  1. Tempest 2000 to me holds its own against anything out today IMO. My friends and nephew still play it 2 decades plus later.

yea it does , the only game i play to this day when it time to revisit the jaguar. Kinda sad TxK was taken down for the vita as the complete tempest 2k was hidden in it. HAted my vita but a portable tempest 2k is pretty tempting.

  2. 64 bit ! One reason i paid attention to the jaguar , it was a hardware marvel with the 2x 32bit cpu and 64bit - bus. It has it place in gaming history and design.

Hands down tempest 2000 was the best game , always the game i played with newbie jaguar owners. Yea some games were baddies and needed ALOT of polish . I bought my jaguar to play alien vs predators as it was exclusive to the system.

I also remember the dark slow days.- hats off to songbird productions that dude has determination or anyone who wants to develop for it as It no easy task .Today the scene has grown , survived and evolved .

It a good system it has a few gems in the catalog of games. It worth checking out the A plus titles , they hold there own against what was being made for the time.

  4. What I mean is, how closely related is the Jaguar CD unit to the Philips CDi? The CDI was the result of the canceled philips cd add on for the snes just like the PlayStation was the result of the cancled sony snes cd add on. Now the Jaguar CD unit IS a cd add on made after the philips CDI. So is that what the SNES philips add on was just instead of a snes cartridge connector they implemented a jaguar cart connector or did they simply take the cd reader from the CDI and retrofit it to work on the Jaguar

i would imagine if someone cracked both system, either part number or design would give you the answer.I have neither anymore . The pimpn link was worth the cd-i lol

  5. 200 bux wow debated buying one for 40 bux back in the day. Even bought one those fancy rotary controller for tempest 2k for 70. Battlesphere cost me a cool 200 .

Nice to see it lives on , appears alot of effort went into furthering the jaguar library .

Was anyone able to make a successful close to 100 percent jaguar emulator?

Did anyone build a memory or usb style cd drive?

  6. Had battlesphere what a turd . It was a ok game for the time but nothing worth the cost of today.

From the little ive read doug still a dikk about it and stuck in the 90s. Playing all the other systems and games battlesphere was just average. Tempest 2000 was the best game on the jaguar hands down.

I think the whole bs n bsg is a lesson in ego. Only a complete moron would limit the audience .

  7. Ah well after getting over my jag phase good bye.It was fun while it lasted but unfortunely it is a pretty sad scene. But after some thought it just plain sad.It not the games( which 95 percent of them are utter crap), it not the system or the snazzy cd player. It has to be constant bashing (guilty :P ) .After all when u go back into the past on the forums and see how many people came and went can u blame them? But whatever, i guess i wll be another login that comes and goes.Anyways from my time on here a few things

    1) willard is a douche, sorry but i seen you around at other forums willard and u do scam people

    2) jaysmith2000- kiler collection dude, you should be pretty proud of it.Unfortunely for me the jag holds no interest for me anymore. But in the end you are the "true" serious jag collector.Oh yeah congrats on winning that killer dev system on ebay, look pretty complete and sweet.

    3) thunderbird- no matter the flames u stick in there, love the scatbox probaly be one of the few items i actually keep in the long run.Battlesphere meh.Of course never got around to play battlesphere gold. For the time it would of been a killer jag app.

    4) tyrant - dude loved the controller unfortunely now it just collects dust. Also one of the items i will keep for a long time , just based on the quality and how great it works with tempest 2k.

5)jagwarlord- dude man your to tense,Actually in the end the jokes on you, see man i was just razzling you, to show your true colors.Me i hate no one, well try not to . I dont give shit where u live,

All the best in collecting a "dead"system. It died for a reason.

Yes the jaguar died for a reason, the games are nothing really spectacular , the accesories are ok at best( scatbox not included) But in the end itts dead. i think that it is cool people still make games for it , but for whats out there, the programming knowledge could be used elsewhere.

Anyways delete my account, I have no desire ever to show back up on these boards. To lame for me.

  8. "Some people on Atari Age are just plain assholes...

I feel sorry for you. "

actualy dude if you wish i can give you some emails of fellow jag fans who dont think ur really to hot shit either.Actually there is a inside joke with some of us about you.

  9. wow your attitude does proceed your reputation of being a prick.Hey you may be a collector . But all the true cool " jag" collectors isnt always about money.Unlike you . That is something i have learnt in my short time of collecting. Why dont you go talk to someone like micah rowe , and even thunderbird. Unfortunely if your talking about charging azz ebay prices for you items, take them to ebay.Actually better yet go someone where else .

  10. Oh give me a break, professianl reviews, ahahhaha it a frickin game, and those are my first impressions. If you read my first line or 2 VERY DISAPPOINTING FOR A YAK GAME !. oF COURSE ILL PLAY IT LATER BUT THOSE ARE MY FIRST IMPRESSIONS.

  11. So i snagged a copy cheap, to check it out and wow, for a YAK game what a disappointment.Everyone is right the proportions are totally wrong unless they were going for the whole closer to the ground effect, opposed to the higher alltitude in the classic mode. But I would say rental if possible LMAO . Played it for about 10 mins and shut it off . What the hell is with the big azz ship ?
