  1. They may suck in comparison, but new computers are still pretty awesome!
  2. I haven't done the mod, but here's my thoughts: The vertical black line is the 4 signals, shown as a bus, LGBR - similar as shown in the RAM above it. Does IC653 pin 11 connect to IC652 pin 9 and pin 13? - Yes Does IC653 pin 8 connect to IC652 pin 3 - Yes What does "&" mean inside of IC653? - AND gate? If not, doesn't matter? What does "1" mean inside IC652? - Buffer? If not, doesn't matter? I assume IC656 is not needed as its not in the red area, does that sound right? - I think you'll need that if it's not already there. I think these two are related to SCART pin 8/select and pin 16/blanking. Do you agree? - Probably agree = don't need.
  3. Look into the Winbond W27C020. Same pinout as a standard 27C020, and electrically eraseable.
  4. Please keep us posted with any updates, so I can see if this will be worth a 7 hour drive.
  5. Just to confirm... this happened when playing the ROM file? If it's with the game board, try re-seating the game a couple of times, to see if that helps.
  6. At the moment. I'm sure they'll be available again. I think he tends to build a handful at a time, as needed.
  7. Is there any information about this?
  8. Bulk Power FTW. /I knew it was different, but it's still all I thought about.
  9. Another vapourware update: Layout of the next prototype is basically complete. Hopefully I'll have the PCB in hand within a few weeks. Future versions may not have all these options (may be user configurable/orderable), but features include: F18A compatibity YPbPr/component output (new version, simple, but hopefully better than previous version) Works with Sega controllers (extra ports on right side of console for now) Can plug in keypad - installed on top of console (same kind as in Collectorvision's arcade controller) - yes, I know this is weird, but I like it (especially if using Sega controllers) Uses 5V barrel power input Expansion port hopefully fixed up and operational (project was conceived before the SGM ) Option for creating -5V and +12V for expansion port usage (I think the Atari module uses both Power for roller controller Hopefully the standard power and reset plastic button tops will work with the new switches
  10. Before VIII, you need something like Rogue Pork: A Piggy Bank Story.
  11. You're welcome. Edit: I think I answered all your questions, right?
  12. Thanks for asking. Yes, there is more than one way to tell which is which.
  13. Is 2048 the end of the game, then? You should be able to keep playing. I know I've got the 4096 before, so I'd add support up to 8192 at least (realizing 16384 and higher won't fit as easily).
  14. Sorry, you lost me there. Feel free to edit/delete.
