I see your point, it definitely is not easy. Without instructions, it is nearly impossible to understand.

Personally, I like the following: Frostbite Space Invaders Pheonix Tron: Deadly Discs Ms. Pacman Seaquest Missile Command Chopper Command many more I haven't thought of yet The best part about collecting for the 2600 is that common carts are the most fun to play. Rarer carts are rare for a reason, they generally blow. Here is my observation that will probably infuriate all 2600 collectors. After playing Quadrun, I realized that the game was a real stinker! All that money for a piece of plastic. Personal advice: Collect for the gaming fun, not for the trophies.

And this is the kicker:

Sounds sort of like Cobra Triangle. -
Does anybody else here know Dymus? I've seen him auction tonnes of stuff. Is he a member of these forums, and how does he get so much stuff?

Nice shot of the back of your head. I have a feeling this is a hoax. -
have you ever bid just to get a feel for competing bidders?
Zeus replied to Shannon's topic in Auction Central
I often bid on several auctions at once. Since my max limit is fairly low, my bid often gets topped. In the end I usually win one of the auctions. Sometimes I do as desolate one if I get pissed because I really wanted the item. I know it's petty and all, but I'm sure the seller is appreciative. Also, BIN killing is acceptable if the BIN set rediculously high. Just my thoughts on the issue. -
This is just my opinion, but: I don't think the forums should be used as an appraisal site for the purposes of selling on ebay.

I'd say another couple of suggestions could be: Realsports volleyball: Loads of fun to play against my 7yo. Freeway: Nothing like making chickens cross roads. Circus Atari is also fun in a spazzy sort of way.

I think the reason a lot of us collect is to make up for the fact that we gave or sold our systems and regret it now. The only system that I still have now that dates back to the 80's is my ADAM computer and a bunch of games. Since then I have reaquired a 2600, about 70 games, and a handful of colecovision stuff. The Atari I had, I actually acquired in a garage sale around 1988, long after its popularity faded. I was really a coleco kid more than anything.

Damn I wish I was there. It's a long way from Ottawa to Austin though.

Anyone have any offers? PM me if you can.

Wow, the first thread that I ever started has been revived. Let me see, my biggest regret would be letting my mom take my Atari 2600 and all my games as well as our leisurevision, to the Salvation Army. Also, as I stated before, I really regret not buying my friends Atari stuff 15 years ago (he had Air Raid).

A fish appears next to your score in Frostbite when you reach somewhere around 120,000 points.

I'll probably give my atari & coleco stuff to one of my sons. Or maybe give it to a museum! . Anyhow, as for collecting values, I have a coin that is probably worth more than my whole video game collection ever will be worth! Speculation rarely pays off in collectables. I still stand by my theory that Atari prices will go down in the future. If you want to speculate, try land, you'll get a better payoff

NO idea...the work of another newbie BIN killer...

....for all of you Colecovision collectors.... http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...4&category=3540

I started collecting to play the games. After a while I realized that many of the games stank royally. I would say my primary aim is to collect. I think it is in my nature. When I was a kid I collected baseball cards. I still have the whole collection, although it has been inactive for over a decade. Same with coins. There is an intangible thrill to collecting things that are no longer in production, knowing that there is only a limited number of said items and having one of them is quite fun, even if it is one of say six million! Also, as a parent of young children, I have little time to play my various titles. I will be doing some arranging soon to maximize the aesthetic value of it all.

Once again the negative corellation between rarity and game goodness is in evidence.

I guess I have about 75 Atari cartridges in total, about 8 of them are duplicates. I have about 30 Colecovision carts. Small potatoes really. My rarest is Gremlins. I also have about 2 5's (Rampage and either laser volley or dragontreasure, I forget which one is the 5) and about 5 4's. the rest are 1's 2's and 3's .

I love these threads! I'm 23 and have been playing games since the crash of '84.
