My sister bought hers of QVC, so naturally there was the whole sales pitch program.... I don't remember the exact times, but it supposedly would run a big screen HDTV for many hours, so I'm guessing you'd get a few hours at least out of a STacy.

Wonder if this is the same "Atarian Comp" on Facebook....
-
My sister has one of these and I've considered picking one up to see how well it works on the STacy (and maybe the other machines)..... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078T1Q18D/ref=dp_prsubs_2

Midi Maze - STe - 800xl - Will it Work?
Tillek replied to Paul Westphal's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
Apparently, it does. There is a post about someone who did it. http://atariage.com/forums/topic/245109-midi-maze-850/ -
I think pretty much all of them could use a call....

PLATOTerm 1.0 Released for Atari 8-bit computers!
Tillek replied to tschak909's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Errrr.... that seems to be the least of your problems I'd think.... -
Thanks... just want to make sure I don't get burned (then again, I never do business with people I meet on Facebook.....)
-
If you or anyone else knows the name he's going by on Facebook, please let us know. We need to know to be aware... and to beware....

Wonder how many people are still active. A trip down that way wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility to rekindle the magic.

What do you use your cartridge port for?
Tillek replied to 6BQ5's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
I loved that ST Replay cartridge... especially when I found I could use it to record actual sound for games I was writing in GFA Basic. Actually recently found it... Might consider finishing that game. Then again, more likely that life will interfere. -
Whereabouts are you located? There might be someone close to you so that you don't have to risk mailing it.

Atari ST in movies and TV
Tillek replied to Kaz atarionline.pl's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
... a song... about an Atari T-shirt. I don't know what to think about that.... -
Given the new "retro revival" maybe some of the "new blood" would be interested in starting it up again?
-
So did he actually produce something that was available, or is this still all on someone's design bench (as in, just get one of the other solutions because this is just a pipe dream for now)?
-
Thank you.... I'm looking forward to playing with this. I had a thought for a multi-line Atari 8-bit BBS (well, and ST as well) but beyond buying a few Mega's and 800xls I'm beginning to wonder if it would be worth the effort. I have a hard enough time keeping my one line BBS's busy

I got a Sophia in an 800 I got recently from EBay... I'm considering getting a couple more for my other Ataris.... However, I'd be curious as to which of these adapters do "fake it"? I wish someone had some sort of comparison chart. It's hard to keep up with all the options these days.
-
So what does the 1050 option do?

It says g0blinish was last active on January 24th so........

So as long as we're dealing with N00b stuff for the SDrive Max.... Does the USB port do anything other than power the unit? Or does it allow access to the SD Card as well?
-
Yeah, I lost an MSS-100 last year.... really sucked. And on top of that, one of the replacements I ordered came DOA.

Atari 1040 STe or Atari Falcon?
Tillek replied to pixelmischief's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
... the Jedi is wise.... But it looks like the decision is made.... -
Great stuff! Out of curiosity, did the multi-forem one run on one system with multiple modems, or multiple systems hooked together somehow?
-
Q related?

Thank you! That BBS software would be greatly appreciated! One thing I had heard of was a multi-node software running off multiple 800's sharing a single Corvus HD... I was always curious how that worked.... Just a simple file-lock strategy? Might be a good way to do a multi-line BBS for the A8. Then again, it's hard enough to get callers for just one node let alone justify working on a multi-node one. (And yes, I do know about TCP/IP Express with the multiplexer, but unless I'm wrong, I don't think that hardware is available for purchase and I don't think the software is available either).

If you still have the equipment, go for it. Was talking to another old AMIS sysop on Facebook trying to get his mod going. I remember AMIS quite fondly... was the first BBS software I worked on modifying. From what I remember, I actually got it working with more than one message base.
