  1. Bought a box of junk, but almost the entire box was various gaming items I have been looking for to complete games, pieces, etc. It was like a dream come true.

Anyway - I am absolutely pleased! Thanks!

  2. Hey guys, just saw this - posted today. If someone can grab it from AA, please do! I so wish I could get this but I'm focusing time and money on other things so I'll have to wait my turn. Anyway, here's the link

Looks extremely clean. If it works then this is a steal. Let AA know if you get this!

I called but got no answer.

  3. Can't say enough good things about this man - he is honest, trustworthy, and decent. Got my BOC #2 and Solar Fox for the 2600 recently. Superb purchases at fantastic prices as always. For all you do, this AX is for you!

  4. What can I say? I GOT MY 1200XL!!! It arrived JUST AS DESCRIBED and I was able to repair the keyboard to 98% working capacity. Everything arrived quickly and well packed. Brad, you de MAN! (cavearcade). Thanks again!

  5. I forgot I had this - our recent move unearthed this Mac install DVD and I don't have a Mac anymore so I may as well sell it. Mac OS X 10.4.6 MA453Z with iWork '06 trial. I don't have the manual any more but I am including two other manuals. The DVD installs perfectly and was last used about two years ago. The box is pretty beat up. Anyway, $50 shipped. If that's too much then make me an offer. Thanks a bunch!

  6. I have tinkered around with some of my favorite 8 bit music of all time (along with Ultima III) - Ultima IV by Kenneth Arnold. I took a few of the tunes and 'orchestrated' them - that is, I did my best to transcribe a few of the tunes and create an orchestral version of them using my Yamaha Motif ES8 keyboard (that is one large, heavy keyboard!). Anyway, it's far from perfect and still sounds like a keyboard attempting to make orchestral sounds, so you know how that goes! Anyway, I just did this because I enjoy the music and wanted to try my hand at some orchestral versions of these songs. Please let me know what you think. I'm very open to likes/dislikes and suggestions. My next project is going to be a rock version of some Alternate Reality music - my second favorite 8 bit music. Anyway, enjoy! (I hope!)

  7. DosBox is finicky and is based on the sub directories being correct. You should be able to drag the install.exe or Kyrandia.exe file to the DosBox app and have it automatically set the sub directories for repeat use. You can try putting the Kyrandia folder on your c: drive and the DosBox folder on the desktop, then make a duplicate of the install file and drag it to the DosBox app (at least I think that's how it works - it's been a while since I've used DosBox so my info may be a bit crappy). Hope that helps.

  8. I remember seeing a kiosk at Best Buy around 8 years ago. I bought the DC out of the Kiosk for $35 and it included all of the cables, two controllers, a memory card, a rumble card, and Crazy Taxi 2! I never even thought of asking if I could purchase the whole enchilada, but maybe I should have! I have no chance getting in on this since I live in California, but hopefully someone will add this to their booty. What a great 'furniture' piece to have in the house (gentlemen, present it this way to your wives and maybe ... just maybe ...)

  9. I've decided to go the all boxed route for my vintage systems and games - They display nicely and I can still use the systems when I want to. Anyway, I'll try the 'empty box' route first before I start selling or replacing systems. I am looking for empty boxes for the following (original packing would be nice but is not necessary):

    Atari 800

    Atari 810

    Atari 1050

    Atari 5200

Atari 1200xl (I am finally getting my 1200xl thanks to mancavearcade! What a great guy!)

    Commodore 128

    Commodore 64

    Commodore 1571

    Commodore Vic 1541

    Intellivision III

    Odyssey 2

    Sega Genesis (model 2)

    Sega CD

    NES

    SNES

Aquarius (thanks to cncfreak for the great mattel computer!)

N64 (not vintage but I do love my N64)

I have the following boxed systems/peripherals so I'm not looking for these:

    Atari 2600, Atari 7800, Atari 400, Atari 410, Atari 130XE, Vic-20, TI 99-4A, Dreamcast

Any C64, Vic-20, 2600, 7800, 5200 or 8 bit empty game boxes would help too.

I am not using the systems as much as I used to but I would still like to have a nice display when they are not being used. Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it. I know that's a lot of boxes to be looking for but hey - it's me!
