HA! I was going to delete this, glad I did not. THOSE INSTRUCTIONS SUCK ( which, after much frustration, I re-wrote ), and you don't always get the exact parts stated. In fact, at Eightbitfix I'm staring at the mod right now. Sometimes after the mod, there is NO COLOR. There is a jumper you can run underneath to correct this. I found it by giving up, coming back later, and my finger bridged a circuit ( yes it was on ) and I got color. I think it might also work as a color boost in some cases. The color Pot will have to be adjusted. I can pull the board out and take a pic of the Jeff Popp mod and a pic of my augmentation of it. No Haters please. Glad I could possibly help. Paul

Looks great. Just try to do better than average sound work. I have been bugging Peter Meyer about his sound work too. -
I think Venture for the 7800 could be your best work yet. Tune it well.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/6-Atari-Video-A-V-TV-Cable-Composite-Video-Audio-800-800XL-65XE-130XE/232541246443?hash=item362489d3eb:g:Ey0AAOxytdlQ9xAv Here is your video cable. FYI - when you put in the ram chips ( not sure why he sold you 256k rams ), put one side kinda in there and slightly bend the other side to go in with your fingers, then pop it in. Notch on chip to the left, all chips same direction. Make sure all feet are in. New ram chips go in hard. Eightbitfix.com -

It's the ram. Looks like the ram is socketed, so it will be a snap. Best Electronics. EASY. Just take care in putting the new ones in. -

Thanks Tezz! -
Open it up and start messing around. A card could be out of it's place.

Atarileaf, use the full editor and upload it here.

Probably the Mylar. It could possibly be repaired. A good cleaning might do it. Other things to check: pokey, pia, two 4051 keyboard multiplexors. Buy it if its made in Hong Kong.

Ram is most likely bad. run the ram test. where was it made? Hong Kong or Taiwan? -
OK maybe I should have said BETTER, Mr. ZylonBane. I shall choose my words more carefully next time, as I have re-realized the scrutiny they are under. Thanks for the Atariage posting reminder. It is appreciated.

I would like solid colors, please. Speech ( or his #@$! ) None of that shaded crap. Arcade perfect Qbert can be done.

Just replace the two chip ram, available from best electronics. I can almost guarantee you they are MT ( Micron Technology ) ram. The ram won't reset; it acts like statics ram, or just bits of it won't work at all.. The motherboards are cheap so take care in desoldering them because it's easy to pull up a trace and pad. I use a Hakko. Can you post a pic of your power supply please?
