  1. I don't even bother arguing with those who slander games such as E.T/Pacman ect. It's fairly obvious they know nothing other then a article they have read on the internet or word of mouth smoke on the water. When a conversation like that sparks i usually ask a few questions about other Atari games or related knowledge only true fans know about, they quickly notice how ignorant their knowledge is of the system. Most the time the response is "well i never played much Atari i played Mario bros blah blah blah". Best way is to make them realize they don't know it all.
  2. Reactor Game: 1BB Score: 44,320 Haven't much time whatsoever to play 2600 but had to fire up Reactor for a round, this game is just brilliant. Will try and squeeze some gameplay in tonight and improve my score. Missed out on Yars aswell
  3. After messing around with Stella and using ET's left foot as a sprite position reference with a background tree on the forest stage, i believe there to be no difference at all. Ran numerous times with same results and you cant inch creep (single pixel movement) without it registering energy loss. It looks to me that 1 energy variable is lost per x or y pixel movement. You can slightly tap the opposite direction as to E.T is facing and it registers by flipping the sprite without moving a pixel however no energy is lost unless he actually moves on the x/y plain. I am thinking the energy variable is tied to the x and y axis rather then detection of controller inputs. You can also fast move without using 10 energy as you would normally when stretching his neck. So unless you actually stretch his neck the fire button will not subtract any additional energy. Two screen shots showing reference points i used
  4. Pac Man cart is suitable for the eating concept, really cool almost looks too good to eat
  5. That's pretty cool im with Hyperboy would be great if we could have a read, if it's not classified so to speak.
  6. 7. I am not going to lie when i seen the line up for the fortnight kinda cr@pped myself Definitely one my favorite games however i was never that good. Working on a score but nothing i feel worthy to post yet, the scientist and FBI agent are not playing in my favor.
  8. Alien Game: 1BB Score: 36,216 Had a bit of a lucky run, was struggling to hit the 20,000 mark prior.
  9. Nice selection of games, especially E.T as it brings back that nostalgia feeling. Played it alot as a child yet i was never that good, now it's time to complete it with a decent score.
  10. For me DOS was where it was at, those classic games like Duke Nukem(2d platform ones), Commander Keen, Street Rod, Wolf3d, Dangerous Dave 2, Leisure Suite Larry and the list goes on and on. Going from all those great games to windows 3.11 and 95 sucked, the Mac OS was fairly useless back then too. Problem i had was half my DOS games were a pain in the a$$ to run on those windows OS's. To be honest i downgraded back to DOS till Win98B came out and wasn't till XP in 2001 where they finally produced a arguably decent OS.
  11. Leaps and bounds ahead of the original and faithful to the coin op. Never minded pac man when i was a lad although if this was around back then it would probably of been a classic 2600 game.
  12. Nice work so far, will be keeping a close eye on this one
  13. Pretty cool, Artillery Duel shows the whole worms idea could be done as a homebrew. Was a great game in the day and even though there was a human vs cpu game mode it was always a two player game.
  14. Ikari WarriorsGame: 1BB Score: 31,600 Slight improvement
  15. Thanks, yeah that's what i was doing so all good. Wasn't much information in the manual and last time i watched Rambo movies was in the 90's. Amazing scores by the way
  16. Opps, maybe i should have read the manual completely, i kept shooting him. Wonder how many points i have been loosing by not saving him
  17. Ikari Warriors Game: 1BB Score: 28,100 This game is definitely brutal, very small improvement but struggling in the second level/round.
  18. We all seen PlayStation's and Xbox's thrown in pimped out rides, i even put a ps2 in my car however i was browsing around and found this pimped out 79 Buick with a Sears 2600 and CRT TV. Kind of spoiled with the CD player off to the right although pretty cool nonetheless. http://www.engadget.com/2007/10/12/1979-buick-riviera-gets-pimped-atari-style/ My old 2004 XR6 Ute with a PS2
  19. Moonsweeper < another amazing looking mouse pad IMO, not so sure about that E.T pic as it resembles more the movie rather then the 2600 program. EDIT On second thought the E.T would probably look good when printed on the fabric adding contrast.
  20. Ikari Warriors Game: 1BB Score: 27,700 Actually really got into this last night for a few hours, gotta give this program some credit there is alot going on. From jumping in and out of tanks, gates, buildings to throwing grenades and shooting infantry. Defiantly on par with Activisions Commando, the tactic of taking it slow blows out the water when you hit the 24,000 mark. Gotta stay on your toes from then on or you can loose lives in a heart beat.
  21. Yeah back in the day they used assembly so something else other then missile0 could be sacrificed. bB is a homebrew IDE developed by Batari mainly so you dont need to learn assembly to program a 2600 program i believe. So there still is hardware limitations it's just bB chooses the missile0
  22. Great explanation, it makes sense so assembly you chose the tradeoff and in bB it's predetermined. Cheers
  23. Agreed, looks amazing i want one now
  24. I believe it does although i have never tried it out as never owned one, would actually probably work really well
