking fighter on the left looks like a Vickers F.B.5 Gunbus. The Tank looks to me like a Sherman M4A4 but not enough detail in the drawing to determine

  9. i was born in 83 and first time i fell in love with the 2600 was when i was 4 or 5 i went with my parents to a party at a friends house. Because i was one the only kids there they let me play their VCS 2600 so i had something to do.

Still remember it was Missile Command and i had the best time playing it with all the different colors as i passed stages. Trouble they hard then was i cracked a big stink having a big cry when it was time to go home :)

Following birthday (1988) my mum bought me a 2600jr with three games Realsports boxing,Midnight Magic and Adventure. Was very happy but wanted to play that other game known as Missile Command.

About 6 months later friends of family found out i had a 2600 and where throwing games at me left ,right and center.

I had 41 carts in total before getting my SNES ,including my beloved Missile Command along with some very good titles.

Unfortunately i never had Pitfall though but had others like Missile Command,Dig Dug,Decathlon,Air Sea,Combat,Adventure,Megamania,Planet Patrol,Defender,Phoenix,Vangard,Venture and many more i feel in love with.

Every time i play one of them games it just makes memories run through my brain ,as does the SNES and Sega also with Mortal Kombat and other titles like that

  10. What i get bummed about is when people throw their old systems in the bin rather then sell them to others or a thrift shop!

Sucks big time when they do this as i find it a waste because some other people could get enjoyment out of it.

I have saved consoles in the past when friends decide they are going to throw them out.

Makes these old school classic games become very rare and hard to find other then ebay and so forth.

I go into my local game shops and all i find is way over priced SNES carts ,never any consoles ,maybe if i am having a very lucky day at a garage sale i will find something.

    TT2600 is unhappy :(

  11. 99 percent of the time i will play all my games with sound effects on but no in game music depending on the game/console i am using. However i play my own music with the sound effects about level so it sounds like in game but my music.

Of course there are some games on Playstation and PC i have to play full audio but if i play my own music i still need some sound effects

  12. If its coming up with just a black screen and you or others may not like this idea but i do it to test bad connection pins.

When you insert the cart (totally optional) wedge a piece of card in front of the cart and console itself. Make it so it apply's a little pressure holding the cart in a firm backward position. What this does is makes sure the slot pins are getting a good connection.

I do this when a cart console's give me the black screen or a pixel mess with horrible sounds. Supper Nintendo's always do this and a simple card wedged in the front tells me straight away. The problem i speak of is just general wear of the cart slot pins ,im not sure if it your problem but it may help. Good luck
