  1. Im not talking about replacing it, Im talking about having that router forward to another router. Not much they can say or do or even know or care about it.
  2. Forgive me if you tried this, since I missed a staff meeting or two it seems. Would it work to get another small inexpensive router for yourself (I actually had a good Belkin wireless router from maybe 10-ish years ago that would even do the dynamic dns updating for me so I didn't have to rely on a PC client) and then maybe just have the gateway set up with a DMZ to your router? Maybe we could take up a collection to get you squared away (or if I can find that router laying around here somewhere......)
  3. So what changed that caused all this?
  4. Really great news Kyle! So did you just get a new router? or all new service?
  5. Good luck with that... and really happy to hear nothing happened to the Atari! Call ya when it's back up!
  6. He might be good at converting them, but after watching the video, I have to say he totally sucks at playing them....
  7. Or, more likely, a Commodore store.
  8. Even funnier if the "Trade Center" was an Atari store.
  9. What BBS software/Fido software was it running?
  10. Alas... just thought I'd make sure to eliminate the low hanging fruit.
  11. Just out of curiosity, what did the utility do? Was there an error message? Did it just not work? Because.... I had a thought. What if the date format is causing an error since it is probably written for European date formats and you probably entered in a US one? You know, how they put the day before the month, because somehow that makes logical sense to nations that didn't fake footage of putting a man on the moon like we did)!!!!!! (Really though... nothing but love for our overseas brothers... just wondering if that might have been an issue... I know I've run into it on the A8 with versions of the SpartaDos time and date setting where sometimes, depending on the version and where it came from, wants the European date format).
  12. I like how you used the Indus case as a disk box... alas, I'm pretty 100% sure there are no photos of my setup "back in the day".
  13. Actually, do any Atari BBS programs actually support ATASCII? I know RatSoft doesn't, and I tried to find a way to do it.... the problem is that it doesn't support the CR/LF/EOL/WHATEVER translation since the ST uses a "standard" CR/LF scheme. I really wish RatSoft allowed me to do it, but since the author lost the source code and it's not in a language like BASIC... I'm not sure re-writing it is worth the trouble as I'd have to be dealing with modifying a disassembly.
  14. See, if you had that controller, you would have enjoyed the Infocom games so much more.
  15. But this truly is rare! I've never seen an auction for a 1050 and that specific joystick (box included!) and likely never will again! Once in a lifetime! Literally! You totally should "Buy It Now"!!!!!!!!!
  16. I've personally had issues getting to the Brewing Academy myself... I've been relying on JP to verify that link... it's only recently that I've been able to connect myself. That said, do you know the atari BBS list at www.sfqhbbs.org/ataribbslist.php does IP addresses now if you flick the radio button to IP's? It's a real-time DNS resolution every time you update the page.
  17. Actually, am I just having one of those bad brain moments, or is the IP 0.0.0.0 with no gateway? I can't say that would cause an issue with the junky characters.... but it's an issue. Just out of curiosity, if you just do an AT <CR> with nothing else, do you at least get an OK from the device? Even if you don't actually see the AT displayed?
  18. Just for the record, while some people had issues with the 1100, I actually had no issues with it.
  19. Yes, I got confused by what Venkman said in the other thread that he was using a CX-88... which he then stated he was using an MSS-100 (like I do). So I posted that for clarity. Since the UDS-100 uses a DCE and you're connecting it to a DTE, you need a straight through... which is what I have on my UDS-10 and UDS-1100. The problem is that in some parts of the UDS-10/100 manual, it also refers to using a null cable in some situations...
  20. You can have a Lantronix box work fine in the device installer but not be good on the terminal end. SFHQ's original MSS-100 wend down that way.

  22. I mean, I really love your enthusiasm and your support for Atari BBSing, but this is literally the old guy from BattleStar Galactica (the "reboot"). "This has all happened before, and it will all happen again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again....."
