Entex Adventure Vision multicart idea
5-11under replied to 5-11under's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I'm interested in recreating the console, but that's lower down the priority list for me (maybe when I retire someday), and I'd pretty much need to own a console at that point. -
Entex Adventure Vision multicart idea
5-11under replied to 5-11under's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I'm drawn to the obscure. I haven't worked out all the numbers, but I figure if I could borrow a console, my overall shipping+insurance costs back and forth would be about $100 or so. Design would be only time. When the design is complete, I'd get a better idea on quantities, and purchase boards and electronic parts and perhaps some form of case (depends on final design). Besides the shipping cost already mentioned (and a few spare boards which aren't too expensive), there wouldn't be too many costs that would need to be spread across and shared by all the customers - most of the costs would be on a per-unit basis... so it doesn't take too much to make the product viable. I'm ready to take the risk on the $100 or so shipping both ways (plus some additional compensation if required), and there's not much risk/cost beyond that, until product is ready to be made. -
I'd like to make a multicart for the Entex Adventure Vision. This would include the 4 original games, at least one hack (if permission granted), the Code Red demo (if permission granted), and anything else available (perhaps in the least a few more hacks could be made). I'd make the cartridge "field-upgradeable" in case more games/demos become available in the future. However, I don't have an Adventure Vision console. So... If anyone from Canada or USA has a console with at least one cartridge available to borrow/rent for a couple of months (or one to buy for "reasonable" price), please send me a PM anytime, and hopefully we can work something out. Overall condition for the borrow/rent/buy console doesn't matter too much, as long as the unit powers on and I'm able to tell that the games are working. I'd likely sell the multicart "loose", but would consider a box and/or instructions, too, so if someone has scans of the instructions for all the games and for one of the boxes, that might be useful. First priority is the console, though.

How many copies of the mystery game will be made available? 30?

I have a Sharp with 2 line display. I haven't used it much lately, except to show the kids that you could program it. It came in very handy for storing formulas in college. I found where you could "poke" the display contents, and made a little "Sprint"-like car game where your dot would travel along the screen, and respond to left/right commands.

Here's a quick composite video mod for the ColecoVision... . http://atariage.com/forums/topic/163446-diy-modifications-for-colecovision/?p=2019142 -
I don't have an 8-bit machine anymore, but it looks like the 68B09 will work (2 MHz; A is 1.5 MHz, 6809 is 1 MHz).

I only pre-ordered the box.

ported Simon the Snake to Colecovision

Looks fun. The family would like it, I think. It needs a high score, though, for bragging rights. -

Dale was in the picture too, and the picture was taken with Dale's phone. -
Thanks!! I think I have a line on one, but I'll keep this in mind, just in case. No rush, as I mentioned.

ColecoVision 1.2 - replacement PCB, added features
5-11under replied to 5-11under's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
Quoting myself for my 3000th post about a vapourware update ... Well, the monitor I was given was supposed to be an RGB monitor, but it was mostly R with a little bit of G and virtually no B. However, to simplify my whole multi-console testing set-up, I more recently bought a monitor that can handle composite, S-Video, RGB, and YPbPr (too bad it doesn't do RF - then I could do away with the VCR). I don't have a real update on the CV 1.2, but I was speaking with a few people when I visited ADAMCon 28 last week, and they encouraged me to keep moving forward with the project. I was hoping to have time in the spring, but that didn't happen. I do still need to create a number of prototypes for other things, and the plan is to get a new prototype of the CV 1.2 at the same time. Hopefully late summer or early fall. I've updated the circuitry for the video SRAM, but I still need to add the expansion port (this project was started before the SGM existed), and I know there's a few issues with that section of the commonly available online schematic. The other item I still need to resolve is video output. VGA with F18A will be a definite option. For the first run, it might actually be the only option. The plan is to also revisit the analog component/YPbPr output, to see if I can get the black level working properly (without too much cost and trouble). Those will be the only options at least for now (after that, who knows?). Fortunately, for other outputs, it's simple enough to convert the video signal to other analog or digital protocols with relatively inexpensive converters. I'll provide more updates as things happen... . -
I like that Coleco's DK is plugged in.

Quick update: I'm currently sold out of these. I've also run out of boards. I plan to get some more boards made, but I'm not sure exactly when. If you're interested in one, please send me a PM, and I'll see what I can do. Thanks! -

Thanks for the info. Cool collection to display! I see these were the ones made by Coleco back in the day... Pac-Man, Galaxian, Donkey Kong, Frogger, then Ms. Pac-Man, Donkey Kong Junior, and Zaxxon. -
