Looks like it would work well for registering online and navigating the innerweb.

  2. My review of the surprisingly good Pac-Man Connect & Play 35th Anniversary Edition has been posted: http://armchairarcade.com/perspectives/2015/12/11/review-atgames-sega-genesis-classic-game-console-2015-version-with-videos/

My ex had one of those and it was nice for playing Pac-Man on a TV. But why do they have Pac & Pal instead of Ms. Pac-Man? Ugh...

  3. For those interested, my review of the AtGames Sega Genesis Classic Game console (2015 version), is now live. http://armchairarcade.com/perspectives/2015/12/06/review-atgames-sega-genesis-classic-game-console-2015-version-with-videos-2/

It's a shame they haven't fixed the a/v issues after all these years.

They'll be doing hardware upgrades for 2016, so perhaps the audio issues will be addressed then.

I personally stopped watching PBS years ago. But I might take this into consideration

PBS is the distributor of the DVD. It's also on various On Demand and digital download and streaming services through Gravitas Ventures. It won't necessarily run on PBS at any point.

      I'll go that route instead.

Doesn't look like much 'commercial released' stuff from way back though.

Well, you're not going to get games with layered licenses, obviously, but it's a pretty good list, and you can add as much more as you want, i.e., whatever you consider missing, via the SD card slot.

Yeah, the blog post wasn't about unreleased games as much as it was about the catalog page.

It definitely had some unrealized potential. As-is, you can't do much with it.

I wonder if the VideoBrain at all would've existed if some other company had taken up on the Channel F and went along with the early prototypes that according to the other article were based first on 8008, then 8080 before Fairchild had them redesign it around the F8.

Thanks, Bill. I disagree on VR. Sony is taking the lead, not Microsoft, who had to patch together an odd relationship with Oculus (no true VR, just streaming standard XB1 games to the Oculus) and showed minimal utility for a Hololens that has a virtual screen the size of a deck of cards.

  10. Prediction: The upcoming #XboxOne Elite Controller won't be $150 like is being reported. It has to be $99 max, right? Right? Anyone?

      goldenegg

$149.99 is the correct price. It's not that bad when you compare it against other customizable controllers.

Damn - I thought it was a custom controller for Elite :(

We are talking about the company who sold tiny little plastic wifi adapters for their previous generation console for $100, sooo... yeah.

I ordered mine a week ago, so it should get here any day now. I'm eagerly waiting for him to make more Y.A.S.I. overlays, which are apparently coming in a few months.
