There's already a Vector gaming forum on Proboards that focuses on the Vectrex.
http://vectorgaming.proboards.com/
Also, as an admin you should be aware of what double posting is which you did in this thread. That's why there's a multiquote button.
My bad, I've never used the multiquote button before.

One question: why do a general classic gaming forum that already has big players in it. Why not focus on something the big boys don't, er, focus on?
Not pickin' on ya: just curious

I've been trying to make the forum more centered towards vectrex, but to be honest it hasn't been very succesful in doing so yet lol. Maybe ill change the background to a bunch of vectex's, that should do the trick

This is true.
Good luck with your forums because there are those that have been established for years like Digital Press and ClassicArcadeGaming.com that are having problems getting people to post.
I just shut my forums down last month because I had over 200 members that weren't posting. I wasn't going to fork out the dough in web hosting costs for an inactive forum site. I understand Proboards are free and you won't have the issue of hosting costs, but why would I post at your site when there's a large community at AtariAge where my posts have a good shot at getting replies?
I dont expect it to become nearly as popular as pigital press or AA or any of the major retro gaming websites, but even if its only up for a year, its just for fun. You dont have to join if you dont want to, no one has to really, but its just there if you want to.

Not bad form at all, unless he starts spamming it over and over and over again..

I'm a member of several forums (I am sure a lot of us are).
True, there has to be something to get me to post on another forum (the ones I am in now are pretty good at covering my retro needs), but you never know..
Good luck..

Dont worry, I wont be spamming it lol. This will be the only thread about this forum. I just thought it would be fun to make, I doubt it will ever become as succesful as AA, but thats totally understandable. I didn't create it to get as many members as possible, just as a thing for fun, even if its only up for a year.

Just letting you guys know, I created a forum just recently which discusses retro gaming and collecting as well as some modern gaming. It discusses anything from pickups to emulation to modern gaming. But we prefer to stick to the retro stuff
It hasn't been getting much attention, so please take the time to check it out, thanks!-

Thats really awesome! You should just drive around the country showing off your stuff. It would cost a lot of money, but hey, totally worth it!

-
For me it would have to be the vectrex. One of my favorite systems, and while it does get a ton of attention and is on high demand, the amount of people who actually own one is quite low, compared to most other systems anyway.

awesome, ive been waiting for a long time for this

Thanks. ^^
Yeah, I had a feeling producing games takes a lot of work. I would absolutely do it, but I'm in college now, kinda looking around for a long-term girlfriend, and I barely have free time.
The other issue I have with selling this game is that, isn't that copyright infringement? I'd be making money off of James' franchise, and I will absolutely NOT disrespect him that way. If there's one thing I don't want, it's to get on his bad side. The other games people have made (besides AVGN Adventures) I believe are free.
well, if you were worried about copyright, you could ask him. but i think you are right, it should be free. i mean, making money off of someone else, kind of cheap now that i think of it. well, if people want to have a cart version, they can just print it themselves! lol
-
The videos of him out of character are probably my favorites, actually.
same. it seems like i prefer out of character videos with almost every youtuber i watch, lol.
-
Well, I actually have never sold any games before, so I'm not really familiar with how that works. Since making games is something I just enjoy doing, I usually don't get money involved with it. xDD
Also, I was originally intending for this game to be just sort of a gift to James, like from me to him. I never meant for it to be a profit of any kind. If I saw that there were like 50 people that wanted it, then I would consider it, but as it is, I'm just a college guy in school, and the money I spent for these two cartridges was just money from my own pocket from working at a grocery store. LOL! I will make the game downloadable though, so you could all play it. In fact, that reminds me, I'm home now, so I'll go set up the link! ^^
that makes sense. i mean, i dont have any understand of how the whole business works either, but i assume it would be a lot of work, John Donzalli had to stop his business because he had to much going on. in case you dont know him, he was basically the first homebrewer for the vectrex
also, ignore the people in this thread that are being rude. like the people insulting your game because they saw the beginning one avgn episode and declared they didn't like him or whatever. i think your game looks awesome

