It was controllers. MULTIPLE controllers with the start button .. I got one to work but cleaning and cleaning and cleaning with q-tip and alcohol. Looks like I'll be on the watch out for more controllers in thrift shops. -

WTB Repair work on Intellivision and Atari 2600
cOLeCoHiTMan replied to tiptopjames's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
well spraying some deoxit on the contacts and letting it sit for a little while then wiping the excess off should work miracles.. I used to take them apart and put some talcum powder down by the disk when it wasn't working properly when i was a kid.. not sure why but it seemed to work. -
won't ship to Canada

$30-$35 shipping for 10 to Canada.

WTB Repair work on Intellivision and Atari 2600
cOLeCoHiTMan replied to tiptopjames's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Time to head to Radio Shack (or wherever) and get some Deoxit to clean the contacts! Intv controllers are really easy to take apart and clean... atari.. make sure you don't lose the little spring for the fire button. -
well.. i did the cleaning with alcohol on two carts.. Pitfall and something else.. no black detected.. couldn't get them working at all.... i gave them a shot of De-oxit.. BOOM back to life... I don't know whats in that stuff.. but............... Just sayin'..

ColecoVision Expansion module #1 Troubleshoot
cOLeCoHiTMan replied to 9 volts's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
Unfortunately for the $10-20 they cost.. I wouldn't spend a lot of time on it if you're looking forward to playing atari on coleco.. if you're into tinkering.. good luck! Look for the thread about making an expansion standalone Atari..maybe some of those guys could offer suggestions.
