I was out of town today on business and i found a mall...went in to KB Toys and sure enough...$14.99 on a table right in the front of the store...asked the lady to check the price...rang up as $10...so I finally found one...lol...played it for about an hour or so tonight...pretty cool...can't wait to hack it. I picked up two, one to keep and one to hack...for $10 you can't go wrong...this is the best of these systems on a stick by far. I also noticed thay had a Madden 95 unit and a Sega 2 which is red instead of blue and has Sonic 2 on it and all that sort of thing.

Totally wrong, Blu-Ray has over three times as many signees, including Disney and Fox as well as Sony. Blu-Ray is no joke. Universal, which originally comitted to HD-DVD is expected to bail out any day now. HD-DVD simply isn't good enough. last i heard it was the exact opposite...haven't been following it closely...I heard Dell and two thirds of the major film companies had gone with the other format instead of Sony...I'll read up on it some and see what the news is now.

yeah...but the major studios have all signed on with the other technology already...so...uphill once again for Sony...

Thats another thing...Sony and their Blu Ray deal...that's going to end up just like the Beta...they always have to push their own format...why???? They have been pushing the MiniDisc now for how long? *beating a dead horse*

I think if the Xbox had not been hacked when it was, it would not be nearly as popular today as it is. Just my opinion....I don't think hacking has hurt the xbox at all. The biggest thing I see is the internal storage, the fact you don't need to buy stupid memory cards is great...you can still get one to swap saves to or whatever...but you don't have to have it...the DC, PS2, and above all the GC drive me crazy with memory cards...the GC in particular is horrible as far as storage goes with the standard factory made memory cards...if you ever play a game like SIMS on the GC and then on the Xbox you more than know what I mean. And playing PS1 games on a PS3 isn't really the point, but being able to play 30 or 40 PS2 games on a PS3 is...and in the case of the Xbox...if the Xbox2 only has Halo 2.5 to carry it at launch...why bother? I just don't see the need for XB2 for another year or so? I'm happy with it as it is...next Christmas with Halo 3 and a couple of other good launch titles and the ability to play my shelf full of Xbox games also? sure...I'll bite.

yeah..I still need a ton of manuals. I'd rather get commons in bulk if possible to keep shipping costs down...not much use in getting just one common manual i dont have...lol.

Thats more of my point on the issue...I'd rather see BC than not see it...if they have it...for me that makes it easier to justify purchasing an XB2 but if not I'm just going to stick with my original Xbox and not be in a big hurry to upgrade anytime soon...i'm happy with my current systems...they will have a price break after a while...problem is if enough people don't get on the bandwagon (Dreamcast) and Sony continues to legacy in the PS3 by making it work with the 2 proir system discs...thats a huge advantage I think...by the time the PS3 comes out the XB2 might be gone the way of the DC. Halo 2.5 is not going to "carry" an entire platform....at least I don't buy in to thinking that....I'd rather them take another year, figure out the BC issuses (even if you have to put in dual hardware in the same case to make it so) and then launch with Halo 3...you do that...I'm on board...otherwise it's a rip off I think.

I played a home movie burnt to DVD-R on my xbox the other day...shocked me...i figured i would try it but didnt expect it to work...played like a champ...it's a Samsung drive.

my top 5: (1) 2600 (2) NES (3) Xbox (or insert PS2 here if you are a Sony fan) (4) PS1 (5) Genesis - I picked those because I remember at the times each came out they were "the shit" and must haves...each one went on to become the defining console for it's era...the 2600 started it all on a big scale...in the early 80's everyone had to have an Atari. The NES was the next "huge" smash hit...everyone in the late 80's/very early 90's had to have one...then came the Genesis which redefined sports games with the Madden series and the first "realistic" baseball, hockey, and boxing games...the PS1 was the next "huge" platform...in the mid 90's up until the modern PS2/Xbox/GC launch, everyone had to have a PS1...after that came the moderns which is a total Ford/Chevy type thing...Graphics and gameplay are very close on the moderns and everyone has to have one of the 3...take you personal pick. So...as far as the consoles go...thats my take and my top 5.
