You guys are awesome and quick! I'll try those tonight. Is there a limit to the number of labels that you can define in the On expr GOTO?

Howdy! I'm working on a game (very slowly as life is busy and I'm not a programmer by nature) but I'm trying to work through two issues that I'm hoping someone can assist me with. Basically, the game is designed to be an Choose Your Own Adventure / RPG with a turn-based combat system. Right now, just trying to get the intro screen and basic game mechanics with a basic fight scene. I've attached my code and a ROM below to show what I have so far, which isn't much . My two issues: 1) In drawing the Intro Screen (using the Print for each Bitmap card), it stops "printing" them after I hit around the 18th bitmap even though I've used: DEFINE DEF00,25,IntroScreen 2) Can you use a variable as the destination for a GOTO statement? As my game will be "page" driven, I want to be able to define a variable as the next "page number" to go to after a battle. In other words, define PAGE = 130 and tell the system GOTO PAGE (except page is the variable of 130 rather than "PAGE"). I'm sure that the code is ugly and that there is a TON of things that can be more efficient. Just trying to have fun and end up with some kind of completed project! Any advice is appreciated! Off-Topic: Complete Nintendo 64 Collection
Fushek replied to Eric7100's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
Well, just spitballing here ... Probably around 5k Max. After spiker at 1200, learning funs at 750, the prices start coming down. Assume another 5 to go for around 200/300 each for another 1200. Another 10 to average 100 each. Add another 1000 for the rest of the games. Of course, these are individual prices. Lots are typically sold at a discount to selling individually, so yeah, I'm going with 5K. -
I was assuming so ... says it was the CGE release edition and that it cost him $100.

New Intellivision Game for Portland Retro Gaming Expo

I got a fever ... and the only prescription ... is more piggy bank! -
Biggest mistake I ever made was not understanding my goals early enough in my collection process. I bought a lot of Intellivision games at a steal that included a couple of rarities, a boxed Learning Fun I and Learning Fun II. At the time, I wasn't trying to collect the whole library so I sold them on eBay. I now wish that I could have them back ... but I'm not willing to spend that amount of money to get them (they're not exactly fun games!). Oh well ... I just have to wait and get lucky again!

Bradd ... freaking awesome stuff as usual. How can I get you to do this with the Intellivision?

Well said, sir! There is nothing that compares to the fun and excitement of getting a package in the mail from Intelligentvision. Who doesn't remember the moment of opening their Scarfinger & Choplifter combo and finding the surprise game of Deep Pockets carefully tucked within! Thank you for everything that you've done for the community and here's hoping, at the very least, that you stay involved in the community. Your love for the system and history would be missed! And Super Pro Baseball ... -
Interestingly, most last names started with some kind of meaning. My last name of Smith, for instance, points to a high likelihood that there was a Blacksmith in our family's past. Wolfson. So, somewhere in your history there was likely a son of a ... oh.

DZ is not a divisive force here ... any more than you are. But for some reason, mix a little DZ and William and poof, fireworks!!! I've dealt with both of you. I've had PM's / emails / chats with both of you. I've discussed distributing games for Elektronite and I've participated year after year in DZ's contest. I appreciate the hard work and dedication of William in putting out a quality product for the system that I love and admire DZ's encouragement and willingness to help out newbie programmers. I have NOTHING but respect for you both on a personal level based on my interactions and that's why it's so painful to watch the two of you go at it on the forums. I believe that you both have good intentions for the community overall. But for the love of God, stop clicking on the POST button! At this point, both of you should just ignore that the other exists for the sake of both of you reputations. My real name is Don Smith, and I approve of this message . -

Oh, and on the appropriate subject of price, a couple of thoughts: I paid $100 for a special edition of Carol and I am THRILLED to have it. Sure, it was expensive, but the quality of the game and the presentation from LTO and all involved was spectacular. D2K, the same. Carl made one helluva game. If there had been a special edition, I would have gladly bought it as well. Most homebrew games APPRECIATE in value. Yes, I've had a hard time purchasing a title at $70 at times, but the vast majority of the games retain their value and even appreciate with time. The initial cost of the game is softened by knowing that I could likely get my money back later if I don't like the game or I need cash. The only price trend that I don't understand, is the charging more for a low serial number. Not an attack on the practice, but for me, it's not enough of a reason for me to shell out additional money. -

Agreed agreed and agreed. The next response that anyone writes is NOT going to be the post that wins the war. -
It's a darn shame that this year has been the most costly year of my life, otherwise, I would make a play on this. Beautiful copy that I'm sure will sell for a handsome amount. Unfortunately, my wallet is screaming "no more"! Good luck with the sale!

One time bump. Will close offers by end of tomorrow. Thanks!
-
Yeah, there's an expansion port but it was never tested. The sticker says "Universal Cartridge System" and references how to switch between PAL and NTSC.

I hate to be the "make offer" guy, but I REALLY have no idea what this is worth as I haven't been able to find where another has sold so ... make me an offer . Up for offer is a Saba KW-501 (Sega Genesis clone). Some info on its origins can be found here http://segaretro.org/KW-501... but that's all I know. I bought originally with only the unit itself and ended buying a Sega MK-1602-2 power supply to test it and it works fine. Selling only the unit and power supply. So keep in mind that this may not have been the original power supply that was offered with the Saba. Open to trades! Always interested in Intellivision oddities (I have most games) and currently interested in CIB RPG games for the NES (think Final Fantasy, Dragon Warrior 2-4, etc). Also looking for a Odyssey2 Voice and voice games. Anyway, here are the pics. Let me know if you're interested.

The Carol swag is the pride of my collection ! Keep practicing, you'll get there! And ... am I the only one who thinks that the artwork on the Caves of Kroz is some of the best box art on an Intellivision game? Beautiful! -
