  3. Jati ... the holy grail of 3M bookshelf game collecting ... http://www.gamersalliance.com/jati.htm
  4. This one is an oddity ... but want to see if anyone's interested in it. I received this one with a lot of 5 or 6 C64's and was excited to find a Silver Label 64 included ... however, it is a Frankenstein. The top part is Silver Label 64 but it doesn't fit into the bottom section so the bottom is from a later 64 (slots just don't line up properly). The unit works, but I didn't just want to sell it as a normal Commodore 64 as I thought there may be some interest for a collector in just the top portion as an upgrade to their Silver Label or to complete a Silver Label one. If you want the bottom portion, I can include that as well. Pictures below ... let me know if there is any interest. Being an oddity, I have no idea what to ask for it so I'll take any offers. Also, always willing to trade for CIB Intellivision games!
  5. My wife, kids and I were going to yard sales this weekend and had split up ... suddenly I get a call from my daughter saying "Mom says to get over here, there's an Intellivision!" I rushed over and, sure enough, there was a 2609 model staring at me with over 20 loose games (including Turbo!). In the same box, was a Mattel Aquarius with Mini Expander, controller and 4 boxed games (Night Stalker, Utopia, Burgertime and Tron Deadly Discs). The box said "Make Offer" ... I was so excited about finding it all I probably offered too high because her eyes lit up and she agreed immediately. Oh well, can't complain on that haul for only $40! Just been so long since I've seen an Intellivision system in the wild that I thought I would share. I've NEVER owned an Aquarius before either. Hooked it up and must say that I was rather disappointed in the Burgertime game! Yikes ... the Intellivision version totally rocks. Fun to play with, but I don't think that I'm going to start an Aquarius collection so I'll probably be selling it to help enhance my Intellivision hobby!
  6. * looks away ... blushing * Now I just have to hope that my wife isn't reading this forum! Oh ... and nice buttons!
  7. What's your eBay ID if you don't mind sharing? I enjoy seeing what other resellers buy and what they resell them for, especially when they deal with video games! My ID is fushek if you're interested. For me, no video game stuff today, but I did find Disney's Greatest Hits CD's 1 and 3 still sealed for .50 each.
  8. Tower Quest, a new game? Sounds cool and looks like an RPG (which I love). And great picture ... when do we get more details?
  9. Have you never played a text adventure game before? Perhaps you've heard of Infocom, from back "in the day"... They work precisely like how you expect "interactive fiction" to: it's a story, like in a book, with a plot and characters and scenery and everything, but you're in it. So that means that you get to interact with the characters, items, and environments in the world, in order to advance the story. Some are very linear (e.g., you must go to X and pick up Y in order for Z to happen, and if you don't, the game stands still until you do), but others are much more complex and offer many paths to reaching the same goals, and even multiple plot points. Colossal Cave is the granddaddy of all interactive fiction: the very first one. It is supposed to evoke the feeling of exploring a vast underground cave system, which I believe is based on a real spelunking expedition the author did. It's rather simple compared to what came after, but it is still very good. If you're interested, there is a thriving community of interactive fiction authors somewhere in the Interwebz. Search for "Inform," which is a modern port of the old Infocom text-adventure engine. Gosh, I loved these when I was a kid. dZ. I remember pulling my hair out as a teenager trying to play Zork years ago on a hacked Commodore 64 version. Without the manual, it wasn't easy and it can be maddening! Zork is probably the best known of the Infocom games, though. Honestly, I had never heard of Colossal Cave before here. I also seem to remember some ADULT versions of the text adventure genre. Had some explaining to do when mom found a copy of "Farmer's Daughter" on one of the disks by accident! I guess that's the geek's equivalent to mom finding your Playboy stash
  10. Agreed. Sorry to hear about the situation but I hope Voltron spends a fortune on it!
  11. Since I sell Intellivision stuff on eBay, I think that it may be a good opportunity to let people know about the forums here at AA and to help support the homebrew market a bit. It's just a one pager so right now I'm mentioning the AA Forums, Games For Your Intellivision and Intelligentvision. I'm assuming that the folks that do the homebrews won't mind the publicity but wanted to make sure that I don't step on any toes in the process. The only other company that I considered adding was LTO but I'm not certain what website to use, and if the site is active or not. I've attached a PDF ... anyone involved is welcome to give their thoughts, comments or recommendations. Intellivision.pdf
  12. Hey! Do not dis The Last Star Fighter. I do like that movie a lot. -dZ. Greetings Starfighter, you have been recruited ... I agree, that was a fun movie. When I was a kid, the idea that a video game was training for the real thing ... oh yeah. I'm there.
