I'm curious too, is that being rendered by a jag? Or if it isn't, could it be? 967750 According to the website, the screenshots are of the PC version. The Jag should be able to do it. It was able to do MYST wasn't it? After watching the trailer I'm assuming its running on the Jag since its named Trailer_jag.mpg.

Pardon my ignorance, but whats D1?

Who around here also goes by the name of Sboox??? Hmmmm?????

Uh oh, I don't have a video camera, guess I'll have time to beat the score until I can borrow one. I assume your just talking about the highscore screen? Thanks for the request to get the 10 billion off. 944937 You have a VCR you can hook to your TV right? You don't need a camcorder, just record the TV like you're recording a show off it except its the Jaguar you are playing.

You can hit the flipper button to change where/which ramp is lighted.

Doc, I really don't think that is how they are counting the Jag as 64 bits. It seems like you are thinking they are adding the two 32bit processors together to come up with that number. 32+32=64 sorta thing.

Man, I remember even after having had time to get accustomed to playing AvP I would play it and my heart would be pounding away. And I would be like 'waitaminute, this is just a game and I've been here before.' I think it was the 'thrum' of the ship and the atmosphere and the way the Aliens would screech at you right as you turned to face them if you didn't know they were there. One of the scariest goddamn videogames of all time. WAY more scary than any of the PC versions of the same game.

I thought you had to sell all your Jag stuff a while back Hyper Eye? Were you able to get it all back? I know this is OT but I must be out of the loop. Are you still tinkering with programming on Jag?

I had FFL when it first came out. I don't remember any mention of High Voltage software developing it so that's interesting to hear. I thought FYB was the only programmer on FFL. Gunstar, can you post any links, screenshots etc to the stories you have of HV doing FFL? This is like totally coming out of left field for me. Is this the beta? Is the one that's released the beta? Is the one that was relased completely done by different people than this beta? I'm all confused now. Did FYB take over for HV and mash their programming in with his?

Yeah yeah, sure whatever bud. Bob's your Uncle. Could you start a who would buy a MK3 thread also? 936761 MK3?!?? Now I will definitely buy one sight unseen (even if MK2 is alot better IMO) 936832 MK3 has gotta be floating around somewhere, the Beta anyway. I know they were working on it, but some holdup with Williams not sending Atari the bitmaps needed to finish the game or something...

And Gorf looks like it will finally be coming out soon. And the Fight For Life Beta which from reports is better than the released version.

Have you guys tried this website? It's pretty fun. Games.com

I like Cybermorph too. Its a good game. Keep you entertained for a while. I also like Battlemorph as well much to some people's surprise around here perhaps. I'm assuming SongBird has the code for SkyHammer? I wonder if it can be perhaps reworked with new missions and the bugs taken out. Perhaps a SkyHammer Gold?

How is the gameplay diffrent? The game looks pretty cool. It looks like it has a higher polygon count and no / less textures. FFL is on my list of Jaguar must have games. Chris 929508 I've heard that the released version was the beta, and this was the version that was suppose to be released. I've also heard that the released version was crippled because Atari wasn't paying FYB. So maybe this is what the game was suppose to be. I hear its better. Thunderbird seems to think this was suppose to be the version that was actually released. I've heard a few people say its better(the beta). Jay, I voted on this pole too because I wanted to see the current standings over here. So one of those votes is mine but I also voted over on JSII

How long are you willing to wait for a newJag game
JagChris replied to Atari_Owl's topic in Atari Jaguar
I'm not sure if it was the motor or electronics that he replaced. It's in the original thread on this topic as the last post claiming they had the exact same problem and swapped out one or the other and it fixed the problem. -

Yeah, I would buy another such HD after something like that to RECOVER my hard work. A lot of us would be willing to pitch in via Paypal to help. And in the previous thread on this subject. I can't remember who it is with the animated Godzilla Avatar, they claimed to have had exact same problem and swapping out the motor or electronics solved it. To which there was never a reply. -
My moronicity preceeds me.

