  2. Got a sweet deal on a copy of Mario Kart: Double Dash for the Gamecube. Shipped quickly across the border with care and attention, and I'm very satisfied. Thanks!
  3. I sent two consoles to him for A/V mods: my NES top loader and my TurboGrafx-16. Upon receiving the systems back, I can report that I am thrilled with the improvement in picture quality. To my eyes, both consoles look better than they ever have. They returned safely in good physical condition, and I've been enjoying them all over again. I would certainly recommend his work to anyone looking for system mods. Thanks very much! Also of note: the turnaround time for the work was short, and despite the distance (California to Saskatchewan), the two systems were back on my doorstep almost exactly a month after I mailed them out.
  4. Bump — sold the Intellivision items, stock is getting thinner. If you're unsure about my prices, send me an offer!
  5. Smooth sale for an SNES game and an N64 expansion pak. Payment arrived quickly, couldn't have been easier to work with. Pleasure doing business!
  6. Bought some more "thrift store" titles. Everything went smoothly, from photos of the games sent beforehand to careful packaging to ensure they arrived safely. Thanks, very much appreciated and highly recommended!
  7. Feel free to ask if you're curious. I can see what the shipping will cost. Sometimes it's not that bad. For instance, shipping across the border for a pair of SNES games comes out to about $7.50 — not terribly cheap, but not a bank-breaker either. ... Or maybe I'm just accustomed to high shipping rates after three years of buying and selling online!
  8. Sold a couple of SNES games to gzsfrk from over the Canadian border. Quick payment, smooth transaction and a pleasant person to strike a deal with. Thanks!
  9. Another successful purchase. Thanks again for a smooth transaction and a good deal!
  10. Thanks for the tip, Chris. Actually, I have someone interested in the Atari lot on another forum, so I guess I'll see how that works out first.

  14. Thanks to all for your suggestions. I attempted to fix the tension on the cart slot, initially with no success. Then a friend who has some expertise with soldering came over and took a look at the system. We concluded that wasn't the problem area, and he took a turn adjusting the slot pins. After he worked at it a little while, we connected the system and found that his adjustments had worked. The system powered up and booted fine. A couple of hours later, though, I tried putting in another game and found that it didn't work. It seemed to be just a temporary fix. Does anyone know if a replacement slot can be purchased somewhere online, or if there's any way to make a more permanent fix? ApolloBoy, can you perform this kind of repair on Master Systems?
  15. A quick update: with the top of the system and the metal plate removed, I have determined that the cartridges will successfully load if I press them slightly forward while I boot the system. It looks like the issue is similar to what this user mentioned: http://www.fixya.com/support/t480748-sega_master_system_cartridge_issues If anyone can offer any suggestions on what I should do in this case, I would be most appreciative.
  16. I'm having an issue with an SMS Power Base I purchased a couple of years ago. Until recently it worked fine. I had put it away in storage about a month ago when I moved, and when I unpacked it and connected it again today, I received the "software error" message with every cartridge I tried. I tried cleaning a couple of games and using them, and I also tried cleaning the cartridge slot. The card slot works fine, so I have concluded that it must be an issue with the cartridge slot, and likely not a matter of it being dirty. I realize I could track down another SMS to replace this one, but I'd prefer to try to salvage it if possible. Does anyone here have any suggestions or advice? Thanks in advance.
