  1. I mean, maybe not right just now, but after a few of the issues have been resolved.
  2. Is it possible to get a revised build from the discoveries/changes revealed tonight in the not too distant future for those who are interested?
  3. It was nice we had a chance to try it on your real hardware as well after that. I'd say the working session concept has proven to be good so far... we'll have to do more of them! Plus, we found a few more issues that Pab can get an earlier start on. Really looking forward to the follow up working session on this (which we'll post the information for as soon as we agree on a time). Had a great time. Thank you all for attending.
  4. Figured since this is the last one of the year (and kinda short notice) I'd post in a few more places.... Just your regular Atari BBS Community Zoom Meet Reminder... sorry for the late reminder. As always, we meet on the first Sunday and third Friday of every month... the next meeting is tonight, Friday, December 15th at 8pm Eastern. No real agenda for this since my work project is in it's final stages, but those tend to be the most fun! We will be discussing the release of the newest version of AT_Connect III, which will be totally worth it! The link ... https://tinyurl.com/abgc-friday23 We're also having a working session with Pab on Sunday December 17th at 3pm to help someone with AtariLink II. If anyone is interested, please feel free to attend! We will likely keep this only as long as it needs to be to solve the problem and will be keeping it on topic since it's a working session, but if you've been interested in the AtariLink BBS, this is your chance to work with the author on issues regarding getting it set up. Working session link.... https://tinyurl.com/AtariLink-WS And our first meeting of the new year will be Sunday, January 7th of 2024 at 3pm Eastern. Reminder and the new link will go out prior to that.

  8. I knew you were attempting humor... was just a lame attempt.... even by your standards. Too bad you missed the last meeting though... had Josh on there AND the IGS guy.
  9. ... and yet... your ANSI screens are still inferior (which was the topic, not just random attempts at insults).
  10. Yes.... A few different models.... https://www.ebay.com/itm/124726630295 https://www.ebay.com/itm/255007958745 Even more.... http://www.calcuseum.com/SCRAPBOOK/BRAND/ATARI/1.htm Commodore as well.... https://www.ebay.com/itm/305308759078 https://www.ebay.com/itm/395016129229
  11. ... and here I thought it was "dim" because the ANSI screens were from DarkForce and not STar Fleet HQ.
  12. Sounds like we have ourselves a plan..... Sunday, December 17th at 3pm Eastern US. I have it set for 3 hours, but it can last as long as we want it to. https://tinyurl.com/AtariLink-WS
  13. I'm thinking tomorrow is a little early notice in case some people other than us are interested. How about the 17th? 3pm eastern? (Or propose an alternate). I think we're all eastern? It will also give us time to promote it a bit during the 3rd Friday call (12/15 at 8pm Eastern). And you read my mind on the newest build Pab! If both of you are good with this, I'll create the meeting and post the link (and spread the news around)
  14. Pab and I dabbled with it quite awhile back, but I just haven't had the opportunity. We've set up special instances of the Zoom meet in the past to look at specific things, we could always do that again if we agree on a time. More of a "working session".
  15. Just your regular Atari BBS Community Zoom Meet Reminder As always, we meet on the first Sunday and third Friday of every month. The next meeting is Sunday, December 3rd at 3pm Eastern. No real agenda for this since my work project is in it's final stages, but those tend to be the most fun! (Rumor has it, we might have some people showing off some new IGS work!) Also, since the first of the month was a Friday, the next meeting will be a little earlier, December 15th at 8pm. Since that is the deployment for my work project, I probably won't have a huge agenda planned for this either. However, the first of January is a Monday, so our "First Sunday" meeting of the new year will be on January 7th at 3pm Eastern and will be our Christmas/New Years/Show & Tell what retro gifts you got (yourself). (Don't worry, more reminders will go out for those....) Hope to see you there!

  17. I've never managed to get it to work in Windows, and my machine does have actual serial ports. I've also tried with ARAnyM and didn't fare much better. I've managed to get it to work in Linux... but by "work" there are some serious issues. 1) If someone hangs up on the BBS and another person connects, they'll take over where the other person left off (I consider this to be a deal breaker).. it doesn't seem to realize the connection has terminated. 2) Express wouldn't reset properly. It would get into a strange loop where it would start the time out, then instead of logging off, essentially "reset" the timer (thus, never really timing out). If someone just wants to play locally, that's should work fine. But otherwise, I gave up on it since I really had no personal interest in getting it to work anyway other than the frustration of not being able to get it to work (I'm not an emulation fan honestly). So if someone can figure it out, great! But I only know one person who actually pulled it off successfully without any issues and he made it clear he wasn't interested in sharing that knowledge. We can bring it up again Sunday if people want. There are some efforts to get some of these BBS programs using native telnet (STing) but authors keep disappearing. That's probably a better thing to wait for as that opens up ARAnyM as a good option.
  18. Green Dragon? Or Red Dragon? ... As in "Legend of the....." AKA LORD. Just curious because LORD is one of the defining PC BBS games.
  19. Think you're referring to UIP tool? https://bitbucket.org/sqward/uip-tools/src/master/ Which really is a great tool for those with NetUSBee since it doesn't require any STing or any other setup. It has all it needs, so you just run and go. I use it to help remote-admin my BBS as well.
  20. Looks like it's been taken down. What was the price/reserve?
  21. You people are way too harsh. The vintage tape used to "fix" the retro rips in the box alone is worth at LEAST $200 in today's dollars. Not to mention, there is a REWARD card in the box. Who knows what THAT could be worth! I'm sure they're still going to honor that, right? Though I am always a little suspicious of sellers who sell something "as-is" since... well... being retro, I would prefer them to say "as-was"... but that's probably why it's only $1,500 and not $15,000!
  22. Actually both my parents were fairly healthy. Neither one had any major health issues and had pretty decent diets.. no drinking outside of the glass of wine or two at holiday dinners.. no smoking... pretty healthy right up to the point they were diagnosed with cancer (different kinds) and died at age 66. My grandmother, with all her bad health issues... lived to be in her 90's. When it's your time, it's your time.
  23. But that's the real kicker. When I was younger, I had the time... not the money. Now at 50, I have the money... but not the time. I'm hoping to live long enough to have both... but given family history, I'm doubting that's in the cards for me.
