Production snag=Sony has given us $$$$ to hold off production. Do I have proof? No. But I wouldn't put it past them. In a just world the PS version wouldn't have come anywhere close to coming out first. If the game had been released a year earlier on the Jag, a lot of people would not have wanted to wait that long for it to come out on the PSX and would have bought Jags to play it. Yes it would of made a difference in the grand scheme of things. Would it of saved Atari and the Jag? I don't know. I doubt it. But it would of made a difference.

You probably haven't paid your dues. Those of us who post have to send JaySmith gifts of pretty trinkets and baubles every couple weeks or he won't let us post.

I think I read about it at The Atari Times, but I could be mistaken. Its been a while. Although this is just what I've heard, and I kind of tend to believe it, since I remember that era quite well, and the Jag version was done WAY before the PS version was.

According to reports, the Jag version of Rayman was finished a full year before the Playstation version and Sony DID pay them off to hold back the release.

Thats kinda sad there seems to be so many weasely rats in the community.

For $60 I would definitely say GRAB IT IMMEDIATELY, and then hump the guys leg. That's a hell of a deal it seems to me for $60. MegaData isn't going to be happy about the copy of Thea Realm of Fighters being in there though.

Its a damn good game. I've been working on trying to beat it as well. I"m up to 80% found or something. But I've been neglecting it lately. Another platformer I like on the Jag is Pitfall:The Mayan Adventure. Has anyone found all the secrets on this without cheating?

Congrats! That even looks very professional. What are you? Some kind of electronics whiz? Actually, I'm kinda curious, are you?

I'd have to disagree with you there, Killing Time is one of the best games I have on the 3DO (tho to be fair I only have a handful hehe)... the engine sucks donkey bollocks, but the atmosphere, storyline and video, not to mention the music, make it really shine imvho dispite the pretty crappy engine (walls feel very flat, and warp sometimes as you get close, shooting is rather random at distance, movement feels wrong, etc). BTW its not a 3DO exclusive, its availible on the Mac I think, but quite different, one day I might have to get one to see what its like, and if the atmosphere is the same, seems easy to get that wrong unfortunatly. It is supposed to have two endings tho, I could only ever find one on the 3DO. Then again thats just my opinion, and somewhat off topic since this is a Jaggy forum, not a 3DO forum, but I really do like Killing Time. I dont think the 3DO was ever sold cheaply, to do with the way it was produced and licensed, the 3DO company didnt make the consoles themselves, and so in order for everyone involved to get a good proffit the price was always very high. I think a similar situation is in part why nuon never took off. Which game did NeXt Generation give kudos to on the 3DO for being a great game? They said it was a mix of DOOM and 7th guest. And then another 3DO game they said was the one of the best games of all time. Some game where you flew around on a helicopter backpack if I remember right. They were reviewed in the same issue and almost on the same page back in 95 I believe. Holy !#!#$! That was almost 10 years ago! Seems like just yesterday to me. Things are getting out of hand here...

Oh, you're talking about the sequel/prequel/whatever to Flashback? Damn, been so long I forgot about it. I barely remember that game now. Hmmm. Where's a good place to buy Flashback for the Jag?? I didn't see it listed on the Songbird site or the GoatStore.

Thanks Willard. Its all new to me.

I've never even heard of this game. Can I get some info? Or a link?

It was my understanding the smooth shading on the JagDoom was largely because of its patented CRY color scheme thingermerbobber. Because the PlayStation goes from dark to light in its Doom version the same way the PC version does. But I may be mistaken.

Oh yes. This reminds me of another very good. point. Don't smoke crack. Just kidding with you there Atariboy.

To me JagDoom seems to have more colors than PC Doom. And the shading transitions on the Jag are WAY COOL compared to the shade-in-steps transition from dark to light on the PC. And the PlayStation. And the... Not to mention that the Jag controller, except for the precision of mouse movement, is perfectly suited with its keypad, for a game like DOOM. And the PC Doom music is nothing at all to be missed IMO. And the scenes with a little extra gore in it on the Jag version. But then there are the extra 10 levels in Ultimate DOOM and bosses over the Jag. I don't know. Its a close one to me.
