  1. Dreamcast was killed because the code was cracked and all the games could be burned onto CD-Rs. Sure there are plenty of DC fans out there, they are just playing pirated games.
  2. Jeez, if I were a completist, the only CIB that I would have would be the Moon Patrol I ordered from the AA store.
  3. Weird things have been happening on Atariage lately. Weirder things are happening on ebay! http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...gory=21182&rd=1
  4. Just yesterday my 6m.o. son crawled up onto my ADAM computer and knocked my 6-switch off its little perch . After a little testing and recuperation, I decided it was time to change.
  5. Good idea. After I am finished painting the house, I was considering installing shelving on the walls of the family room using L-brackets. That way I could put them out of childrens' reach, while giving myself a nice place to display them. Untill them, it will be stored in nice big metal boxes with soft foam on the inside, under lock and key.
  6. Good idea, however I don't have a lot of space to work with.
  7. Sadly, as my new baby son becomes older and more mobile, I realize the importance of keeping my collection well protected from is cute little monster fingers . To protect it, I must put it away in strorage. Its sad to know that I won't see most of my collection out at the same time for 2+ years.... . Has anyone else been through a similar experience?
  8. I had Canada post leave one of my parcels outside in the rain! Also, I almost had a parcel returned to sender because the postman never left one of those "you have a parcel" tags on the door!
  9. I'd say breakout is one of my all-time favourite 2600 titles. I also really like Othello. I do believe it was a '79 release.
  10. Yes, when you start a game of Gas Hog, the ground is supposed to be green.
  11. My theory is that the grass should actually be green. Every time you fuel up, the ground changes colour. I'll have to check on my copy to make sure that this is the case.
  12. I am officially a knucklehead. Turns out I was playing on channel 3 and the system was set to play on channel 2
  13. What does the voltage regulator chip look like?
  14. I'll have to see. I'll post after I check.
  15. I just got a (light) sixer from a cowerker yesterday. It worked fine last night. However, this morning it would not power up. I tried all my ac adaptors with my vader and it worked fine, but my sixer was just dead. I'm afraid I might of killed it. I notice sometimes that when you unplug the ac adaptor there is a little electrical arc that appears between the socket and the plug. Could this have fried the internal circuitry? If there is any way to fix this I need some helllllllp!!!!!!
  16. Nice Pic! I have noticed that the quality of the 2600's construction declined with each redesign. Heavy sixer: built with thick, durable plastic, cartridge slot is deep and hold games firmly in place. Light sixer: made with cheaper plastic, although the cartridge slot is still deepset. 4-switch: cartridge slot made more cheaply, is shallower, games are easily displaced with ground vibrations. Jr. models: made by cutting corners anywhere possible. The buttons are poorly constructed and break easily, the cartridge slot is even shallower, and doesn't seem compatible with all games. Seems like a sad trend
  17. I recently bought my first six-switcher. I was expecting the light sixer but hoping for the big heavey. Anyhow, I ended up with the former. I did observe a difference in weight between the light sixer and the vader. The sixer definitely seemed heavier that mr. vader. I this the result of the extra 2 switches, or did they further reeduce the RF shielding or something in the vader? I do notice that with each revision of the 2600 it became more and more cheaply made.
  18. I do. I have two interesting variations of a combat cart, text label. On has a glossy label and the other is matte. Thought it was interesting so I kept them both.

I find that people here are choosing far too much processed food. You can go cheap and eat healthy. Here is some cheap foods: Potatoes: .99-2.99 for a 10lb bag Cabbage: .99 for a massive head Rootabagas and turnips: again about .99 a piece "Fast fry" types of beef and pork tend to be half the price of regular cuts Apples and Bananas are always cheap: around .59-.99 a lb. Might sound bland, but you can eat healthy and cheap with these types of food, believe me, I know from experience.
  20. Perhaps, I had a hard time with the Italian. But if he's from Ottawa, I'd say so.
  21. I have: Gas Hog loose.
  22. I don't think I'll bother bidding too much. I already have a Gas Hog, with I got cheaper than that, Bumper Bash is already above my price ceiling, Nexar is intruiging and so is China Syndrome. I'm hoping to get most of the Spectravideo collection eventually over time. I don't hold out much hope for Mangia, unless I get lucky and find one in the wild. In which case, I'll buy a lottery ticket!
  23. For anyone who may have been interested. Here is retro_city's updated feedback. If you see an auction for this seller, run far far away. http://cgi2.ebay.ca/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?V...erid=retro_city
  24. This low feedback seller is selling all these Spectravideo carts. I'm a bit suspicious because of the low feedback and the very generic looking pictures. Do you guys think it is legit? http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...8&category=3528 http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...2&category=3528 http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...7&category=3528 http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...4&category=3528
