Intellivision Purchases and Deals
AlvinKarpis replied to IntellivisionDude's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
Im posting this here because this is my home, and the guy did have an INTV 2 with 40 games that he sold to his friend before I contacted him! I saw a listing on Craigs List for an Atari 5200 with Trackball that works! So I emailed him and gave him my cell # and he texted me back So I made him an offer and he accepted. Ends up he had a two port 5200 (which is awesome because I just bought a 4 port off of Ebay because I was dying to get a 5200 to play the awesome arcade ports) So I get it hoe and the system the controllers and the track ball all work perfectly! What are the chances of finding a working 5200 in the wild with working controllers?! So when I was leaving I said hey if you have any other vintage systems or games text me That night he texted me that he had a Commodore 64 with all the extras and over 200 games that worked flawlessly, along with a Sega Master System that worked like a charm with 20 or so games I trusted him and I jknew he took good care of his systems, so I made him and offer and after some back and forth we made a deal! An awesome deal So from this guy on Craigs List I got Atari 5200 w trackball and working controllers Commodore 64 with every add on you could dream of and 200+ games, 2 original Commodore moniters that both work Sega Master System with the Light gun and two controllers with 20games (including my 2 all time favorite Sega games, Out Run and Afterburner) Everything works great, as soon as each system was hooked up it fired up right away and I played some games to check everything out and it all works! My best purchase in the wild for sure Im very excited -
Here is the explanation "ARCADE NETWORK It was obvious that Mattel was at a disadvantage in doing arcade game conversions: Atari, through its coin-op division, created and owned many of the most famous arcade titles. Mattel had to go shopping at other arcade game companies, trying to license whatever popular games were left over. There was an alternative which many programmers and a number of Marketing people favored: create good, original arcade-type games for Intellivision, promote them, then license those titles to outside coin-op companies; the companies would get the benefit of Mattel's advertising, and Mattel would benefit from a line of Intellivision coin-op machines in the arcades. Thus was born the Arcade Network. However, while the first Arcade Network game, Vectron, was in development, Mattel Electronics signed a deal with Data East for the first option on their arcade games. Data East became, in effect, Mattel's coin-op division and Marketing lost interest in the idea of developing original arcade titles in-house. Aside from a big push in the Intellivision Game Club News (Issue 5, Spring 1983), Vectron was released with no promotion and no attempt was made at licensing it to outside companies. There was no second Arcade Network game. The Arcade Network box color was burgundy."

Donkey Kong: Better than originally thought?
AlvinKarpis replied to BassGuitari's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
I still play DK on my INTV (even though I own DK Arcade) I can score over 100k at will, but I need to fire it up again because im so used to DK arcade now that I bet I could rock the original DK for 150-200k I mean compared to all the other DK releases its lacking for sure, but I always find myself having fun when I play it -
Vectron is hard to understand even after I read the instructions! (which 99% of the time clears up old Atari, Coleco and INTV games that im having trouble with)

How much would you pay...
AlvinKarpis replied to IntellivisionGuy97's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
I would pay $845.00 without even batting an eye But $850.00? Thats ludicrous! -
Anybody know who the Ebayer named shaydoobie is? If your reading this I hope that last bid on your 2 port 5200 hurt.

Wow, I feel your pain My wifes favorite Intellivision game? You guessed it....... Royal Dealer At first it was Snafu. which was great when we played together But now I will come home and catch her playing Royal Dealer like she owns the Intellivision At first I would always have to get the INTV down and hook it up (thats if the NES was hooked up in its place) and put the game in and fire it up for her Now she gets it rocking all on her own I feel so useless now The only good thing is that she only plays it a couple times a week Now Tetris on the other hand she plays daily -
intellivision.us releases , no topic?
AlvinKarpis replied to lucifershalo's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
What is controversial about him? I dealt with him directly on buying DK Arcade and not only did he contact me he sold it for a great price And he was a very nice guy who kept me updated during the entire purchase and shipped as soon as my payment cleared -
Super Mario 3 or Super Mario World?
AlvinKarpis replied to toptenmaterial's topic in Classic Console Discussion
This is exactly how I feel And no doubt SMW is awesome, I love it But SMB3 is in my blood stream, I think I played it for 6 months straight after it was released, it never left my NES -

Obviously whats wrong is you have no idea how to make an NES cart work Hey settle down, two mods said knock it off and all your doing is continuing an argument for no reason. Lets all take a chill pill and take deep breaths. Settle down? I had no idea I was excited This female member sent me a PM talking smack and then deleted it right when I tried to reply to her So there is a reason, not that you have a clue about that

Jarvis was talking about hitting 1 million on 5 man setting with no extra lives which has only been done once by John McAllister Getting to 10 million with an extra man every 20k points is not as hard as getting 1 million on tourny settings Here is my Tournament settings high score