About a year and a half ago, I programmed an Atari 2600 game using Visual bB, had a cartridge made for it with custom labels, and sent it to James Rolfe as a fan gift for him. The game has the AVGN theme song and logo on the titlescreen, it has two bosses, and two difficulty settings. I had only two cartridges of this game pressed, one for me (which he signed) and one for James.
Here are some in-game screenshots:

Here's the cartridge itself:

Also, more significantly, this game actually had the honor of being featured in his latest AVGN episode, "AVGN Games". You could watch the video here: (my game is at the 9:30 mark)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEz0IoffV9g
If you never heard of the Angry Video Game Nerd, or James Rolfe before, you should definitely check this guy out. He's freaking hilarious! XDDDD
Website: http://www.cinemassacre.com
I'll put up a ROM dump of the game when I go back home tonight (I'm a resident at my university
)Hope you guys enjoy this. ^^
pretty awesome that you were in one of this episodes! you should somehow make cartridges of this and sell it, with the review and all i bet it would sell a ton

-
He is always resorting to abusive language, that is supposed to be funny? I don't think so. I think he needs professional help.
well, he is acting, the avgn is just a character he plays lol. its kind of like boogie2988 if youve ever heard of him, he is known for his rages where he uses the character Francis, in real life he doesnt get that mad, he is a totally calm guy.

Matter of fact, that is an AtariAge "Vectrex" button circa 2003-2004, they were sold for $1.00 each.
Here's the link to the AA page circa 2005 for the M Network button (same size - same price) and with my personal review for it too!
Also, during the Houston Arcade Expo 2 weekends ago, I brought my buttons (Vectrex, M Network, Colecovision, and Intellivision) and invoice to show Albert from AA since I came across them before I left home for the expo. Thought it would be neat for Albert to see some of his items from 10 years ago. And I have never taken the buttons out of the original baggie too!
I found the link for the Vectrex button too...............
i actually already looked on the wayback machine, and i also had it confirmed with the seller that it was from atariage. thanks for the info though!

I've noticed that I'm spending more time lately organizing my collection than I am actually playing the games that are in it. Sometimes, I can't even remember what I actually have.
This has me wondering.. Is less = more? (Meaning would I enjoy a smaller, less complete collection than the one I currently have?)
This wasn't really an issue until I started replacing my loose 2600 carts with boxed copies. Loose carts and manuals didn't really take up any space at all.
If I were going to scale back on the number of boxed games in my collection, I'm not sure where I would want to draw the line.
Plus, when I've sold off parts of my collection before, I've usually had regrets.
Am I having a moment of temporary insanity, or temporary clarity??
well, more of the good stuff is a good thing. if you just have a ton of games that you dont like and you are unhappy, dont collect those games! try something new

two people already made one like this and shared the diagram for such in the previous posts

oh i see. well, that doesnt mean recycled gamer cant make one. but thats still cool!

No, Mail Plain is not on the 72:1 multicart. The only light pens "games" on the cart are Art Master and Melody Master.
Pitchers Duel and Dark Tower are on the cart.
ah ok. but on their website (http://vectrex.playntradeonline.com/) it says under prototypes that it includes engine analyzer, isn't that a light pen game?

a bit late
what do you mean?

no one as far as i know has made one yet, but hopefully recycledgamer.com will make one

-
holy crap, that might be the pole position 3d game that was never released! if you own that then you are truly lucky, the only copy that exists as far as i know
-
Someone will eventually fall victim for this, when they can get them here at AA for $30:
I don't mean to give this person free advertising, but I hate when someone is trying to rip off other people.
Al should put a few of these on ebay

i cant even tell you how much it annoys me. i got halo 2600 for 50$ cib.. good thing i did cause it sells on ebay for 250$ cib! what is that all about?
