Indy 500 on ice..........just 'cause. Mock

I would agree with that. I don't have a problem protecting people's property, but just not at my personal expense. Mock

Really looking for games that I can play...opened...instructions are a nice bonus, but I can find them online...so not a big deal...just whatever you have commons or rare.. Mock

The local Wal-Mart here has a few games new in box laying in the bottom of the GC section case...not sure what the exact titles are, but there are at least 3 or 4 different ones and they are still full price...if anyone wants details I can stop and check out the particulars on the titles and prices. I've got a big pile of garbage in my basement that still runs like a champ! Mock

Actually...with the DMCA written as it is, it is more likely than not illegal to own one since it is written to state that posession of an item who's likely purpose is to circumvent a digital encryption or so on is a crime in and of itself...blah blah blah...so on and so forth...it's a friggin peice of work (DMCA that is) it really needs to be re-written with better language. ATARI 2600 KRULL PROTOTYPE / EPROM AUCTION
Mock replied to Joystick Jolter's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
I agree...the original paperwork should follow the game to it's new owner, you should keep the copies. IMHO But, wtf do I know? -
Yep...I see that...even read the faq as I said in my post...just wondering what people were currently using, never know what new info you'll find when you open or in this case re-open a conversation. Thanks for all the info...I'm going to go out today and take a look around...there is a guy who does woodwork and restoration across the street from my office...might see what it would cost to have something custom made up or to modify an old cabinate or dress or something with drawers...just an idea. There are no Red Dots around here from what I can tell....going to check out the major chains and see what they have in the Rubbermaid variety...lol. Thanks guys... Mock

Don''t know much about the Action Replay, but I'll check it out... Mock

What do you guys store your cart in? Anything that is widely avail that they fit well in for storage if you want to play them on occasion? Don't want to dig through 3 layers of games to get to the one on the bottom I want to play.. Right now I have my stuff in a couple of old containers built for 2600's and I don't have the tools or skills to build one from wood...so...figured some of you probably have a good solution. (I read the FAQ already btw...saw the plastic rubbermaid type storage boxes...) I am going to order some of the pages for the manuals and some sleeves for my boxes....just need to figure out a good system for the loose carts now. Thanks, Mock

I'm not a 'gun nut'...lmao...sure I have a couple of Glocks...but........... lmao point taken... Mock

DMCA is way over the top IMHO...strips away consumer rights to try and wrestle with a legit problem...but, I'd rather see it done in a better way that still allows people to legally do things that should be legal. If that makes any sense. I visit www.eff.org all of the time and read up on the frontlines of the DMCA battle...I don't believe that the mere posession of something in itself should be a crime when it comes to consumer electronics. Just my belief. Mock

Custom double-ender now has a place to stay ! (BIG IMAGES)
Mock replied to CPUWIZ's topic in Atari 2600
Put me down for one also...I don't have any custom games yet, but looks like a good place to start. Mock -
Hey I've got All Star Baseball 2002 or 2003 one of the two...can't remember which...but one of the two. If you want it we can finish the other trade we were tlaking about. Mock

I don't even want to get into a legal discussion on mod chips so I'll say this and be done with this thread.... Oh and BTW I have been pm'ing wiz back and forth and he's a really nice guy, so don't read anything overly negative in anything we have posted here...there is not "problem" as far as i know. With all the programmers in this place, trying to "defend" a mod chip is like trying to explain paganism to a bunch of baptists...but...if I buy my xbox I will do whatever I want to with it, and if I choose to run linux on it and that requires a mod chip to do...legal or not, I really don't care I'm going to do it. I don't pirate games and I don't try to act like a virgin on prom night and say others won't use a mod chip to do that...but to say it's not legal to be able to modify something you own is wrong. If I want to smash it with a hammer it's my money and my option to do so...same thing with a mod chip...if I want to make it do something it's not designed to do...I'll do it. The thing is, all of the sudden when they get outdated and new systems arise, well...it's socially 'ok' to "preserve the games" or whatever excuse you want to make to talk about and run EMU's....what's the difference in now vs. 5 years from now when they are no longer making games for a particular system? Money - people want to get paid for what they do...everyone does...but to say it's not ok to mod something so you can do other stuff with it because people might copy games is like saying we might as well not sell anyone a gun because someone will probably shoot another person. I buy whatever I play if at all possible...on some stuff...that's not possible...but I'm more of a collector than the majority of people, so I like to have all the original stuff that goes with a game. You are correct http://www.atariage.com/label_page.html?LabelID=3 This is what I am looking for... Also...I need a Blackjack booklet in good shape...the one I have is ripped. Mock

Looking to complete the first run set...I have the following with boxes and complete: 1. Combat (01) 2. Air-Sea Battle (02) 3. Indy 500 (11) 4. Black Jack (51) If anyone has any of the others with the boxes and paperwork or even with just the boxes in good shape...drop me a line. Thanks, Mock

well it means exactly what it says...if you put a 120g drive in it you can load up 60 or so games on it and not have to carry the discs around with you? I know what you are trying to get at, but that's not what I was trying to get at. You write games, I manage a band that writes music...both digital media...both easily copied...if people steal it...you don't get paid...which means you wont make a living doing games and write more..same thing with music...not trying to support piracy at all. I sent you a PM...like I said..sorry if I pissed you off. Mock

whos talking about pirate software? Putting a mod chip in an xbox opens it up to a lot of legit features...no need to jump my case over just talking about what it can do is there? Have you even looked into what it can do or you just assume that it is for pirate software? Whatever the case...sorry if I pissed you off...I'll stick to just talking about 2600 stuff and won't poke my head out of the corner again. Mock

Yep! That's it! Thanks for the info...will have to add that to my ebay watch list...my dad got me one of those when I was like 5 and I had it until recently and it still worked...but it's missing in action now so I need to get another...never really even noticed what the correct name of it was...lol. Anyway...very cool! Thank you! Mock

yep yep yep...Swashbuckler was the shiznit! I loved the old 2e stuff...the Ultima series was fantastic...my all time favorite was Enchanter though...used to play that game with friends for hours...if they would have had an online version of that back in the day where you could wander around in enchanter world and meet up with other players it would have rocked! lol (even on a 1200 baud). I liked Hard Hat Mack a lot and Miner 2049er also...Zaxxon was good...and nothing was more annoying than Oregon Trail...I can still hear that audio to the game clippin' out the speaker...lol. Mock

Yep...Xbox Live is out of the question with a mod box. There are 2 other services that offer online for the xbox though...xboxconnect and gamespy both have support for mod boxes and they support games like Halo, which Xbox live doesn't even support. Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon are both great games as well as Halo. Once you get the mod chip in and swap out the hard drive you can do just about anything with the Xbox, they just put out a GBA Emu also...combine that with the other emu stuff that is already out and it's a pretty neat little package. I think if I can pick up a used Xbox I might set up a mod box just to run the emu stuff on...the chips are under $50 and they have new chips that just bolt on, no need to solder...so you could pull it if you wanted to at a later date.
