  1. Do Beta testers get priority for number choices then?
  2. Hmmm, 41boxes Rev. Make that 44 as I previously thought those bottom ones were a reflection.
  3. Interesting percentage perception .....but a new release would be exciting to the community only if it had new levels? Now that would be great.
  4. Are these 10 some of the ones you submitted to the database? Yes they are. I don't know how you want to record them if they are not working but I will update you with the details when I confirm the various console conditions but so far the success rate is high.
  5. Sorry I have not yet got my teeth into this latest test Rom but will soon. I have just aquired 10 non working Inty consoles and am trying to get as many working as possible. This has been a great lesson on thinking through the problems and faults logically and getting the buggers working! I (until a couple of days ago I had never opened one up) hope for at least 6 goers and then onto beta 22 of Carol.
  6. Thanks Rev, And I hope my amendment for that box serial number made sense.
  7. Yes. I liked their Atari 5200 mod kit, but I found the others that I tried (their 2600, 7800, and Intellivision mods) to be mediocre. There does seem to be a pretty high rate of turnover among producers of A/V mods for any classic system. From the little bit of work that I did in that area, I get the impression that it's a very stressful "market" to serve. Even among fans of classic computers and consoles, hardly anyone is a "do-it-yourselfer" anymore, and hardly anyone is interested in learning the first thing about electronics. So, if you produce an A/V upgrade kit, you end up with a swarm of people wanting to send their crusty old consoles to you in the mail so you can install the upgrade for them. This involves lots of tedious and time-consuming labor which takes you away from more interesting projects, not to mention troubleshooting the console if it was broken en route (or broken before it was sent to you!), repacking the console with your own materials (because the owners hardly ever package their consoles properly), sending it back, dealing with all the potential shipping mishaps, etc. Then, when the owners get their consoles back, they find that the upgrade doesn't look right with their weird esoteric TV, or the console develops some other problem which is unrelated to the upgrade but which you get the blame for. Or, if the console owners assemble/install the mod kit themselves, they end up making some mistake along the way (bad soldering, wires not connected properly, etc). In either case, you end up spending your own time and energy trying to talk someone through troubleshooting the issue, and they usually don't even have a continuity tester or any of the other basic diagnostic tools they would need. Nobody who has produced an A/V mod kit has ever charged enough money to deal with all these headaches, and I think that's the reason they quickly get burned out and exit the market. Strangely I did not even consider sending away a console for someone else to work on, where is the fun in that? I for one would be up to the challenge of having a go at modding my own consoles. Is anyone aware of a good working design that can be made at home with parts from the local electronic shop?
  8. I would be very interested also in a good design that is DIY as I have some consoles ready for experimenting on.
  9. Nice collection and the Australian version is the same as the European version apart from the "GS" logo which is not printed on the box in the top left corner of the front.
  10. My system three has foam packing (just checked it) so I guess they are both right although the second one is interesting as I have never seen cardboard packing before.
  11. Good sound advice. Thanks for reminding me of a few of the basics that just make the whole process a better one. I will take your advice regarding feedback at it makes perfect sense and is a good friendly way to do business.
  12. Back on track with the Vision Adaptor, do you just need a "spare" hand controller to connect it to?
  13. Agreed, Intellivision Productions still well serves the Inty community as does Intelligentvision, Electronite, and Left Turn Only for their software releases and the various hardware developers out there with their products - they just do a different and very welcome product range. Having said that I do need to get updated Intellivision Rocks and Lives CD's as my 11 year old disks no longer work with any of my windows computers.
  14. The Sticklers I had required removal of the control discs. The Sticklers were a replacement for the discs, and looked essentially like the old disc with a plastic peg about 1/2 inch thick and maybe 3 inches tall. Quite different to what I had at the time which was obviously a cheaper option to what you have. I recall also another type on the market many years ago that simply clipped onto the controllers making them easy to remove if you wanted to play the "traditional way"
  15. The control disks are underneath and it may be possible to pry the Sticklers off with a bit of care. Years ago I tried a set but removed them, they just did not feel right to me.
  16. I like the deep purple screen the most. It is easy to look at and a good background for the game.
  17. Tron gets my pick but I am biased to the franchise.
  18. That sounds about right. That's oxidized metal, dust, dirt and so forth. Rubbing alcohol and a Q-tip usually do a pretty good job, but make sure you use the 91% alcohol, not the 70% stuff. I use rubbing alcohol to clean my own boards and it works great. I sometimes have to clean newly manufactured boards to make them work, since there's sometimes some residue from whatever processes they subject the boards to. (Hasn't been a problem with my current design, but it was a regular issue with the older EPROM-based design.) If you use any cloth to dry the contacts, make sure it doesn't have any fabric softener in it. Fabric softener is basically a light wax, and it could interfere with the contacts. I know I often can't clean my glasses with anything that's been fabric-softened. (It depends a little on the fabric too, I suppose.) Hmm.. Interesting I just looked at my bottle and it is only 64% alcohol. Although it works for me (so far) the search is now on for a more potent brew. Thanks for the tip.
  19. I got the impression that the game cartridge contacts were causing problems during play. Was that not it?
  20. Sandpaper sounds drastic. Use Isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol on a cotton bud and rub it over the contacts for a great and safe result.
  21. I think you mean Revolutionika's site. -dZ. Thanks dZ. Not the list I was thinking of but it is even more detailed than the other one. I was wrong, it was at Valter's IntellivisionWorld.com. I think you meant this list. -dZ. That's the one and thank you again. That is a good list Valter made, here is the homebrew section on my site in case you didnt see it. http://www.intellivi...mebrew-releases Thanks Revolutionika. There is a lot of detail there and I hope that they ALL get released someday.

  24. I saw a forum post recently that mapped out proposed INTV game releases from four different publishers over the next two years, I think there were eight titles or more and it may have even been a link to another site but any help would be appreciated to find this information again so I can plan for all these fantastic game releases. I am sure I speak for many collectors and players when expressing a great appreciation for the efforts of all involved with the development of new games and maintaining up to date information on the many INTV websites and forums.
