  1. An original bank-switched Battle zone cart should run on any 64k machine, just like the others ( including Mario Bros. ) . It’s the cracked versions that need to decompress into 128k. The 600xl mod is not 100% software compatible. There are some modified versions out there that take advantage of , for example - the uno cart - I have a Commando XE .rom file that runs off it and on a 64k machine. There are exceptions.

  2. This Atari 800XL has been taken apart, cleaned very well and tested on a official Atari 8bit testing station. It has passed all burn-in tests.

I always leave the top of the RF shield off after cleaning, but the bottom is on.

The motherboard is made in Taiwan, but all the ram and main chips are socketed, which I re-seated.

I will include a new A/V ( Monitor out ) cable, but no power supply for $160.00 plus shipping. I suggest using The Brewing Academy's power supplies.

PM me with your address and I can get you a shipping quote from UPS. I take Paypal and can send you a official Eightbitfix.com invoice, or you can friends and family it to avoid ever increasing fees.

  3. No offence, but what a mess! ;)

It looks like it has the oldskool stereo mod - I see the stacked Pokey's and the RCA's out. I also see the jumper to the CPU for it.

Not sure why they removed the Basic A chip ( top left ).. B doesn't look custom..

I have seen many bad PIA's lately, but it could be anything. 4050.. any of the main chips..

This is my 64k upgrade :

  4. This Atari 1050 has been taken apart, cleaned and tested. I removed the RF shield so putting in a Happy Enhancement from Atarimax would be a snap. Comes with modern power supply from 8 bit classics. I’m Asking $75 + shipping. Visit Eightbitfix.com for references. PM me if interested and I’ll get a accurate shipping quote from UPS. ALSO - if you buy the happy and have Steve send it to me, I’ll put it in no charge.

  5. Ok -

    My Mega ST4 TOS 1.04 / 4gb Sandisk Class 4 transfer speed is  277 kb/s

My 4 MB STe TOS 2.06 / 4gb Sandisk Class 4 transfer speed is 278.

    Most games run fine!

This is without the firmware update from Feb 19th. I'm still waiting for the UART to USB converter.

As it stands, DMA sound is working .. but with mixed results. Megablast intro music plays, but there is no ingame.. it just goes back to the menu.

The " Signal's " Demo runs for a bit then starts to skip. I DID make it though the first song, once.

The Bad Apple Demo played for a bit but bombed out after 40 seconds.

Getting Bad Apple, Sea of Color, Talk Talk 2 and US Policy to all run, is my goal.

I'll track down a quality 1gb card and see what I get.

Thanks to all involved in this project, dirctly and indirectly.