And yet, you have nothing to back this up except vague hand-waving assertions that it wasn't "creative" enough. Whatever the hell that means. Sounds like you expected them to improve it into a different game altogether. 922833 I already told you. Things like the players ship. The shots fired. The explosions. The power lines, or energy beams or whatever they were suppose to be. Things like that. None of your missiles or anything that you fired had any sort of thrust plumes or smoke or anything. I breezed right through the game. Bosses were easy to beat for me. They didn't seem to really experiment and see where they could go with it. These are all just MY opinions Zylonbane. And I do like the game. It just seems to me that in some areas they really didn't try at all. Or maybe I just made all these complaints up to watch you get your panties in a bunch, cuz it sure has been good for the journey.

No, the LEAST they could have done would have been to put out a new game using the same old engine with new levels, and maybe a couple new enemies. This is exactly what the vast majority of game sequels are. Battlemorph, on the other hand, expanded the game in almost every conceivable way. 922302 It almost seems like they used the same engine. But I really don't know. It made improvements in a lot of areas in little ways. I like Battlemorph. I just think they(ATD) didn't put their heart into it. Not that I really blame them the way the Tramiels treated the developers. One thing off the top of my head is your ship. Its the thing the player sees almost all the time. And yet the improvements to its look and design are minimal. Some morphing and coloring in around the edges of where your 'thrust' is suppose to be coming from and coloring in the edges of the 'tennis balls' you are shooting at the enemy.
-
Why should I do that? Especially since it riles you up so much. That's most of the fun. I just see the few improvements as not very significant. The bosses were easy to beat. Yes, there was some improvements, but just enough for me to still think it was token. Like they couldn't of done better on the powerlines, or energybeams, or the cruise missile 'bombs' that you can drop? It's like they didn't even try in areas like that. And you're shots? They just gave the flying tennis balls a little bit more color this time. The full motion video outscreens were not that extensive. I don't know how much WAY cooler I think the planet select screen was, but not that much in my opinion. But I don't mind them. Extensive use of texture mapping? It wasn't that extensive to me. But that's not my bitch. The amount of texture mapping they used was fine to me. Yes, the underwater enviroments were cool, and some of the texture mapped enemies were cool. But I think they could of used a little more imagination or something with the submarine missiles. Maybe a higher frame rate, but I don't see the longer draw distance by much. Kudos for the bitmap backgrounds, but the enemy types and new weapon types are kinda what you would expect from a sequel, but they weren't all that great to me. I beat Battlemorph way easier than I beat Cybermorph. Maybe the difficulty was different as I beat Battlemorph on Medium. The bosses were easier to figure out. I see the improvements in Battlemorph as the least they could of done for a sequel to Cybermorph. I didn't say I didn't like Battlemorph Zylonbane, now pay attention to what people post before you start looking like a fool. I like Battlemorph, I just don't think its as incredible as some others do.

You can replace them at Radio Shack. We're talking about the RF thingy?

What was the year you bought your first Jaguar?

How long is it since you played the two games, more than for just 2 minutes?Really, nostalgia has a + effect, but adrenaline memory also fades, for a - too. Easier to beat? Well it certainly kept me busy trying to do so for quite a while... Everybody I showed BattleMorph to thought it was a great game, not just Jag fans. Things like being able to shoot away the pillars from bridges to destroy enemies, to skim along the water and then drop into it (with instant change of music), the much better choice of colours, the longer draw distance (integrated with the background), the larger range of enemy ships, the cut-scenes, things like the tunnels and bosses, the different types of missions! You need to go back and refresh your memory...! The only thing I hated about Cybermorph was the menu sounds, really awful... but the game had depth, which unfortunately did not appear for a few missions. Cheers, JustClaws. 921576 I thought Battlemorph did have SOME improvements such as underwater and some new weapons and the bridges etc. But things like the shots being fired which looked like colored in tennis balls. Some of the graphics that looked like they used no imagination on or even really tried. Such as the graphics of the energy going from the power station to whatever was powering was weak. Little blocks flying across the air. All in all I thought the improvements were token. Minimal just so they could say they did some improvements over the first one. And to me it seemed the Pop-up was worst than Cybermorph. And the missions were easier for me to beat than Cybermorph. Yes, it had lots of potential but I think they fell short, or didn't care, or probably weren't paid enough by Atari to put their heart into it. Not that its not a decent game. I like Battlemorph. I just think it could of been more and should of been more.
