  1. Heh ... my wife is going to kill me ... I'll be sure not to mention your name so I think that you're safe! I have so many commons right now to bundle with some systems. I'll let you know if they work when I get them. Thanks for the heads up!
  2. Nice! Body Slam is next on my list of the ones that I really want so nice score. And I have realized that I love opening the shrink wrapped ones now. I had some commons new that didn't sell, so I decided to upgrade some of my copies and really enjoyed opening them! Do you plan on opening them or are you keeping them sealed?
  3. I'm with you ... although I finally parted with my LD collection a few years back. Was just taking up too much room and, I must admit, I don't miss getting up and flipping the disc over ... but definitely better than both VHS and Beta.
  4. For some reason, I think that this game may destined to be played on an Emilyvision unit ... Just sayin'.
  5. Were you a Beta-max guy as well?
  6. That's funny ... I do the same thing with some of the games if one side of the box is nicer than the other so that it looks better cosmetically! My wife may be right when she tells me that I need help.
  7. The Mattel Electronics version is the most common so you shouldn't have a problem getting a copy from someone here or cheap on eBay (I may have an extra copy at home if you want it). Now, if you want to go for a slight variation (and you know you do!), there are two versions of the manual, one in color and one just green and black. The color manual version is much cooler .
  8. Yep, your box was orange as well! This is an Intellivision Inc variation with the smaller, non-gatefold box version with a white label and non-glossy manual. Check out cmart and rev's top 30 variation thread or the Intellivision Inc thread if you want more info on it.
  9. You were right ... it was another reseller. Topol777 has the rarish items from that lot up for auction. I wondered when those might pop up again! eBay Auction -- Item Number: 121019763131
  10. Mine's the EXACT same one with the blue label, so unless he wants a second one ...
  11. Is this really the value of this demonstration cartridge these days? eBay Auction -- Item Number: 181020323215 I have one that I could sell and trade and at that amount ... I would definitely part with it to help complete my 125.
  12. No need at all to apologize for anything! I appreciate any and all assistance from you and Intvnut ... you guys have been fantastic and I appreciate all the help! I was just trying to help you understand where I was coming from with some of my requests that I don't even know many of the basics yet and I'm not a programmer by trade. And you haven't been pushy at all! I'm having fun learning ... and achieving minor victories. It's funny that you talk about people starting here and never finishing ... when I was in high school, a friend of mine made fun of me because I had a tenancy to start projects and never finish them ... So when I started writing a book, he asked me how long my current "whim" would last. He pissed me off enough that I completed a 250 novel before I graduated high school. Now, it wasn't that good and it will never be published, but the feeling of satisfaction that I received being able to type "The End" was one that I will remember until the day that I die. Anyways ... I'm really enjoying this in my spare time and want to continue on this journey even though it may be slow at times with my hectic schedule. Thanks again to both of you for all your ideas and assistance! It's great to have people in the community that are willing to help and actually have the patience to do so.
  13. Thanks again for the advice. The idea of just jumping right into designing a game before I understand the rules and parts is very intimidating. Kinda like telling someone to put together a car engine without knowing what each of the parts do! Any game that I design is light years away and may change form a thousand times ... and I don't mind throwing code away if I'm able to LEARN from it and understand better. Every time that I learn something else, it helps me understand how I could incorporate it into a future game idea or the current game "thought". I think that I need to at least understand the basics to be able to design and flesh out a game.
  14. Got it ... just playing around I'm able to make a "+" character move across the screen. Nothing fancy, but I understand the concept. I can also change it back and forth from a "+" to an "x" by changing the A attribute. In my simple examples, I can have it change form and move at the same time. At this point, it's all manual. I'm just completely redefining the X attribute and manually moving it from #$55 to 56 to 57, I'm sure that there are better ways, but for now it works.
  15. Woot! Minor victory! I was able to add MOB's to my program (note the red eyes of my skeleton)! I was also able to advance the stack properly with the recommendations from everyone here. Thanks again! Next, I need to start looking into creating movement for MOB's. I'm not planning on the movement being controlled by the controller at this point, just assigned within the program. For instance, maybe a treasure will sparkle, etc. Also, spells and attacks, I was thinking could lead from the hero on the left to the monster on the right or vice versa (a fireball MOB staring from the hero and exploding on the monster). Any recommendations on where to learn more about static movement (not controller movement)?
  16. I just bought some as well, not sure if I was going to like them or not ... after I started putting my games in, I must admit that I'm very happy with the results. I'll be ordering more (for some of the Gatefolds) soon.
  17. I personally think that your first impressions are spot on. Never a fan of the Auto Racing or Motocross ... but still love Snafu after all these years, make sure to give it a few tries, just the music alone is addicting. Make sure to play the Coleco Donkey Kong again before you play D2K when it comes ... amazing what a difference there is!
  18. Just picked up a TI-99 Computer with a bunch of extras (posted in the Thrift Finds Forum if anyone is interested in seeing it) and included were Burgertime and Microsurgeon! Anyone know if the TI version of these are any good?
  19. Been an interesting year. I've had little luck with game systems, but GREAT luck with vintage computer systems. Here's my latest pickups from Craigslist ... all for $50. Apple //e with A2M2010 Monitor Apple Printer 2 Boxed TI-99 Computers TI Expansion Box Over 20 Cartridges (including Burgertime!) Data Cassette player Lots of paperwork, magazines, manuals and disks. Great find, but I'm still bummed as I BARELY missed out on picking up a NeXT Cube Computer from him for $20 (someone else was faster)!
  20. I was quoted on your blog! That's so awesome!!!
  21. Wow ... just like a Disney movie, there's some drama in the middle but has a happy ending!
  22. Further than I've made it in my couple of lame attempts. I think that I made it to the Icicle Lane and don't remember my score. I love the round starting sequence with the Ready, GO effect and the mini movies in between. The mini movies gives it a retro feel, similar to Pac-man. And yes, part of me really does NOT like unsealing games ... but the kid in me loves it! The weird part is that I love the overlays but I NEVER use them ... and I LOVE the clear shell cart of the SE!
  23. No reason to rush ... I vote that we wait until 2013 to choose the best game of 2012! I'm going to have a hard time deciding between D2K and Carol though so far ... I'm simply going to have to play them a lot over the next few weeks to make a final decision
  24. Welcome to the wonderful world of the Intellivision. You've found the best place on the web to discuss it!
  25. You got married on Halloween? Wicked ... I hope that you did a zombie themed wedding and had her white dress with red blotches all over it. Appetizers of finger snacks and cutting the cake ... oh the possibilities! Actually ... I just found a picture of the ceremony ... how cute!