  13. For our family vacation this year, we stopped in at Washington D.C. and I was lucky enough to go to the Art of Video Games exhibit at the Smithsonian. The Intellivision definitely got some love there as the screens for Era 1 were all Intellivision scenes. For the kiosk for the Intellivision, they chose Tron, Star Strike, AD&D Cloudy Mountain and Utopia for display. They also had some games to play (no Intv) on the big screen and you can see the picture of my daughter playing Pac-man! I also took pictures of a few other things such as Halo for the 2600 (some Homebrew love) and then some pictures of M.U.L.E. and Bards Tale, fantastic games for the Commodore 64. They had kiosks for most systems from the Atari to the PS3. Lot's of fun and definitely worth stopping in for if you find yourself in DC.
  14. The nerd police are on their way to impound your membership. But I *like* this club. I just don't space opera. Edit: Want to feel more outrage? Ask me what geek things I havent watched/read. Never seen either ... wow ... but it could always be worse ... My 10 year old son ... doesn't ... like ... Star Wars. I'VE FAILED AS A FATHER !!!!! (He will play some Intellivision with me though ... so there might be some hope for me)
  15. Pics or it didn't happen Go to the Retro gaming auction link above. There are pics there ... Sigh ... my wife would KILL me ... good luck, cmart!
  16. Just finished a trade with cmart ... add me to the list of people who find him VERY fair and great to work with. Do not hesitate to work with him.
  17. Euh... What is a MP in English ? There's a big difference from a PM (Private Message) and the MP (Military Police)
  18. Agreed ... it's tough to give a price as I haven't seen any floating around and sold. If you're dealing with cmart, however, you're in good hands. He plays fair. Question though, how did you know that it was done by Mattel? Was there paperwork with it showing that it was done back in the day otherwise, I wouldn't automatically test my units just to see if it was compatible. Anything special on the bottom referencing that the mod was done? Otherwise, that's an interesting find.
  19. Bazinga! Great find ... that one will be legendary!
  20. Cool ... I hadn't noticed that ... Scarfinger coming soon to a theater near you?
  21. First, you need to hop around on your left foot while chanting "Intellivision rocks, Intellivision rocks" 50 times. Secondly, dues of $100 are due ... make checks payable to Fushek ... Thirdly, add the Member of the INTV Brotherhood to your signature. Oh, and if you want to skip steps one and two, that's fine as well. Rev, is there an official membership register?
  22. As a reseller myself, I have to shake my head at your tactics. Calling out members specifically is never the way to go and especially if you're serious about trying to be friends. I'm not going to tell you how to run your auctions, but if you try to sell things for much more than what they are worth (debatable, I know) then you should be prepared for some unflattering comments. This is a fan site with highly knowledgeable people ... they know what it SHOULD be worth. I started coming here for two reasons: 1) To find out what many of the games were worth ... 2) To find other people who enjoy the system as much as me ... I've stayed here for #2. The community here is great, full of life, humor and good people. I hope that you enjoy your time here like I have, but be prepared for some rubbing when people feel that someone is getting ripped off ...
  23. Bump for a great thread and an small observation. I just noticed on the Super Series Baseball that they didn't bother to change the overlays. Box and instructions say Super Series but the overlays still have the MLB logo and the World Series name. Interesting ...
  24. My wife says the same ... my only saving grace is that I sell more than I keep these days. That way I can pass off my "slight" obsession as a money making venture. I've been slowly building my collection but I doubt that I will ever make the 125 club. Not sure how I could tell my wife, "Hey honey, look at the game worth $1,200 sitting on my shelf ... isn't that cool!" Yeah ... that would go over well.
  25. When you're drawing the background, everything is set up is blocks of 8x8 pictures and those blocks are typically setup with a corresponding code ( a number code). That code is used then when placing it on the screen and that code can be used more than once for the background. So, if u notice 22 used on the top of both islands and the bottom of the second island (only inverted). So, in basic terms, place item 22 in coordinates x,y. Cool find on this stuff. Really interesting!
