  1. I have a complete Clab 3.0. It has the disks ( 4 of them ), the Dongle and the manual is in excellent shape. Please PM me for any reasonable offer you might have. Thanks, Paul Eightbitfix.com
  2. Great info Zoggy, thanks. The guy said it was running when he put it away. I’ll try the warm boot and see if it recognizes it.
  3. Does anyone have any detaled information, links or files needed to get these Syquest drives running on my STe? Secondly, I wonder if the transfer rate is good enough to run the Bad Appple Demo? ( might be a longshot ) Any help with this would be appreciated. Thanks, Paul
  4. Here is some info. You may also : Turn on the system for a minute and see which main IC's get hot. I know it's old school, but it can help identify a bad chip.. They also have known issues with the O.S. Paul Xegs Fix.txt
  5. Yes. MT ram SUCKS. It has the propensity to not reset after power down. It holds chunks of data, like static ram. FYI- I have seen Atari put a good Japanese ram in the first slot, and the rest were MT. They were aware of this problem, and just tried to save a buck. To make matters worse, they would ship some units with the " terrible two " power supplies that were filled with epoxy. They would overheat, then when they went out, put out extra voltage and fry IC's, starting with the RAM. MMU's don't usually go bad. If the RAM passes, you may want to look into the PIA. I am seeing more and more bad PIA's these day's, most being revealed by the official Atari 8 bit testing station I have. This program might reveal where th the bad RAM is. 6. I have two fully restored 48k 400’s with power and dust cover for $70 each + shipping. The Uno Cart will work on these!

  7. Eightbitfix.com’s inventory has been updated. Happy New Year Everyone!

Buy from Paul with confidence, I've had nothing but good experiences.

  8. Best Electronics in San Jose CA sells brand new keyboard myylars.
  9. All 800xl’s made in Hong Kong are socketed. Every 600xl was made in Hong Kong, never Taiwan. No real difference in main chips, however you could swap out rev b basic for revision c.. Japanese ram is preferred over MT ( micron technology) ram . MT ram has the propensity to not reset. Later 800xl’s and the XE line use these, mostly.
  10. FYI - It’s hard to tell in the pic, but one foot on that resistor next to the 4464 ram chip has been cut, lifted and had the wire soldered to it.
  11. Xrbrevin, if you could share a high Rez pic of your 600xl UAV install I would greatly appreciate it.
  12. 64k mod. Ram chips are 4464’s. Best electronics might still have a monitor port kit, and consider the UAV board from The Brewing Academy
  13. The stock 1050 does not support double density. I suggest going to Atarimax and getting a Happy 1050 enhancement that will give you true double density. You might try taking it apart and cleaning the head with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol. Other than that, it might be a read write error. The Read circuits are U22, U23 and U24. Write is Q1. I You think there might be other problems with the drive You can contact my disk drive expert in Lompoc, CA, Paul Alhart. ( [email protected] )
  14. Eightbitfix.com is back, and after a long personal hiatus, I'm taking inventory, updating the site, working with B & C Computervisions and The Brewing Academy to bring you the BEST products AND service. I missed You Guy's ( and Gal's )!

  16. Your RAM loosk like it's okay, But this is a good tool to have on hand : Paul eXtended RAM test v0.21.0 (2003-09-16)(-XI-)(SK)(en)[128k].xex
  17. I find Atarionline.pl to be most useful. They have many versions of each game in either .xex or .atr format.
  18. It Could be a bad PIA chip. Lucky for you, all 600xl’s are socketed. ( All 800xl’s made in Hong Kong are as well )
  19. FYI - the power block for the USB should only be 1.5 amp for a stock system a 2.0 amp if you have an ultimate 1mb and other things added to your system. Not sure if that would make a difference or not, but worth mentioning. If this is a 1200xl, you have to remove a resistor ( put a wire in its place ) to restore +5 volts to the SIO port.
  20. Go to DEMOZOO. Click MUSIC, search Atari 8 bit. You will find SAP, RMT and .xex’s of music in zipped files. ( some MP3’s as well )
  21. It would seem all the cracked versions I have tried didn't work on even a stock 800xl, let alone my 256k one I currently have.
  22. Yeah I just saw that on evildhs’s YouTube channel. Pretty amazing.
  23. It might be the main system ram, especially if they are labeled “MT”
