  1. I have no impressions of what is inside. I need to wait to see the insides, then I'll have a better idea of how difficult it might be. If it has a separate non glob top EEPROM, I'll probably give it a try. Otherwise, I likely won't bother, because that would take too much effort and/or would be beyond my capabilities. I also have no idea if Kevtris would do such a thing, but it seems like he's done plenty of things just for the fun of it, or out of curiosity. If you mod it, you'd also get a little system with potentially all the games you like, which for me, has a lot of appeal. Usually these sorts of systems have very limited appeal because my tastes in video games is very particular, but if I can choose the games, then my appeal for the system increases.
  2. Yes, for modding purposes. It was possible for the recent ATGames Flashbacks, and might be in this case. Who knows? We'll see. I'm sure a few people will open them up and take pictures... and if there's a packaged EEPROM, there's a good chance for some relatively easy hacking. If it's a globbed chip, that'd likely be beyond what I would want to start modding (too much work for too little gain).
  3. I'll buy one if there's a flash EEPROM inside.
  4. For the ColecoVision, yes, component/YPbPr is a very natural choice, and should give best results if done properly. RGB is loved by at least a couple of groups of people... those who use/prefer arcade monitors, and those who use the Framemeister (or similar device).
  5. I don't know if there's any legal issues with the physical design, but the price for a low-volume device is pretty low.
  6. As I mentioned elsewhere, I do have an RGB monitor now. It was free... hopefully it works.
  7. As it happens, I actually have an RGB monitor now. I still need to test it, though.
  8. It's whatever you can dream... and it's available in many colors.
  9. I leave it to you to categorize these or decide if they apply... The EverDrive-64 Flash multicart for the Nintendo 64 has an NES emulator (possibly more, too). Apparently it's not the greatest, though - I haven't tested that feature too much. Intellivision has an emulator for an old Intellivision on GBC and NES: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/254074-intellivision-for-gameboy-color-8-bit-nes-now-available/?hl=%2Bintellivision+%2Bemulator&do=findComment&comment=3537622 Unisonic Champion on the Intellvision: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/253252-lil-bro-a-unisonic-champion-simulator-for-the-intv/ There are a number of CHIP-8 emulators out there.
  10. FYI, Fred/Konus/Juice has been hostile and abusive and threatening to a number of AA members.
  11. Hey, I need another bare-bones Intellivision, for a good cause. Please see here if you have one to spare: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/254585-wanted-intellivision-any-condition-almost/?do=findComment&comment=3547084
  12. I'm looking for an extra Intellivision, loose. Any model would be fine. This is for hardware testing, so case and controller condition isn't important. If a model 2, I don't need power supply or controllers - that would likely be the cheapest option for shipping. Whatever model it is, the RF video output needs to be working properly. It looks like I could get an untested model 2 for $67 CAN (~$52 US) including shipping, so if I could do better than that (for a tested console), that would be great. Shipping would be to Ontario, Canada.
  13. Mine has just been stalled, at least for now. Fortunately, though, I am pretty much caught up with other work, so we'll see what happens... .
  14. NES: I'm sure there's a market for some NES products. GameBoy (Color): Oops, I meant GBC. I'm assuming the resulting file would work on a GBA-SP, so there's no worries about backlight... so, my question should have been: Is there any documentation available on how to create the NFO files required for the GBC emulator?
  15. Thanks Carl! I guess the NES version has just the 9 games listed, with the scrolling feature... any chance of getting a version that will play more games, even if the action is only in part of the screen, and using 1:1 pixel size (maybe adding some Intellivision-y suitable borders)? For the GB version, is there any documentation available on how to create the NFO files?
  16. I'm not big on rap, but if it's done in a certain way, I like it. I'm sure there's more than 3 that I like... . I just found the tape, it also has Castle D. with Just Saying Fresh Rhyme, and another song I can't seem to find at the moment... "We Shouldn't Fight" or something like that, by Yankee D and Matt D or something like that?
  17. I guessed this was a quote, so I searched for it, but found nothing. Anyway... Then I remembered a song I heard once on the radio 25+ years ago, that I recorded on my Walkman while it was playing. I re-recorded it onto another tape, which I titled "Good Rap Songs", which ended up having a total of 3 songs eventually. I've searched for the lyrics a number of times, and never found anything, until now... Here it is, bookmarked for me and for anyone else: Play This Only at Night by Doug E Fresh and the Get Fresh Crew... Hey, it was the 80s Time to cure cancer, now that this mystery is solved. /AtariAge rules!
  18. I've seen the same difference between TVs. My 42" Westinghouse shows black, but my cheap YPbPr to VGA converter is somewhat blue.
  19. I've seen that page. It's a good and simple reference. Maybe if I tried with proper clamping I wouldn't need to subtract more Y from the CV's B-Y signal.
