For those that say that AVP is one of the Jags best games, I finally broke down and purchased it through ebay. I'm hoping that the game will live up to the hype. I also look to purchase Super Burnout which someone out bidded me for even though he got another copy before ( pissed me off pretty good)Forget it. You'll hate it.

What the? How come the logo's all blurry? What kinda stunt you trying to pull Linko... oh wait. Lemme turn speedband off and show image at full quality. Oh thats better. Hehe. That looks good Linkovitch. Nice work.

Yeah, I think it was Bladeforce., but I can't be sure.

I agree that those are mostly good games, except for Hell and Killing Time which I think are rather shoddy.I'd have to disagree with you there, Killing Time is one of the best games I have on the 3DO (tho to be fair I only have a handful hehe)... the engine sucks donkey bollocks, but the atmosphere, storyline and video, not to mention the music, make it really shine imvho dispite the pretty crappy engine (walls feel very flat, and warp sometimes as you get close, shooting is rather random at distance, movement feels wrong, etc).
BTW its not a 3DO exclusive, its availible on the Mac I think, but quite different, one day I might have to get one to see what its like, and if the atmosphere is the same, seems easy to get that wrong unfortunatly. It is supposed to have two endings tho, I could only ever find one on the 3DO.
Then again thats just my opinion, and somewhat off topic since this is a Jaggy forum, not a 3DO forum, but I really do like Killing Time.
3DO is probably harder to get in Holland as it was a total failure over here and they never sold it for like 40 good old guilders like they did with the jag
I dont think the 3DO was ever sold cheaply, to do with the way it was produced and licensed, the 3DO company didnt make the consoles themselves, and so in order for everyone involved to get a good proffit the price was always very high. I think a similar situation is in part why nuon never took off.
Which game did NeXt Generation give kudos to on the 3DO for being a great game? They said it was a mix of DOOM and 7th guest. And then another 3DO game they said was the one of the best games of all time. Some game where you flew around on a helicopter backpack if I remember right. They were reviewed in the same issue and almost on the same page back in 95 I believe. Holy !#!#$! That was almost 10 years ago! Seems like just yesterday to me. Things are getting out of hand here...

Sold my Jag CD a few years ago...
Heretic!

Oh, you're talking about the sequel/prequel/whatever to Flashback? Damn, been so long I forgot about it. I barely remember that game now. Hmmm. Where's a good place to buy Flashback for the Jag?? I didn't see it listed on the Songbird site or the GoatStore.

the game was supposedly a ground-breaking one - graphically. I have an old snes magazine praising it. It has all digitized stuff in it. Its kind of cell shaded in a way. Its a side scrolling shooting game with a hell of a lot of puzzles. I hate it.Thanks Willard. Its all new to me.

I've never even heard of this game. Can I get some info? Or a link?

But, JagDoom is done in 16-bit color, so it's shading and lightsourcing are very fine, creating many, many more shades than the PC version. So even if JagDoom is in a lower resolution than most are used to playing it in, on the PC. The graduation in the shading and lightsourcing of the Jaguar look better, making the overall graphics look better,IMHO, even if a few colors&texures are missing from the PC version. It was my understanding the smooth shading on the JagDoom was largely because of its patented CRY color scheme thingermerbobber. Because the PlayStation goes from dark to light in its Doom version the same way the PC version does. But I may be mistaken.

I like Wolfenstein 3d betterOh yes. This reminds me of another very good. point. Don't smoke crack.

Just kidding with you there Atariboy.

To me JagDoom seems to have more colors than PC Doom. And the shading transitions on the Jag are WAY COOL compared to the shade-in-steps transition from dark to light on the PC. And the PlayStation. And the...
Not to mention that the Jag controller, except for the precision of mouse movement, is perfectly suited with its keypad, for a game like DOOM. And the PC Doom music is nothing at all to be missed IMO. And the scenes with a little extra gore in it on the Jag version.
But then there are the extra 10 levels in Ultimate DOOM and bosses over the Jag. I don't know. Its a close one to me.

SHUTUP! SHUTUP! SHUTUP!!!
All this talk about playing RR is driving me NUTS!!! Especially JaySmith2000 talking about the Jag version! I've wanted to play this game ever since I heard about it for the Jaguar way back when. I want to experience it first on the jaguar though, and am still holding out for that hope. I have a 3DO, Mac and PC, so I could have played the game by now, but I first learned about it through the Jaguar and if there is the slightest hope of it ever coming out on the Jag, I want the entire experience to be new.
Here here!

Bah! Shoulda played it on an Atari 800/xl for it to be played properly.

-
Geez, I spent $70 on that game when it first came out and found a cheap way to beat it the first night.

Hey Linkovich, would you consider putting a link to your JagCD repair site in your sig?

Just as soon as I bash others for not taking care of their system, my CD player takes a vacation. Its reading with the ?. Its always done this every now and then, but now it seems to be for the duration. I'm going to try the not plugging the power supplies in before having them together. And um, how is the laser intensity adjusted? Hmmm??
-
How in the hell are you guys breaking your Jaguars? I still got the same one from 1993 and it runs fine. I take care of it. I still got my 800xl I bought back in '84 and it runs fine.

I have memory save problems with Pinball Fantasies. Its like a bad connection in there or something. It will work for a while, then erase everything and not work, and then work again. And then do it all over.

and I was an asshole for selling my brand new Battlesphere Gold for $250!!!!
