Kerzreb for the Atari 2600 (My Berzerk Hack)
TwentySixHundred replied to disjaukifa's topic in Atari 2600 Hacks
Nice job Berzerk is such a great game -
Im from Australia too and yes most our older TV's do not need a coax adapter it should plug straight in. Have you tuned in the Atari like its a TV station? As long as its connected to the RF input turn the Atari's power on and do a station scan on the TV. Even if its just a black screen it should find that ,and no the VCS does not make any noise when on. If still nothing try another TV if nothing again sounds like there could be a problem with the system ,also someone you know may know about tuning Atari's/VCR's in

How do you change colors on Atari 2600 games?
TwentySixHundred replied to Pac-Man Vs Puck-Man's topic in Atari 2600 Hacks
Can it be done with bithacker? -
Sounds like something shorted frying a capacitor or resistor ,hope it can be fixed. If it cant i personally world swap out the whole MB from the light 6er if that possible ,just to keep the h6 going

So bankswitching was a common thing back in them days? Does anyone think or know if the Activision team used the bankswitching method to make such detailed games ,like Pitfull and Hero ect? Those games just amaze me how they fit them on 4k carts -
I like this game alot and cant wait to see a 4k version ,really fun

Are you sure its not a blue label like Asteroids?

I thought the bin dumps are already in the correct format for the eprom's and 2600 console ,isnt it practically the same as dumping it to a harmony cart? -
So I'm a total noob and looking into buying a 2600.
TwentySixHundred replied to BlueMaxima's topic in Atari 2600
Looks like one dude is making a killing off these carts and consoles ,selling them one cart a piece at no lower then $20. Some ridicules prices at $500 and $700 for a console!! I havent been on ebay for a while but thats a joke and its all from the same seller. I would start looking at getting one from the States and weigh up the price ,or can just keep an eye out for decent priced one local -

Bad luck ,i was looking at this 2600JR and it still has the protective plastic film on the aluminum strip. It looks brand new and for $40 is a really good deal ...... it's so tempting -

Have a look on Gum Tree also ,i dont know where you live but im in Adelaide and there are 3 consoles in SA alone. One of them is a 2600 JR going for $40 -

Personally i think some games look better with PAL colour while others in NTSC ,all depends on the game and personal preference. Other then that just like Amstari said you dont have much time to admire the colours anyway -
Yeah but should not be to hard to fix that problem as when i bought my coax adapter i bought a pack that contains attachments that can change female to male vice verse. You should be able to buy a Y 2 into 1 adapter and find the female to male ends in a dedicated electrical store. Also when i was in the store i noticed they had loose adapter attachments in trays rather then buying a pack or (standard) single coax adapter

What about an Atari power glove!! haha. I do think it could be really fun with the 2600 tho as some them paddle games and Adventure ect......If designed well of course ,however i do not know how the legal side of things would work.
-
Just get a coax adapter they are about $2 from most local electrical stores

I think thats a great idea as you can slowly build up a collection of all games with whatever lables you desire ,however i do agree with disjaukifa on the sales side of things. Other then that i would not mind doing the same myself ,for all cart based consoles i have. Personally the collection of hundreds of games you have produced your self would be something i would be very proud of ,not to mention look very cool. I sure some of the veterans on AA can help you out when they see the topic you have posted -

I say local PAL 2600 with a harmony cart and your good to go ,then NTSC if your not happy with the colour pallet -

TwentySixHundred replied to Tempest's topic in Atari 2600
I know one i used to do as a kid on Adventure ,it is not much and only a glitch but i thought i will share. Some may know this and already experimented with Adventure doing this but you can get into the top of the black castle. just get the bridge ,carry it to the red room on the bottom right of the map and lay it across the bottom wall. Can do it to the yellow and white castles also just by experimenting going through walls with the bridge -
Not sure if you know this but have you tuned it in? When you go to channel 3 turn on the system with a cart inserted and the RF adapter in the antenna input. Now depending on your TV if it has an auto channel scan it will be found in the menu options ,scan for stations on channel 3 and the first station it should find will be the Atari2600.

Thats what i was thinking they look to me like F-104's “Starfighters” while the other old ww1 looking fighter on the left looks like a Vickers F.B.5 Gunbus. The Tank looks to me like a Sherman M4A4 but not enough detail in the drawing to determine
