I agree two games (being a tie) is a good idea. Unfortunately Millipede did not make it
-
But PLEASE let somebody confirm this. I can be extremely wrong here. There is another one near that one (a smaller one) that also can be the one to be removed. I have put my 600XL in storage, can not reach it... so I can not check it.
-
Risky for me to tell this without checking. But IIRC it is the disk capacitor on the left of the PCB (light brown) next to the left of an IC. It is that pretty large thing right from the 2 grey oscillators.

Millipede would be awesome! An excellent shooter to get rid of frustration due to corona isolation. And in this time seems shooting bugs an excellent idea as well.

Me too. Like I wrote 30 minutes ago, I am in a stressful period now (probably all of us). This game is not for me. When I voted for it, I thought it would be like Boulderdash. I believe I have to read a manual or watch a movie to get it. I do not have the rest in my body and mind to do that. So we will see in 14 days. Pity, HSC could have been a nice distraction from all the shit happening.

Haven't played yet. It is pretty much of a crisis here in The Netherlands with all the Corona stuff going on. I am a music teacher in primary schools and in my own music school and I have to organise all kind of digital music lessons and other stuff. I hope I can play soon. At least I downloaded the game now and put it on my a8. I hope I wil understand the way the scoring goes. So it is about completing levels, if I understood right...

Noooooooooooo I slightly start to hate this. Still no 400K 399040

grrrr why did I die now. no 400k arg 396960

303030 what a fabulous game!!!
-
It depends. Most of the time I keep trying to shoot all the cannons. But sometimes ... when there is a lot going on around me I shoot the center. It also pays of to follow a certain route on the map so the chance of taking too much time is lower.

Sikor is right, gameplay is equal, although I prefer the 64K version since I find all the spoken messages quite annoying. They give the game a nervous feel. The 64K lacks all those samples... it is friendlier on the ear and that helps to focus on the game.

This game is awesome. It makes my arm, neck and wrist hurt like hell and I sweat pfff omg. But it is so addictive. Great, great game.

Also tried 64k version! 291890

I still have my blackbox. It is a fabulous device. I should reconnect it and use it again. It is awesome indeed.

There is only one thing I would really like to have... and that is a Speedy for my XF551. A true speedy, with trackbuffer and all that.

I was looking at the all time HSC games list + records. And my eye fell on Millipede. My personal record is higher than the all time record in the HSC. This did surprise me a bit, since I am not a person that is extremely good in a8 games and although I score pretty nicely in the HSC, I will not get at the #1 very soon. So 2 questions: Can I contribute in some way my Millipede Score (when I manage that score)? Or do we need to play it in HSC and second: Any chance we can play millipede again? It is a great game!

Wow Amazing! By the way is this the 64K version? My Top 5 screen looks quite different.

How to set up SD Sparta dos hard drive?
Marius replied to gs80065xe's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Odd. Is it perhaps the high speed that is stalling. What happens if you press break when the atari stopped booting? -

Ultimate test: create an 8 mb atr. 65535 sectors but 128 bytes/ sector. If that one works it is indeed the problem I described. -

The atr is probably wrong structure. Have had this issue too. Emulator boots it but real hw don't. Has something to do with the header of the atr and the size. Is there another way for you to create the 16mb atr? Mine were created with atari800mac and they were not working on real hw. -
This came with my 800XE's also 1987 hmmm
-
This site states that the 800XE was available from spring 1987 http://www.atarimuseum.de/xe.htm#model
-
It could be 1987... Found my own post: Other posts after my post add information too! Pity that those links in my post do no longer work...

Unless the 800XE mentioned in the Happy Computer magazines are not Atari 800XE computers, but a memory upgrade that was also called 800XE ... I found an Antic Magazine where the 800XE is offered and it seems that that is a memory expansion. https://archive.org/details/1986-08-anticmagazine/page/n107/mode/2up/search/800XE?q=800XE Hmm... this is worth the investigation. (that is on page 107; screenshot comes from that page)

I have not found what I am looking for... But in this edition of Happy Computer from 04 1986 there is already a 2nd hand Atari 800XE offer. Could be a typo of course. https://archive.org/details/Happy.Computer.N30.1986.04-Cartman/page/n99/mode/2up/search/800xe?q=800xe The advertisement I was talking about could easily be from 1987 too. I am not sure. The only thing I know is that the 800XE was already available way before atari started to make real crappy XE computers. Those early 800XE did not suffer from GTIA bug or whatsoever. Oh and in this 1986 magazine there is also an atari 800XE on sale. https://archive.org/details/Happy.Computer.N33.1986.07-KCz/page/n87/mode/2up/search/800xe?q=800xe
